8  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INFO] HTS Harmonized Tariff Schedule codes for shipping collectibles on: February 25, 2024, 06:50:31 PM
7118.10 - Coin (other than gold coin), not being legal tender
7108.13 - Gold - non-monetary, Other semi-manufactured forms

Couldn't narrow down Gold Coins, sorry. Will try again tomorrow

Edit:

Try here, free and no limits. It's what I use at work for commodity codes for shipping.

It was defiantly BTC that started it all for me. The only two coins I really ever held were Btc & Ltc.

I mined ALL the shitcoins I could trade and converted them to BTC

Ill just leave this here but there are more!

12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / A lot has changed in 10 years! on: February 24, 2024, 05:11:01 PM
As the title says...

I am back after a crypto sabbatical of around 10 years and its a new world!

Things are so much more complex now, the amount of different networks for a start is confusing.

I am doing my best too get up to speed again (any reference points greatly appreciated)

I guess my main point is:

Years ago I created offline wallets for each of my kids that I still have control of. Back then it was easy (and free) to just throw a few sats into each from trading profits whenever I felt like it, also to my main wallet which was Multibit. enter address - set fees - send... 10 mins check blockchain and done. It's so much more complicated now. It was prohibitively complicated for non tech savy people 10 years ago but now I'm not surprised people are scared to get involved and opt for easy closed source solutions that ultimately end up in them being rugged.

So... what I would like to know is, what is the easiest way (if any) to continue to top up my kids 1BTC wallets without losing half to fees? Should I just sweep them and start again? I am reluctant to do that as they have their names in the address which I thought was cute.

As always, any advice is always appreciated & go easy on me, You'll be old soon!

Take care

I am not so inclined to agree with you on the English, it is good but there are errors that a native speaker would not make, not that you are saying that but it has been discussed a lot.

Its all very well written and the punctuation is good so perhaps I am wrong, not that it matters, I was just killing time!

I will highlight them when I get a chance.

The use of it'll & there'll is very informal and not so common.
Until we're closer to ready to start is incorrect.

Love the 10,000 Btc send, just casual as can be!

15  Other / Off-topic / Re: All responses to anything I say should be automatically reported to a moderator. on: February 21, 2024, 08:44:58 AM
Nearly all of the responses I get to nearly everything that I say is incredibly offensive. This is because the people here are braindead sickos you start posts on the attack rather than adding anything constructive to the forum.

<Snip>

This means that nearly every response to everything I say needs to be looked at by a moderator because the garbage people on this site are horrible.

IMO this forum is very lightly moderated compared to others, so much so that its a bit of a wonder that it is still going in its current format after all these years.

Your posts come under scrutiny because of your style of posting, rude, critical, offensive, off topic & non-constructive.

If you don't like bitcoin or the forum then I have to ask why you are here?

The forum and some of the people in it annoy me immensely some times but I rarely feel the need to kick off about it, I use the forum as it was designed, to gain knowledge and contribute where I can.

It would be a much nicer place if people calmed down a bit, so calm down and think before you post, if its not constructive or relevant to the conversation then don't post it, its that easy to fit in here. You could always open an off-topic thread where you can say whatever you like (within reason) and every one would be happy.

Have a great day Joseph.

I'm sure it has less flaws than if anyone else were to have attempted it, it's way over my head!

Keep up the good work, I hope it is used effectively to reduce scamming/cheating.

Just stumbled on this topic whilst doing some catch-up.

Question:

Ratters has made a total number of 507 posts, but according to archive, There are only 472 archived posts. Could this be a case of some posts not getting archived?

It's probs because I am very VERY old!

Appreciate you doing due-diligence whilst we were discussing my account revival.  Wink

19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XMR Zcash and other private coins are getting delisted from binance on: February 11, 2024, 10:42:01 AM
It's a great privacy coin, and it really is a shame merchants don't (or most likely can't) accept it.

This is the thing really, if you can't use it, it has no value and may well cease to exist.
