1  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why is it so hard to buy bitcoin with PayPal Arghhhh!!!! on: November 11, 2013, 08:15:05 PM
Actually there is a way, I use VirWox to buy Linden dollars which I then transfer to BTC.
Some fees apply but it works and I received my BTC.

Since today cex does also merged mining, which makes you also some devcoin, namecoin and ixcoin at the same time.
It is my preferred cloud platform

Don't listen to these newbies spamming their referral links at you.
I suggest you first start learning all about bitcoins, before actually starting to "earn' them.
And really, there is no easy way to earn.  Tread bitcoins like cash, can you get free cash?  Not unless you find a few cents on the ground.

Actually I am not spamming referral links but telling the guy it's easier to gain some bitcoins by skillful trading without transaction fees.
I started in the GPU mining era and I now make my BTC profits by trading those.
So just stating to "not listen to these newbies" is a bit uncalled for.  Angry

Best advice:

Do not bet on one horse !
Always keep some of your budget open to buy more if it drops, this causes your average buying price to be lower, making it easier to sell with profit if it rises again.

And never invest more than you can afford to lose. Just be prepared to lose it all in the worst case.

I think it all depends on how many real life $ you want to invest.
Just be aware that most timebased mining contracts do not give you guaranteed profits!

Always keep in mind the difficulty increases that will happen between the moment the price is set and the moment the mining begins.
2 weeks of delivery time could mean the difference between profit and loss.

I trade my BTC on CEX for hashing power and resell it for a higher price. This gives me several percent gains per day.
You can check it out here https://cex.io/r/1/Whity/0/

I am new to the whole mining experience but have learned a lot from this site.  I have come to realize that mining bitcoin is not going to be very effective for me.  I have decided to mine alternate coins.  I am doing this for fun so I am using my laptop and if/when an inexpensive hardware becomes available to plug into my laptop via usb for scrypt I may purchase.  I will be getting a usb miner for the sha coins.  I know ROI is not very likely.  Can someone tell me how to decided which ones are good or is is better to just mine some of each one and hope that one day they will be worth something.

You could check websites like CoinChoose to see which coins are worth it, but always do your research to see if they are premined or are known to contain a virus.
If unsure just upload the software to a virus scanner website like VirusTotal.
8  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is giving Bitstamp or Mt.Gox your information safe when verifying? on: November 10, 2013, 03:55:24 PM
I gave my information and document to Gox at one point and regret it.

Why?

I never ended up trading there, so it was lose-lose.

What did you lose?

It's just a lot of people taking their profits and rebuying later when price settles again Smiley
