1  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Unofficial BITMINE CoinCraft series 28nm ASIC miners thread on: March 11, 2014, 09:51:37 PM
I guess I am the only one who read the CPP as 10% extra every 10 days --- means multiply hashrate by 1.1 every 10 days.
100%, 110%, 121%, 133%, etc.

At this point I'd be happy with just a full refund (I paid in Bitcoin @~$500). Forget the extra 10% for all I care, but I believe I deserve Bitmine to refund me what I paid them seeing as they failed so utterly in their promises!

Is a lawsuit my only option now giorgiomassa ?

Hello everyone.

Where do you see your queue numbers?
I have a Rig ordered from September 18th #1xxx which was supposed to arrive in December but is now listed as "January Batch". The order is listed as processing. That's all.

I got no emails. No notifications. No queue number.
What should I do? I paid in Bitcoin and by what they're writing now, it sounds like ... even if they don't deliver within 61 days, I won't even get a full refund!

I'm pissed off at Bitmine for their terrible communication. Late delivery is one thing, but late delivery without updates, with snarky comments on the forum, possibly re-interpreted promises ... I'm having a BFL flashback and I'm still stuck in a lawsuit with BFL. I don't want to end in a lawsuit with Bitmine too.

December is over 61 days ago. What shall I do?

@giletto

Maybe someone new to bitcoin does not immediately understand the technical differences between the inputs.io and blockchain.info wallets.

Maybe someone new to bitcoin does not know that half the articles on Coindesk.com are complete BS.

http://www.coindesk.com/inputs-io-a-high-security-bitcoin-web-wallet/

Maybe someone new to Bitcoin does not know to trace the website to a profile on bitcointalk.org and search through said users history to find out that he is untrustworthy.

Maybe someone new to Bitcoin assumes that a website that is a Bitcoin Foundation Silver Member is not a scam

Maybe you shouldn't be so insulting and judgmental. The users of inputs.io are the victims. Coindesk (and others - plenty of others) share blame for misinforming their readers (probably for personal profit). and TradeFortress is guilty of theft and fraud.

PS and maybe, if a newbie asked for advice on security on these forums, it would help if s/he got solid advice and not a 30 page discussion about disconnecting computers from the net and rolling dice 100 times, compiling code, generating keys by hand, rolling more dice and locking hand written passphrases in a secret vault (climate proof, and on non acidic paper of course)

I did write them an email

I wrote many many emails.
Yet of my 40 btc they only refunded me 10.

The website was hacked two weeks ago. As soon as they noticed that it was hacked they should have shut down.

Keeping the website up and running in the hope of attracting new deposits is fraud. Not refund all deposits made after the hack, but using those deposits to pay users who had their funds stolen by the hacker is theft.

That is why I say TradeFortress stole my 30BTC not some hacker.

ok, admittedly I'm freaking out here

But all I got from them was 10 out of my 40.

In this message: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=248803.msg3506034#msg3506034
he writes:

if you deposited very recently you should get 100%. It'll be handled on a case by case basis
but the response to that I got from inputs.io is "That was after the API hack".
My refund request yielded just 10. They owe me another 30.

Hello everyone,

Today I am very upset because user TradeFortress stole 30 BTC.

Here is how it happened.

He was running an online wallet called inputs.io. The website was hacked on October 26 and 4100 BTC were stolen. Inputs.io was insolvent from that moment on.
However, instead of shutting down, he kept the site open and looking normal. He was accepting new deposits after the hack.

I had all my btc ( about 40 ) at MtGox and decided that this was not safe and that I should look into offline storage. I moved them over to inputs.io for the interim while I read up on security. I thought inputs.io would be safer than MtGox given reports like: http://www.coindesk.com/inputs-io-a-high-security-bitcoin-web-wallet/

Yesterday TradeFortress admitted that http://inputs.io had beed hacked and said that they would distribute the coins on hand among all the users. I was given only 10 BTC.

Here is the issue: my coins were deposited after the hack! They were not stolen by the hacker. They were stolen from me by TradeFortress!

The fact that he kept the website looking normal in the hope of attacking new deposits to then use to pay off other users is fraud!. He is guilty of fraud and theft unless he refunds fully all coins that were deposited after the hack.

He should have closed the site down on October 26. I deposited mine on Nov. 2.

@TradeFortress : don't do this. don't be guilty of theft on top of everything. you must refund all post October 26 deposits in full!
