1  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: July 23, 2014, 06:34:59 PM
- It has some black  sticky tape on the back of it and glue all over some of the buttons and the bit metal plate where I presume the LCD (which is missing) should go looks like it came out of a dump (Pictures Coming when I get home)

I had the black tape and hot glue on several of my units as well. 2 out of 3 are defective....Minersource did some amazing testing on these.

No kidding i received two out of the four X-1's I ordered and the first one i plugged in sent a shower of sparks everywhere, so far the 2nd unit hashes anywhere from 9 to 90 Ghz regardless of what the Freq is set to, the errors do seem to drop a bit if it's set to 1000 or below.. Your mileage may vary  Roll Eyes

Make that two for two on the PSU's, i moved my working unit to the shelf i was going to keep it on, plugged it in and fireworks.. unbelievably craptastic parts BA

Are you offering ebay 'like' payments? ie $300 us for a blue fury

Ebay

Do you feel like sharing their eBay user name?
6  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: are they scamers?? on: November 26, 2013, 06:22:39 PM
According to a whois search that domain was just registered 24 November (yesterday) http://whois.domaintools.com/asic-laboratories.com

and their pricing is awfully close to an "alleged" scamer http://www.asic-technologies.com/

I'd say tread carefully and if you do decide to buy something, spend as little as possible, unless of course you have money to burn, then you can send some to me as it's cold out Grin

Hmmm, I assume this supports getwork
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mac OS X Resource & Howto for cgminer 3.8.2 & bfgminer 3.6.0 (Homebrew/DIY/Bins) on: November 22, 2013, 03:58:32 PM
Some more information on getting BF1 sticks to work on OS X. As with the Erupter sticks, there is a driver that must be installed for bfgminer to work, and it must be unloaded in order for cgminer to work. With the Erupters these are the UART to USB drivers.

So, in order to get cgminer to detect the BF1 device on OS X, you must unload the following drivers (as stated by other users):

Code:
sudo kextunload -b com.apple.driver.AppleUSBCDC
sudo kextunload -b com.apple.driver.AppleUSBCDCACMData

And, in order to get bfgminer to detect the BF1 device, you must load the same drivers:

Code:
sudo kextload -b com.apple.driver.AppleUSBCDC
sudo kextload -b com.apple.driver.AppleUSBCDCACMData

After you do either you will have to unplug and replug in the BF1 device and then it should be detected by executing either miner with the -d? argument:

Code:
bfgminer -d? -S bigpic:all
 [2013-11-21 16:38:38] Started bfgminer 3.6.0
 [2013-11-21 16:38:38] Devices detected:
 [2013-11-21 16:38:38]   0. BPM 0  (driver: bigpic)
1 devices listed

Code:
cgminer -d?
 [2013-11-21 16:49:06] Started cgminer 3.8.2
 [2013-11-21 16:49:09] Devices detected:
 [2013-11-21 16:49:09]   0. BF1 0 (driver: bitfury)
 [2013-11-21 16:49:09] 1 devices listed

As another heads up, the ktext unload for cgminer will only last until you reboot, I won't tell you how I know, but trust me I know  Wink

Hey there, I'm not worried about any bounty, I just can't seem to log in even after changing my password..

Anyone else having a problem?

TIA,
Carne

I have tried everything on my mac but bfgminer doesn't recognize the BlueFury.
I can see it on my system profiler, have installed the latest bfgminer from brew and unloaded the kext's but nothing.... I really don't know what else to do... :-(

Just a shot in the dark, but you may wanna give this a read http://blog.nwoolls.com/2013/07/01/bitcoin-mining-on-mac-os-x-asics/

this line caught my eye "if you are using bfgminer you must install the CP210x USB to UART Bridge VCP driver"

This advice is worth everything you paid for it, as I have yet to play with bfgminer Grin
12  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Comprehensive ASICMiner Blade Setup on: November 21, 2013, 03:32:43 AM
nothing i could do would work on bfgminer or slushes proxy. i had 3 or 4 people working on it with me all much more gifted linux users and miners.

so for now until i nuke and pave this box i am using a cloud based solution proxy. that worked from the first time i tried it. ive already hit a block running these two blades so for now, i am satisfied.

thank you for all of your help, and yes if you are having issues, post, post a lot and frequently, reading through your solutions helps, and it helps a great deal!

I have two suggestions for ya..
The first is from here http://blog.nwoolls.com/2013/07/01/bitcoin-mining-on-mac-os-x-asics/
"if you are using bfgminer you must install the CP210x USB to UART Bridge VCP driver"

Roll Eyes nevermind I skimmed that the 1st time thru and missed that it was for USB miners

If that doesn't work, the only other suggestion I have, at the moment, is to try cgminer
13  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Comprehensive ASICMiner Blade Setup on: November 20, 2013, 03:07:16 PM
Just received my blade, sailed smoothly through the hardware stuff, however I'm stuck at the configuration page.

What I did was:

1)Open mining proxy(on default settings)
2)Set both the server addresses to my IP(as seen in cmd using /ipconfig)
3)Set the ports to 3333,8332
4)Set the account info to username_workername:password,username_workername:password

Now I'm getting two different results.

On port 3333,mining proxy goes batshit crazy, but the hashrate is still stuck at 0
On port 8332 nothing happens.

Would appreciate any help, thanks in advance.

3333 is a sratum port, 8332 is getwork port, blades use getwork so if you use 8332 twice for your ports you should be good... Hope that helps

Don't be afraid of command line. It is not as hard as it looks.

Oh, I'm not afraid of the command line, my typing skills, or the lack there of, is another story

Just as a heads up, the only way I was able to get cgminer to see my BlueFury under Mac OS 10.7, 10.8 and 10.9 was to 'unload' the new USB modem

sudo kextunload -b com.apple.driver.AppleUSBCDC
sudo kextunload -b com.apple.driver.AppleUSBCDCACMData

Hopefully this will save someone else a LOT of hair pulling
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Blue fury question on: November 13, 2013, 03:08:55 AM
You should use bfgminer or cgminer instead. Bitminter is not a good mining software. I am not sure if Bitminter actually support blue fury. But bfgminer and cgminer is officially supported.

Thanx, I shall be adding learning those miners to my to do list
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Blue fury question on: November 13, 2013, 02:04:20 AM
Greetings, I received a blue fury today, I had no luck with BitMinter 1.4.2, I did however get it running with BitMinter 1.5 (beta).. my dilemma is that I'm getting 2 to 3 times the amount of miscalculations to accepted blocks.. since my ASIC's never had this problem I assume either something is off in BitMinter or the blue fury.. any suggestions are appreciated as this is all relatively new to me

Using a Mac running os x 10.7, Blue Fury and 2 ASIC sticks (all plugged straight into the mac, for now) BitMinter

I'm currently a 'hobyist' we'll see how fast that changes  Grin

Thanx,
Carne
