1  Other / Beginners & Help / Hi all, on: October 31, 2013, 12:25:25 AM
I made the mistake of posting in another thread before I found out there is a four hour restriction on being able to post elsewhere as I would be stuck in Newbie Jail, but now that I have got out of jail, I just wanted to say a few words to introduce myself.

I won't give you all my life story (I'm bored thinking about it! Wink ) but suffice to say that my friend's and I were talking about BitCoins, some of them think it is a high risk to get involved but others were more open minded about it, and as you can tell I'm one of the open minded ones, I wouldn't be here otherwise.

What attracts me to the idea has more to do with the distributed computing model than it does with the possibility of mining to generate income, and I like the idea of distributed computing because I like the idea of extended online communities, however if I can do both as in help a community and make money then I certainly have no objections to either aspect.

It would be great if this forum could help me find ways of achieving both goals, if anyone has suggestions or ideas on either of these aspects I'd love to read about them and I hope I am able to contribute something useful or interesting in my time here.

Excellent thread, glad this is the first one I looked at, I'm thinking about starting up and already learning useful information before posting my introduction.
