1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Bounce BTC across an address on: November 05, 2013, 05:51:08 AM
Is the following possible:
Pretend I have funds in address X. Address Y is a popular address like the "correct horse battery staple" brain wallet address.
Can I create a transaction so funds go X into Y into X all in one transaction without risk of theft at address Y?

Good luck! Your going to need it. I highly doubt your system will work, unless you have the details on how you are going to do all that?

I believe we are entering a new realm.  Somewhere I was reading a page (might've been a Forbes article) talking about Bitcoin and relative risks associated with it.  It shows how regulatory risks have actually decreased significantly.  This is huge because the institutional investors won't touch an investment that isn't legal, but once the legal framework exists, it's game on.  The author of the article believes this is a very positive position to be in, and was speaking in a highly bullish manner.

I'd have to say I agree...the US threw some threats around and took out some of the most brazen (DPR and SR), thus leaving the network stronger, with more legitimate businesses on the roster.

I have a suspicion we are about to soar, but if you were to look at the anatomy of a bubble we are still all very much in the "smart money" phase...someday people will be like, I wish I had bought it when it was only 1000 USD a peice!
My thoughts exactly. The ride is just about to begin!
4  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How often should I back up Bitcoin-QT? on: October 31, 2013, 07:47:19 PM
Semi new to bit coin, I use bitcoin-qt as my wallet.  I do encrypt my wallet files and back them up in multiple locations and email it to myself.  My questions is how often should I be backing it up?  I have heard every 100 wallet address that you create, but I have also heard of "change addresses" being created without my knowledge.  What do you guys do?
The more you send payments the more it should be backed up. If you are mostly getting payments it doesn't matter. Change addresses occur when you are sending. You could always switch to Electrum or Armory and you only have to back up once.
