1  Local / Mining (India) / Re: [[SOLD]] 2 Brand new SAPPHIRE HD 7950 ( ONLY FOR PICKUP IN CHENNAI ) on: January 20, 2014, 02:39:36 PM
For asking price 23K each. I am glad it is bought by another miner rather than a gamer. It is probably mining litecoins now.

5  Local / Mining (India) / [[SOLD]] 2 Brand new SAPPHIRE HD 7950 ( ONLY FOR PICKUP IN CHENNAI ) on: January 02, 2014, 07:23:29 AM
I have 2 brand new Sapphire HD 7950 3GB DDR5 graphic cards. I purchased them one month back in order to setup a litecoin rig. But I could not setup the rig yet. So I am planning to sell them. The cards are un used, brand new with bills. The Sapphire 7950 cards are highly sought after among miners and very hard to find as they are sold-out every where. Based on GPU comparative charts these 2 cards put together should give you 1200+KH/s.

The price for each is 23000 INR final.

I will not ship the cards. So if any one interested to purchase the cards in Chennai can contact me and pickup the cards in person.

Send me a PM for contact details if interested. ( First come first serve )

6  Local / Mining (India) / Re: which is good GPU for LTC mining? on: December 12, 2013, 02:09:39 PM
If you are planning make some returns, then you have to invest a lot more than 15k into it.
Considering the difficulty level of litecoin, with 2000KH/s mining power you would be making around $700 first month( Based on current price). To achieve that 2000 KH/s in the most cost effective way is to get 3 radeon 7950s. These things are almost sold out everywhere. It would cost 70K+ combined. On top of it add an Asrock board, a cheap processor , 4gigs of RAM, 1000 Watts PSU, Hard disc if required or else a thumb drive, riser cables, fans, and a frame.

There is a generalized lack of clarity about Bitcoin among these journos. Hopefully the Bangalore conference can give them some clarity. Please invite some reputed media personells for the conference.

Ignorant Indian media is painting bitcoin as some sort of global scam. These idiots need to do their homework.

Can you read tamil Benson? My Tamil is very poor, but I was able to get a rough idea of this article.
It is really funny. It calls bitcoin a scam that is prevalent in USA and now coming to India. It basically advices the readers to stay away from Bitcoin.
The writer has not done even a day worth of research on Bitcoin before typing out that piece of garbage. Can someone translate this to English plz?

Bitcoin is a super secret project of the U.S. and that have understood in time, China, France, Russia.
This project serves to rob people from other countries.

Russia has never had any bitcoin exchange because he knew about that. BTC-e not Russian exchange its Europe,

More and more countries this will understand, and project designed by U. S. crashes.

So it must be a large scale conspiracy. Like they covered up the aliens landing in New York.

If RBI releases an antagonistic circular similar to Chinese Bank, what would be its impact or would there be any impact at all in the Indian BTC scenario? What do the Bitcoin veterans think about that?

I think most users are confusing buysellbitco.in with other large exchanges like, Gox, Coinbase, BTCe etc. BSB operate sort of like a single party who buy/sell bitcoin from the community. They have a variable transaction limit and their business greatly depends on the market stability. There are other individuals who do the same business here, but they do without a store front. None of them will sell BTC during a crash, because they have gained their share of experience surviving these. So it is understandable why BSB pull down the curtains during a crash.

Even I wish to put some money on BTC during this crash, but for that I should go to an international exchange where I can make instant buy/sell decisions.

Hey Jinson, well then how would you then help new users understand this when the prices are low everyone would like to buy. But as you said no body would like to sell during crash, so what will new users think that only when the price reaches at certain level they will be selling and at that time we will not be able to buy. So what should be the solution as every time during the crash it will not be willing to sell as per the previous experience. So should all time at high rates only it should be purchased. just trying to understand this.

Also, say tomorrow it goes down to 300-400 and for 2 weeks it stays at that level then in that case what will be scenario?

Hi Buddy,
This is clearly a matter of individual choice. As we speak the market very volatile. It can go up or down $100 or more within minutes. People who bought the coins for higher price might panic and sell to cut their losses. Such intense volatility does not happen often. But when it settles, no matter if it settles at $400 or $1500, normal trade resume. This has happened before. But I believe this crash will be a short lived one.

Malayala Manorama has done a box on BTC today.

The article in English

Bitcoin: Gaining popularity in South India
Chinese central bank bans Bitcoin transactions

The digital currency Bitcoin is gaining popularity in India. Records shows that the number of people doing bitcoin transactions has increased in the last 2 weeks. Portals claim that bitcoin transaction against INR has risen to 50 transactions per day. Indian Bitcoin exchange portal buysellbitco.in ( printing typo) claims that last Monday alone they did more than 70 transactions.

It is mostly the IT professionals who are leading in the bitcoin transactions. Based on the PAN card records used for transactions, city of Bangalore leads in the volume of transaction. Cities like Chennai and Hyderabad follow closely. It is estimated that there are atleast 1000 Bitcoin users in the Bangalore city.

BTC was valued at $10 last year and this year its value has increased upto a $1000. But everyday its value shows significant fluctuations. Because of this volatility people are advised to exercise caution in BTC transactions. There is a Global Bitcoin conference scheduled on Dec 14 in Bangalore, aimed to boost the awareness of Bitcoin in India.

Meanwhile, Chinese Central bank has banned BTC related transactions. It has banned banks and other financial institutes from doing BTC transactions. Central bank says they do not recognize BTC as a currency. But individuals are free to do BTC transactions at their own risk.

Prominent Chinese Bitcoin exchange BTCChina has done more than 2 million bitcoin transactions. French Central Bank warns over Bitcoin transactions. FBI has seized 26000 Bitcoins that were used for illegal transactions.

18  Local / Mining (India) / Re: Locating a 16X PCIe Riser on: December 04, 2013, 11:59:32 AM
I also had contacted the Mumbai guy, he said the same, sold out. It is almost ridiculous how a simple thing like this being so elusive.
I contacted the most seasoned comp hardware vendors in Chennai and they act like they have not heard about it before.
Guess I would keep looking.
19  Local / Mining (India) / Re: How does customs for importing mining devices work in India? on: December 04, 2013, 06:49:20 AM
Good deal if they actually ship in Feb itself. They have also kept a minimum order cap of 1000Gh, that is 10 units. Seems like a buffer to protect the miner profitability in case of delays.
20  Local / Mining (India) / Re: Locating a 16X PCIe Riser on: December 03, 2013, 07:50:06 AM
Do not mean to hijack the thread, but I too am in the same boat. My 7950s has arrived but I did not anticipate a non availability for riser cables in Chennai. Can anybody help a brother out?
I need 16x PCIe Riser cables, minimum 3 nos. I saw few listings on amazon but they had terrible review. I am looking for quality built cables.
