ETFs priced-in?
"Buy the rumor, sell the news"?

I don't see much action (yet)...  Tongue

the ETF is not priced in.  but the 1/2 ing is priced in.

no one really knows what the etf will do to price.

In 52 days a Bitcoin Spot ETF will be approved.
In 151 days the block reward will be cut in half.
In 2024 we will see the return of quantitative easing.
In 2025 we will see the mother of all Bitcoin bubbles.

Are you ready?

Way too slow, 2025 is soooo far away... my hope is that the ciuf ciuf train is leaving the station now. This is my timeline:

In 51 days a new ATH before the ETF
In 150 days 250k before the block cutting
In 2024 FIAT will be considered almost worthless, we will see people rushing into bitcoin and metals
In 2025 we will see the sun of the bitcoin era arise, an utopian world without debt or central banks
In 2026 a solar flare will delete all data on all world PCs
In 2027 we will trascend to a new form of collective consciousness, processing data using the computational power of our collective mind
In 2028 some of us will find that our collective mind is the product of an alien parasite, and form the rebellion that will overpower the aliens and free the umanity
In 2029 we will rebuild our computer and our world. Bitcoin will be the only used currency, my paper wallet (survived from the solar flare and the alien parasitic attack) is now worth the entire European GPD

Finally moved my stash to a Blockstream Jade from my Ledger Nano S.
I had made sure that all my backups etc worked before hand but it is still nerve wracking sending all your wealth around and trusting that it all works as intended.
I feel relieved although I probably picked the worst time to move bitcoin around due to the current fees.
Oh well all done now.

How do you like your Jade HW?  I am interested to take a look at other HWs vs. Trezor (Model T which I like, but...).  The new Passport HW also looks interesting as it works with QR codes.

Personally I think the Jade is, in some ways, the best hardware signer available.

-Can store a seed using a unique security model that does not need a proprietary secure chip
-Can do the above with you running your own blind oracle.
-100% FOSS Hard and Soft (You can build your own out of commodity hardware)
-Works with Liquid (could be useful some day Wink )
-Can also be stateless like the Seedsigner (also a GREAT hardware signer)
-Small
-Has a battery
-Has a camera
-Full HWI support (works with all the great SW wallets)
-Also a good official wallet (green)
-Can sign fully airgapped via QR codes.

-edit- So you know my account was not hacked by Blockstream... I also would love to see a Monero FW developed for the Jade.

-edit#2-  Also unlike other fine maxi wallets it really IS open source and the company is not run by elitist jerks...

I don't know, why any hardware wallet should be better then a paper wallet?

I generated a bunch of paper wallets using bitaddress.org (offline) and I store them in a secure way, and I feel more secure than ever. I would never see as safe with an hardware wallet of any sort, the only safe thing of an hardware wallet is the paper backup imho

Why i have to login to see the coins price?

This feels limitating

I merited the post, after that I read the above post and well, that this could indeed be illegal according to forum rules. I think that effectly you should remove that requirement.

Did you know that you can trace every single satoshi using orderals? And that there's a market about "rare" coins, as ones mined by satoshi or used to pay the pizza?

I was out of this world for some time and this is by far the most fascinating news for me, but seems like it isn't getting much attention.

I scanned all my addresses to find if I have some rare sats from satoshi or whatever, unlucky I found only some palindrome and uncommon and a black uncommon sat.

I searched for "orderals", also combined with other searchwords, but i only got unrelated rubbish.
Mind to elaborate further, maybe spend a link or two?  Grin

Of course, here is a link: https://magiceden.io/ordinals/discover-raresats

If you want I can provide links for porn too Wink

Ps: also, it's "ordinals" not "orderals". My fault. It's the shit they use to spam the mempool and engrave NFT on the blockchain. It's something like "colouring" each satoshi like it's  a pixel, I can't say I completely understand it but it's fascinating. I thought you hardcoiner were always up-to-date with bitcoin extravagances...

Back in 2011, no exchanger was accepting cards, only wire transfers.

So you're lying.
16  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 04, 2023, 02:28:21 PM

Seems to me that the mempool was often congested, i don't think all of these are attacks by a maleficient entity
17  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 04, 2023, 01:46:30 PM
bitcoin will never work for coffee

What is this coffee hypothesis of yours? Show me your research. Tongue

we should implement a better lighting network

Agreed. But that also seems to be the projected progression, does it not? We seem to be headed towards that path anyway.

Here is my coffee hypotesis:

The year is 2053. Dollar and Euros are long gone, so are the so-called "central bank cryptoassets",  that's because a system based on trust is no longer an option, people want only something that have value. Bitcoin, gold, even bullets and cigarettes are commonly used and daily traded for goods.

In that very probable scenario I enter in a bar and order a coffee using bitcoin. A coffee is worth way less than a Satoshi, so the barman hold me half a sovereign of gold and  a cigarette as rest.

This is simply not feasible if we don't implement a working ln so we have to hurry up
18  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 04, 2023, 11:21:12 AM
Someone is out there flooding the mempool again. Easy to tell that's what's happening because it's on a weekend (almost always less demand on a weekend).

Not sustainable but good for the miners.

My guess is that it's a bunch of shitcoin scammers who are going to try the bitcoin is too slow and costly thing again.

How much would be the cost of an attack like that?
When bitcoin was forking there was for sure a mempool manipulation, but nowadays I fell that unlikely.

Imho the problem is that when crypto move fast bitcoin is not enough fast, we should implement a better lighting network or bitcoin will never work for coffee or anything besides being a store of value.

Just follow the steps and let us know if they pay you.

Today my account was unlocked and i can trade and withdraw, but the ethereums I put for stake are still missing. I will update about this too.

I think that bitstamp is still a full legit exchanger, but on the internet is full of people unsatisfied or frankly scared by their very unpersonal approach ("we are working on this" is the only answer some people got after months of blocked account and after providing all requested info). Kraken seems to be a better option for European users nowadays.
20  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 31, 2023, 09:04:32 PM
Sorry for the lame question, but is bitstamp still legit?

I didn't sodl anything for eons and now I'm trying to get my very old bitstamp account to work, but they are asking for too many shit and on their reddit some people seems to have they account been locked FOR MONTHS for kyc verification and such, and this frightens me a bit.

Also, I was very stupid and deposited some funds BEFORE unlocking my account, deposits were the only unlocked thing and this is a bad sign too.

I used to think bitstamp was the most legit exchanger around but so was gox, I know they didn't turn full scam but I'm very out to date about the bitcoin ecosystem and i'm wondering if there are some known problems...

Never put your money on an exchanger

So bitstamp has locked down? Not good at all.

I think they are still legit but I'm getting some red flags and getting worried, and on bitstamp official reddit (2 users online) I got an instant downvote and no responses, so another red flag. But only 48 hours expired so I'm still hoping it will be solved asap, I will keep updated

There is no such thing as red flags for Bitstamp, stop the panic FUD.

KYC is pretty much the standaard. You suffer anxiety because you need to search for the required info from years ago but you are to lazy looking for it.

Yeah, I suppose I'm just anxious, but they did not ask any kyc info, just locked my account for "suspicious activity" (that was probably triggered by me logging after a long period of inactivity and from different devices and locations).

I'm not spreading FUD, just asking if there's a general sentiment of FUD around about bitstamp, because maybe it's a known issue I don't know about because I rarely read this forum or other bitcoin communities nowadays.
