1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: March 22, 2018, 02:31:01 AM
My stable settings for Vegas and good power draw is core 1362@860 mem 1100@800 on Vega 64 (6x Vega = 980 - 1020 w ), on strix i have 1390@915 mem 930@815 and stable, Vega 64 amd reference give 2009 h/s and strix cards 1905, hynix memory cant get pass 1950 h/s anymore :/

wow this real? can get pass 1900 is more than enough for me. So, I must lower down my MV to 815?  and coreclock 1390 ? is that strix 56 or 64? and are u using cast xmr or xmr stak?

0,5 ETC Reward for the best answer!!!!! (If that answer works)

Hi, I'm typically getting about 1850 h/s++(This card can handle 935 mem clock) and there's 2 card only can get 1808+ h/s (If I push further more than p3 910+ I got "Invalid AMD" using xmr stak and "!Rejected, nonce invalid" using cast xmr) with my Vega 56 powercolor red devil (Hynix memory) without flashing the BIOS. Any idea how to push my vega with hynix memory? I've been following guide vega.mining.guides.com but unfortunately still same. Only got 1808-1850 hashrate. (0.5 etc reward for best answer) thankyou~~~

My rig setup : Amdblockchain driver + Following Guide circusdad (Vega.mining.guide) using powertable P3 950/900 (But, unfortunately my card can't get pass 950. Most stable setting 905-930) P7 1407/950 .

My rig spec : Motherboard Asus Z270-P , 6x Rx Vega 56 Red Devil (Hynix), PSU 2xHx850I, Intel G4400, Ram 2x 4gb team elite 2400

My real Nightmare Problem : -Crap Hashrate can't get pass 1930++ hash -If I setup AMD txt on XMR STAK with double thread intensity 1932/1932 after a few hours later got freeze and I got massage "XMR STAK Application has been blocked from accesing graphic hardware" <--- this really annoying one.

That's pretty much how much the Hynix can go as far I have seen on any results posted unless you flash it to V64 bios (unfortunately, haven't seen them around).  You can probably try running neoscrypt algo coins since those are not memory bound and might be better on these AIB cards.  Should get ~2 KH/s @250w.

hollycow 250w, so 6x vegas =1500 watt on the wall,  that will blow up my PSU lol. is there any settings consume 150-200 watt? for neoscrypt algo

You've done pretty much all you can do short of flashing the 56 bios to 64.
This would increase HBM voltage allowing you to run mem clocks closer to 1100. But that would also potentially come at a higher power cost.
Considering you've got Hynix mem, it's not a bad result you have, tbh.

The "[insert miner here] Application has been blocked from accesing graphic hardware" is something I get occasionally too even with my nVidia rig, and that pisses me off as well. Haven't yet found a solution for it.

Can't find stock bios for vega 56 mem hynix to 64 , Just got massage from my friend who has similiar card with me. He was trying to mod bios 56 to 64 and....bricked... holly shit!! thank goodness vega 56 red devil has 3 diffrent bios on em.

anyone know why I got  notify "socket error" when m mining at etn.spacepool , etn.fairhash?Huh

Update on the vega - it's running now at 2 Mh @ 230W gpu-z 1477Mhz @ 0.94 V.  Not bad Smiley
not possible, I think. Vega 1408@900mV takes > 250watt with this miner

this one GPU or GPU+Mobo? lol

I've been use this tools since 2 days ago running without a problem but sometimes I got "Invalid nonce compute failed" 25 and reject block 25  on "nanopool" after m mining like pass 32 hours , is that safe if m using this command --fastjobswitch --forcecompute --nonicehash ?
As far as I know:

--fastjobswitch :  helps if you are getting a lot of "outdated because of job change" in the stats report
--forcecompute:  use if you are not using Blockchain drivers - takes the place of changing mode from "graphics" to "compute" mode through Wattman settings in AMD driver settings.  I stick with the Blockchain drivers since CAST doc says Blockchain is still better
--nonicehash :  I use this too since the doc mentions something about memory space issues I don't use nicehash but figured it won't hurt

BUT - regarding the invalid NONCE, I get those from having too high of a memory OC.  For instance, I used the VEGAMINING guide put together by CircusDad and the settings for the Vega56's are too high for me.  I have these crappy XFX Dual Vega 56's that don't OC that well so in order to get stable hash without NONCE COMPUTE FAILED errors and lockups, I had to use the 85% SoftPowerPlay settings from his guide and dial back the P2 MEMORY down in OverDriveN from 950MHZ to 935 on one and 925 on another - same manufacturer and model, but the "silicon lottery" was not lucky for me.   That's been my experience so far - Good luck tweaking!

I see how abt I put this tuning on my run batch like stak amd :

setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 1
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 99
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 99
setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 99

is that okay?

Hi guys I got a prob with my 6 vega 56. After I follow sum instruction in this forum like disable-enable GPU, powertable mode with P7 stock 1407 :950 MaV (Bernest setup) , and then run overdriveNtools after that run CAST XMR , everything work fine until a few hours later my GUI Cast XMR just stop hashing/got frezze this really annoying I need to run again-again-again til I got really tired about this case anyone please help how to fix this case. Hi yondy12,

is this  also happening with the lastest version 0.8.5? I know that 0.8.3 could have such a problem.

Maybe use a mining monitor like cast-xmr-ui (https://github.com/anadventureisu/cast-xmr-ui/releases) which automatically restarts cast when it detects a performance drop.

Hai guys I got a prob with my rig. after m using powertable costum by Bernest (Oh, yeah btw I didn't mod bios my vega 56) and then m trying to run my vega like everybody said in this group. Disable-enable GPU on device manager, run overdriventools batch , and then run cast xmr . everything is work fine,  but after a few hours later my cast XMR GUI just stop hashing/got frezze , this really annoying , I need to close my cast xmr GUI and run again. Help me please  Undecided

auwwhh still same after a few hours again -_- my cast XMR GUI got frezze again. Maybe there's something wrong with my powertable setup. Btw, how many stock I must put on my P7 overdriventools?  I did 1407
