1  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: The Alina project: Donate for a worthy cause on: January 16, 2018, 04:01:37 PM
Hey! It’s great to see that you started this here, and as I stated, you are going to get a lot of skepticism. The best you can do is to continue providing transparency and updates. I, personally, would consider donating a couple hundred bucks, but as someone who hosts many fundraisers, I will say that there is still a lot to be desired for me to be able to trust that the funds will go to the cause at hand. I have seen my fair share of newbie accounts claiming that they need funding for a life-changing cause.

The Project Development board is used to find supporters and service providers for a project that you want to develop, so my suggestion was based on finding some people that can help you develop a website, even one page, that can be used to share this project, rather than hosting a fundraiser solely on the forums.

Social proofing is also important, so try to get some prominent members of your community to provide some quotes regarding their involvement with this project. This could be town council members, doctors, nurses, ministers... anyone that has a social reach and can provide any form of validity to the cause you’re raising funds and awareness for. Unfortunately, a Facebook group and bitcointalk post won’t be enough to get even the biggest of whales to donate anything for this, myself included.

I’m just being honest, and I hope you see this as encouragement rather than taking it as a downfall. I have just witnessed too many people using negative circumstances for personal gain, here and IRL, so I need to feel close to 100% satisfied that my funds will be used for its intended purpose.

Good luck with the project, and I hope you can find a small team that is willing to help you to create what you’ll need to run a successful fundraiser campaign.

She is fortunately recovered from the septicemia, and sent me these photos of her and her documents: https://imgur.com/a/yE19R. Excuse her poor camera and thery're all in Romanian, but at least i hope it gets clear this is a real thing. She still doesn't have enough money to cover all the bills.

From what it seems our little project isn't big or serious enough to get anything but scam accused here. At this point i just want to clear my name from the accusations of trying to use her situation for my own gains.

My name is Nils Samuelsson: https://se.linkedin.com/in/nils-samuelsson-65a108a4
Me posting about this on our page: https://imgur.com/a/sl0L6

I have nothing to hide and no intention of scamming anyone.

But i don't feel very encouraged to keep this running actively so i will leave it as is for now.

I understand.

I should've taken more time to properly set up my profile before posting. My status doesn't lie, I am a newbie.

But I will gladly prove you wrong. I am here to stay on this account.

And since I'm not involved in any other fundraisers you won't be seeing any more threads of this manner from me.

This is definitely not a scam. Neither is my Alina thread. She in the goddamn hospital with blood poisoning, I try to genuinely help her and people are so cynical they think I would use that for my own gains. I'm a little upset tbh. What kind of human do they take me for. I have two small children, a decent job and no need to scam anyone.

I'm selling this painting to get money to invest, make grow and hopefully donate a better portion myself. I have already made two donations so far.

Why do I have a warning sign for extreme caution? This is the first trade I'm offering.

I'm terribly sorry if I've offended you Void. But you're wrong on why I came to this community.

I'm genuinely interested in the blockchain technology and how it can be implemented in various industries for more transparent and secure data. How it can reduce costs and  in the long run become somewhat of a digital democracy. I'm reading whitepapers and following threads everyday, I just don't feel confident enough to join most discussions yet and therefore hadn't made an account. I'm long term (small) invested in ChainLink and Request.

I registered and posted this solely on the promise I made to Alina. I figured I could try right? A penny for one is a fortune for another.

I understand this is a distasteful first post, but this is far from the last you'll see from my account.

Hope we can meet on another thread without me being ruined for you.

Cheers.

Hi,

My name is Nils Samuelsson, I'm an artist from north of Sweden.

Below I'll present a recent work of mine.

This painting respresents how closely attached we all are to the unknown void, often forgotten but always present beyond our layer of percievable colors and comfortable surroundings. A reminder of the true universal balance...

To you it might mean nothing or something. That's the beautiful subjectiveness of art.

"Earths Illusions"
Mixed medium on 24pt chipboard
63 x 77 cm | 2'3" x 2'6.5"
300$
Turnable

Shipping worldwide.

