4  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Can we still mine from home? on: December 02, 2014, 12:48:50 PM
I just had a read of this:
http://www.finance-guy.net/finblog/is-difficulty-creating-centralization-of-bitcoin

It makes a fair point, that mining pools are becoming too powerful, and I don't know about you but my home computer would be useless at mining.

What do you think?  is the growing difficulty bad for mining?

You can still mine from home, don't forget you save from hiring people and renting a office. Now you need cheap power....

8  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Antminer S5 Speculation on: December 01, 2014, 03:22:11 PM
I actually prefer them to sell used S4 miners but for cheap, price is more important then new or used right?
9  Other / Archival / Re: Best bitcoin faucets? on: December 01, 2014, 03:11:59 PM
The best faucet is faucet where you have more referrals.
If you don't have 10-20-etc referrals any faucet is just the wasting of time.
Sometimes faucets can help newbies to earn some money and start something more serious: cloud mining, gambling, etc.
So, faucets for newbies and for bots.

Getting active referral is more important, I have a lot of referral which is offline all the time...
10  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Antminer s4? on: November 13, 2014, 04:25:28 AM
Wondering if S4 is good investment, any suggestion about that equipment

After the increase in bitcoin price, it might be worth to buy now. Cause S4 is priced in USD...

12  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How long to mine 1.0 BTC ? on: November 13, 2014, 04:02:38 AM
Hi, could someone give me a rough estimate on how long one would have to mine to achieve 1 bitcoin ?

Say the scenario/setup is as follows:

- 7970 GPU (500 avg Mhash/s)
- 24/7 operation
- Slush's pool (or similar)

Thank you

The answer is never for GPU. You need many Th/s for that.

14  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Is anyone still buying? on: November 13, 2014, 03:48:02 AM
Interested to see if anyone is still buying new mining rigs?

I decided that i'll stick with what I have as it seems like a waste hurling more money at it now. The difficulty is still increasing so I guess someone is.

Well, I am buying cloud mining hash. No more buying hardware as electricity bills is higher then the revenue.
15  Economy / Speculation / Re: what happened, guys? on: November 13, 2014, 03:45:24 AM
There is a lot of buzz on Chinese forums that Russia reduced fines for Bitcoin involvement and in fact Russia is opening up to Bitcoin. The Chinese are crazed at this time and buying in big time as they did last year around the same time.

Oh nice, I have read about Russia reducing fines for bitcoin but where can I read about Russia opening up for bitcoin?

19  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoins on: October 25, 2014, 06:56:49 AM
i think owning the faucet is worth it if you can have lots of advertisers to pay the off set.

I mean most advertisers dont repeat since the whole ad block thing.

Yeah right, unfortunately it's not an easy task to get advertisers on your site.

cant you just use adsense?
