1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Looking for miners in the Martinsburg WV Area (or around an hour away) on: May 28, 2018, 09:21:07 PM
We are starting a small mining farm, we currently have three rigs and a 4th to be setup in June.  Just looking for people who are willing to share info, ways to save money and just wanted to see how people have their rigs setup to see if I can improve our setup.  I attached a picture of our current setup in my friends basement

2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Nvidia hybrid fan mount? on: January 10, 2018, 02:32:57 PM
I can't find anything about a mount for the fan on the water cooled hybrid cards.

This is just more of a "just incase a hybrid card is all I can find"

The only think I can figure is to rig up some sort of bracket that goes over top of the rig to hold the fans.  Not sure exactly what I would do but wanted to see if something already existed

This would be for a typical 6-8 GPU rig

on the plus side heating problems would be a lot less lol

If you want to evolve, you should also add the H110 pro btc from Asrock with 13 pci slots. I'm using this one and price has seriously gone down which makes it more attractive than 6 months ago.

thats a thought.  My goal was going to be around 6 cards per rig.  I wanted to space the cards out for heat issues.  if I tried to squeeze more cards in I figured they would get to hot being so close together

you can choose:
1. Asrock H81 PRO BTC R2.0 LGA 1150
2. Gigabyte H110-D3A LGA 1150
3. Biostar TB250-BTC
4. Asrock ATX Z97 Extreme4 1150
5. Biostar TB85
6. MSI Z170A
7. MSI Z270 Gaming M7
8. Asus Prime Z270-P
9. Asus Prime H270-PLUS
10. Biostar TB350-BTC
11. Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3

thank you and the 2 others that were helpful.  This gives me a good starting point.  Ill probably learn towards the Asus.

I want get an s9 but right now the price is out of reach so im thinking of setting up an Ether miner with ethos.

I know windows and Macs well but its been awhile since I touched linux and wasn't the best with it.  I was thinking of the motherboard combo in gpushack and get the cards elsewhere.  I think this would be the safest best than all I need is power and I should be good.  This way I don't have to look with installing linux.  Im sure im paying a tad more doing this but its less headache.

I was thinking the rx 580 8gb (the 480 is to much right now witheveryone buying them)

I read they get around 25-30 after a bios mod. Is the mod easy to do? Or would I even need to with a motherboard from gpushack?

I also saw a mod for the video card I need to install.  again is this a simple process?

I want to buy one and see how it goes before I put a lot of money into all this

what else am I missing?

Recommend Awesome miner as well. You can monitor and control up to 5000 gpus and asics. They also have a cloud service and can be run through open vpn.  I restart and switch pools on my s9's from my phone, while at starbucks...

Did you have to change it on every machine or just change it in awesome miner and it takes care of changing each machine?

a friend and myself are considering setting up a mining farm at a remote location. With the amount of miners we want we can't use our house.

Considering the S9 and AvalonMiner.  Most likely the S9.  Im looking for remote monitoring  software that I can see all the details for the miners form my house or when im away.

If possible I would love to have text and/or email alerts for temps going to high, hardware failure, etc.  and a remote shutdown options.

Is this possible?
