1  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: What if the wallet was you. on: February 21, 2014, 01:07:07 PM
By utilising the option to do this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mind_uploading

I think that anyone would be stupid to suggest that this won't be possible in the future. People will be uncomfortable with it and it won't be widely adopted for along time, but within 1000 years (perhaps more than half that timeframe) I believe all personal digital assets will be stored in the mind.

Either: regulations will mean that you can't escape it, like in Minority Report, or it will just be so normal to people by then that it won't be an issue, and people see it as the preferable method of storage and usage.

Mind recognition would be available for transactions. This could still be an anonymous act - no machine would actually need to know who you are, because it will just be matching your brain composition to your wallet, very much like a fingerprint. Your brain would just be an HD but with a unique structure, but an anonymous unique structure. You would not be giving up your details, you are simply another number to the network and it recognises your brain pattern on its database, which is synced to your wallet (which happens to be stored in your brain).

Way way into the future though...

I don't think we have to worry to get our YAC one of these days - hopefully soon.

Maybe, maybe not. We don't know that. And one of these days is not good enough, I want and expect to be able to have my own money now. Cryptsy has big time gone down in any estimations I had.

The minute Doge is offline, it's public, it's sorted. This has gone on for ages and there has been next to nothing in terms of support, or at least any reassurance.

Quite possibly they've taken it offline, gambled away all the coins and hoping we just forget about it. They could at least say something or reply to the negative comments here, on their own site: http://wiki.cryptsy.com/chatter:yacmaintence

Digger, many thanks for your post, but I am aware of where I am currently able to mine and trade. My grievance is that I had YAC that I had purchased with BTC; that I purchased with fiat. That is my money, and they are not being transparent, or even communicative about it at all. Occasionally they reply to an email, but it says the same things. They don't answer my questions, and they are being so far from transparent that it appears they are stealing people's money. I am not the only one in this situation.

My faith may be restored (albeit heavily tarnished) if it turns up again. However, in the meantime, as a matter of principle, they should tweet something about it and send a blanket email to all users of Cryptsy if it is taking this long, AND if what they are saying is legit.

All I personally want is definitive guidance as to what is going on with our money.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Disappearing YAC from Cryptsy and no explanation on: February 15, 2014, 12:43:21 PM
Hi guys,

i currently have a lot of YAC (about $400 worth) in cryptsy.

So, a little over 1 month ago, it disappeared from the site. Thats fine, I thought, just some routine maintenance.

A few days pass and I email cryptsy. They told me they have had some reversals and expect to be back online soon.

Ok, well that doesn't actually mean anything.

Another week passes, I email again. This time, no reply.

Now, 1 month down the line: 10 emails to cryptsy, with two replies (both saying the same thing). No explanation of where my money is. No indication of when it's back. No communication answering any of my questions about receiving my money. No public announcement on the situation other than some crappy excuse of maintenance.

In the meantime, lots of new coins and services being added to cryptsy.

People that are in my boat have written and complained on the cryptsy wiki page, and again, no reply from cryptsy.

This is extremely, extremely bad practice. It is dodgy as hell and regardless of whether the maintenance issue is legit (which to be fair, I believe it is not in this case); I don't care, I just want my money back.

Who else on here suffers from the same issue? Can we create some sort of petition demanding an explanation and our money back? It's becoming a joke and they are showing some serious levels of unprofessionalism here.

There may well be many people that can trade stress-free on Cryptsy. This doesn't alter the fact that they are a scam. They are manipulating the market and stealing people's money  I didn't give them permission to take or hold my money. This is stealing. I have also asked them to explain or send me my coins and they have not even responded other than a rude email saying there's nothing they can do. I disagree - they can send me my fucking coins.

Dodgy dark scam, that's cryptsy.

Apologies if I have posted this in the wrong areas.