Take care of each other.

Thanks again for your honesty and support BTCforJoe!

Since we are merely a group of Alina's friends who's gotten together on Facebook and raised whatever fiat we could so far, unfortunately we don't have any council members or ministers in this project. But I will ask the fellow members for any form of validity we can provide.

Though it would be greatly appreciated if anyone here would be willing to help this project in any way. I have some minor webdesign skills so I can use an easy platform like wix to put together a page. If anyone has any other service to offer we would be forever grateful.

She is back in Romania now, and I will ask if it is possible to get a statement from her doctor regarding the septicemia and her living situation.

I'll update again as soon as I have more information.

When I see it quoted I agree it looks a bit phishy. I will rephrase to friend, bc that's what she is.
Inderstand there's a lot of people trying to scam this way, and I don't blame you for thinking this one is too. You should be sceptical and I would probably do the same.

Although this is a serious project. So far the best liquidity I can give is our FB group with 319 active members. As you can see Alina is 3rd from the left on the picture.
We've been using swish as fund collector so far:

I'll also provide the tracker link for my wallet address, so you can see that no funds has or will move (it's empty right now). https://blockchain.info/address/1JDwzZwQJT4RMJubXE1yVSyU1EWVokZLhJ

Since I'm new here this thread is a result of a nice tip from a fellow member here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2715296.msg27774000#msg27774000

There's also a GoFundMe page coming.

Take care.

It is!
I'm fairly new to crypto and haven't really made any gains yet, but if I had I would've donated some of that. I have donated a little bit of fiat tho but my family is short of money ourselves as of now. I made a topic in project development now with picture and link to our FB help page if anyone is interested.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2739784.msg28015348#msg28015348

So far no donations.
10  Bitcoin / Project Development / The Alina project: Donate for a worthy cause on: January 12, 2018, 11:56:51 PM
Hi,

Summary:
I promised a homeless friend of mine to start a fundraiser within crypto and let the funds grow organically until she gives birth. She's pregnant in 5th month, got diagnosed with septicemia and needs help paying medical costs. Her name is Alina and she really deserves it.

I live in northern Sweden, and she has been in our community for quite some time now, always with a positive outlook and helpful dispite her situation. She doesn't do drugs and is not your typical homeless, she's fairly young, really has a pure heart and deserves a better life. She doesn't have a Swedish citizenship so she had to go back to her native country recently, wich is quite expensive in contrast to Sweden. Her gentleness has made an impact on hundreds of people in our town, so we've started a FB page to help her out: https://www.facebook.com/groups/349362485517903/

We've been able to raise a little bit of money so far but far from enough to really change her situation.

I think her eyes portraits her gentle soul:
http://imgur.com/7SeWbPj(recieving flowers on last normal hospital visit before septicemia)

She got really excited when I told her about this, and any donation would mean the world to her. Remember that a fraction for some of you would mean a fortune to her. I will update this thread with progress if any response is recieved upon this project. BTC adress is in signature.

Please tell me if there's anything you wonder or further questions legitimizing this project.

Wish you all the best!

Sincerely, Nils.

Thank you guys for nice and informal answers!

I will make a post on project development with links to our FB page for helping her, and some pictures.

Anything is a lot for her!

Have a good weekend!

Great idea! FundraiserCoin Smiley I would like to believe it would work in this seemingly selfcentered business. But i know there's good ones out there!

That requires quite some work tho. Putting together a team and coming up with a working strategy. I was more thinking about smaller scale.

Hi,

I promised a pregnant homeless friend of mine to start a fundraiser within crypto and let the funds grow organically until birth. She's in 5th month, got diagnosed with septicemia and needs help paying medical costs. Her name is Alina and she really deserves it.

How do I best do that? What part of the forum would be most appropriate? Or are there any platforms for that kind of thing?

Until further notice there's a BTC address in signature if anybody would want to help.

Wish you all the best.

Sincerely, Nils.
