1  Local / India / Re: Is bitcoin arbitrage possible ? on: November 18, 2020, 12:13:03 PM
Is bitcoin arbitrage possible in current Indian market. Is anyone doing it? Also I want to know if it's legal  to do .

Yes! Arbitrage is possible in Indian market. There are always the price differences between different Indian Exchanges. Use this tool for more info: https://coinfeed.in/crypto-premiums-arbitrage-in-india

This tool will show you the INR price gaps between different exchanges for different cryptocurrencies. If you are swift enough, you can make some profits.

And yes, since there is no law governing bitcoin in India, it is completely legal to arbitrage bitcoin. Infact, you can buy/sell bitcoin any number of time, rotate your money as many time as you like and everything is fine if you are paying taxes on your profits.

Thanks for the reply .  I know it is possible theoratically but would love to hear from someone who is practically doing it .

3  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Portable Electrum Wallet Problem on: September 30, 2020, 07:20:54 AM
How do I upgrade ? And if I download the 4.0.3 version , it just doesn't open in my computer .
What operating system are you running? Newer versions of Electrum have some issues with older versions of Windows, as per the electrum download page:
Old versions of Windows might need to install the KB2999226 Windows update.

Basically, Windows 10 should work without issues, Windows 7 can be quite problematic to get running properly, since version 3.0+ of Electrum Undecided

I am using WINDOWS 7 . Maybe that's why it is giving problem .  Should I try it  on my Android phone as said above ?

I hope you had created a backup of your wallet if not then create one and then upgrade it to the new version. When you create a backup of your wallet you can access your wallet on any device by importing the wallet using backup phrase. So yes, you can use your same wallet on your desktop too.

Where do I have to create the backup ?

Hello , I have some Bitcoin in a portable elecron wallet  which is on my pen drive . Now if I try to transfer the bitcoin to an address in Localbitcoin or any other address , it says "error: server didn't respond " . My electron version is 2.9.0 , which is quite old .  Maybe this is the reason I am unable to send the bitcoin . And I am unable to upgrade it to current version . How do I upgrade ? And if I download the 4.0.3 version , it just doesn't open in my computer .

Do you have the recovery seed of your portable version? If yes then you can upgrade your wallet into new version with no issues.

https://electrum.org/#download here you can find the latest version, if you still having problem with installation just download the android format and install it into your smartphone then import the old wallet recovery seed here to get access to your funds.

Yes I have the recovery seed . But I am unable to upgrade . I have downloaded the recent version but it doesn't open . Can you put a link to any tutorial ? I will try in android too .

Hello I traded bitcoin in the past. But most of the platforms on which I traded are dead now I think. I have also lost money on coinsecure. So now which is the best platform for trading Bitcoin from India? Is unocoin alive?
9  Local / India / Re: Has anyone else recieved notice from Bank? on: October 02, 2018, 04:50:01 PM
How did the bank come to know about these transactions? Did you put anything related to bitcoin in the transaction remarks?
Or were they transfers from known exchange accounts?
I traded at exchanges . The first one (2013) was not a proper exchange I think. It was called buysellbtco.in or something like that. The recent ones are with Coinsecure. Both were not P2P.

Hello, I have recieved a caution advice notice just a few days back from my bank(HDFC) mentioning all my bitoin transactions dated back to 2013. Has anyone else noticed similar notice?  It also said ""revert within 30 days from the date of this letter or the bank will be constrained to restrict transactions in your account without any further reference to you"". Does that mean I have to write them back?
My friend received such notice from his bank last month

Has he replied to the bank?

They are also asking for Aadhar. What if someone is from Northeast. Aadhar has not been issued in places like Assam. So is it mandatory for this refund process?

16  Local / India / Re: Can we withraw BTC from Coinsecure at this moment? on: June 13, 2017, 06:18:37 AM
I am unable to see the withraw/deposit BTC button from last couple of days. Wherever I click , be it Bank or Wallet tab I get redirected to the trading page. Most likely a software issue. Can any other user of coinsecure confirm this?

Most of time it is due to session timeout, try logging out then logged in again problem will be solved or clear your browser cache and temp files.

Thats correct, if you are redirecting to the /login page and it shows trade data, the session is broken/ corrupt.
This is a security fallback. Will do a complete logout in the event this occurs.
May take some time to implement.

Hey thanks Benson for replying. For some reason I didn't withdraw at that time. But I tried to withdraw some BTC yesterday. But this time it's the email. I didn't get the confirmation email(I checked every folder). I contacted customer care and they said that it's because of Rediffmail. But I did transaction before with the same email and also with other exchanges like BTC and Poloniex. But if I understand correctly, they are saying I have to create a new Coinsecure account with a new email, probably Gmail and need to submit the documents again for verification, then they will transfer the fund to my new account.

This seems too much hassle and I don't know how long will it take. I mean I want to be sure if there is any other way out like changing the email on my current account etc. If I don't have any other option, I will have to create a new account.
