2  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase on: December 26, 2013, 03:52:09 PM
coinbase = frustration. I currently have BTC there that has been stuck for several weeks, and I cant transfer it anywhere or move it to a paper wallet. Every transaction I make bounces back after 24 hours and is refunded to my account. Ask yourself, do you want to be in my situation? If so click, coinbase.com

Highly, highly, recommend you look elsewhere.

4  Economy / Service Discussion / BTC stuck in Coinbase for almost 2 weeks , help?!?! on: December 22, 2013, 10:41:33 PM

Ive been trying to place Coinbase BTC transactions every day since December 13th and none of my transactions are going through - coinbase keeps the funds under "pending" providing no transaction ID, and then after 24 hours I receive an email "This transaction was never accepted by the bitcoin network and has been unconfirmed for 24 hours, so we've removed it and restored the bitcoin to your account."

I tried reaching support several times until finally I received a response on Dec 16th:
Quote
"Hi there,
Thanks for contacting us! We appreciate your patience while we work toward resolving your issue."

It is currently December 23rd and my BTC is still stuck there. Needless to say, i've tried contacting support multiple times since then.

Does anyone have ANY suggestions on how I can get my BTC out of this wretched service?

Kind of annoying that they deleted my message there. I guess the only way to use that group is to use a real facebook account and let all my friends and their mothers start speculating about my P&L. Kind of kills the whole anonymity aspect.

The buy offer still stands for anyone coming across this post tonight.

Im looking to buy some bitcoins for cash tonight (Nov 23rd) in tel aviv, anyone up to sell?
7  Economy / Service Discussion / [solved] Issues funding paper wallet with Coinbase - 1 BTC currently stuck on: November 22, 2013, 12:01:17 AM
EDIT: the issue finally got solved by itself. Had to wait it out until the retried transaction was finally accepted. Total time to fund 5 paper wallets: 4 days.

Hi all,

Five days ago (18th of November 2013) I funded five paper wallets using coinbase's web interface (each wallet with 1 BTC). Two days later on 20th of November I received an automated email from coinbase stating
Quote
On Nov 18, 2013 you sent 1.00 BTC to "[address removed]". This transaction was never accepted by the bitcoin network and has been unconfirmed for 24 hours, so we've removed it and restored the bitcoin to your account.

I checked blockchain.info and it looks like all my paper wallets were funded successfully except for this one which had the transaction rejected.

When I log into my coinbase account I dont see the 1 BTC refund, but instead it looks like the transaction was retried automatically (i assume) because on Nov 20th I have a transaction of -1 BTC which I did not execute, and it looks like one of the outputs is the address of my paper wallet. Unfortunately I dont see any unconfirmed transactions on blockchain.info so I have to assume that something has gone wrong somewhere.

I've opened a support ticket with coinbase almost immediately (Nov 20th) but still haven't heard back as of yet (currently Nov 22nd).

Has anyone experienced any similar issues with transactions getting stuck like this?
How many years will it take to get a response from their support team?
Will i ever see my 1 BTC again?
[stay tuned and find out on the next episode]

I guess i'll join this thread considering i'm waiting to get out of the newbies section, and according to the README i need to be posting something of substantial length. Its a bit frustrating considering I just want to make it into the "general discussion thread"  to ask a security question, but I can see how this limitation could be necessary to keep the spam limited to the newbies section only.

Alright then. Hopefully this has been substantial enough to get out of here.
