1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / How Will Merging Dogecoin and Litecoin Effect Their Markets? on: August 29, 2014, 01:44:06 PM
Hello Everyone,

I'm wondering what will happen after the merge of Dogecoin and Litecoin happens? I understand that you will be able to mine one or the other or both at the same time. Can you mine both at the same time just as fast as you could mine one or the other? Does this mean double profits or just diverse profits? Also, can we expect a positive or negative change in the market for these coins? I'm assuming a positive one, otherwise the devs wouldn't agree to it. What are everyones thoughts?

Wow, I thought this topic was long dead. I was really optimistic, escpecially because I mined a crap load of dogecoin. But now a days I'm feeling that I should have sold all of it when it was over 200 satoshis. Without market manipulation, I don't think we will ever see it that high again.
3  Other / Beginners & Help / Information on using APIs for websites, algorithmic trading and other? on: August 27, 2014, 08:52:18 PM
Hello Everyone,

I'm interested in learning more about APIs and how they can be applied to websites or algorithmic trading applications. I have a novice xp in html, css, sql and programming xp with c and java. APIs are completely new to me and either I'm not looking in the right place or there is a lack of documentation. The only useful documentation I have found is related to Google maps.

Can anyone out there provide some useful knowledge or direction? Is there documentation out there for the crypto exchange APIs?

5  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / GAW Miners Hashlet - Which Pool Should I Use? on: August 23, 2014, 01:44:23 PM
I recently bought a hashlet so I can conduct a review on my blog http://www.cryptorushnews.com. Everything seems fairly straight forward so far. I would like to know what pools people are using and they results they have achieved. Or if there is just an obvious answer to which pool is the best to use, then that would be nice to. The hashlet I'm using is 5 MH/s, but something confusing, it seems I can pick scrypt or sha-256 pools. Why would anyone want to dedicated MH's to mining sha-256?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: The best scrypt ASIC miner for the money available today on: August 21, 2014, 08:09:26 PM
Yeah I'm suprised as well that not very many people had a whole lot to say about this. I agree, zoomhash is probably the way to go but I have also sparked an interest in GAW miners Hashlet, seems promising.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / The best scrypt ASIC miner for the money available today on: August 01, 2014, 07:34:14 PM
I'm interested in hearing everyones opinion on what is the best scrypt ASIC miner for the money that is available today. I have done a lot of searching and it looks like zeus miner x3 takes the cake but I'm not quite satisfied. In this search, I excluded all pre-orders. I'm looking for the best scrypt ASIC miner based on price per hash, power consumption, ease of use (whether you will need a pc/raspberry pi to use it or if it has a built in web interface), if it comes with a power supply as well as noise/heat levels and finally, reliability. What are your thoughts?

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How high will Reddcoin go? on: July 30, 2014, 03:54:55 PM
I would like to hear everyones speculation on Reddcoin. I started mining it awhile ago when it was worth about 5 satoshis. Now, on Cryptsy it is selling at 30 satoshis with a huge volume of 321 bitcoins. I'm not sure what the long game will look like for Reddcoin, but I think this coin might hit 100 satoshis in the next few months if not sooner.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What happened with Brocoin? on: July 30, 2014, 02:19:27 PM
Anyone know what happened to Brocoin? I'm guessing two kids from the UK thought it would be a fun idea one weekend in February and then on Monday forgot about it. I think Brocoin would be easily marketable and one could make a quick buck on it if they knew what they were doing.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How high will Dogecoin get? DOGE on: February 24, 2014, 05:33:17 PM
I thought we would see a major increase after the halving. Although there was a spike, it is now steadily declining and bitcoin is down to about $534. Lesson learned...
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Your opinion on the best dogecoin pool and why. DOGE on: February 07, 2014, 09:28:59 PM
Hello everyone,

When I first started mining dogecoin I had a lot of troubles finding a decent pool. I was robbed and scammed several times. Then I found fast-pool and they are by far the best. Currently they are 11-13 GH/s. It has been awhile since I have done any pool shopping and a simple google search returns so many results I don't want to sift through all the garbage. The market for doge pools are super saturated right now. I would like to know everyone's opinion on the best doge pool and why. Also please post stats such as the pools total hash rate. Thanks!

If you want to check out my cheap doge mining rig visit the link below, this weekend I am upgrading the PSU and adding two more cards with powered risers. Also does anyone know if I need to put all 5 cards on powered risers or just the two I will be adding. Thanks again!

I would say - I wish all best for Dogecoin.

But this is quite impossible to reach 2000 satoshi for 1Doge.

Not soon. It would be just not realy good for all market.
Just imagine how many Doges are in use.
And count worth of it like
ammountOfDoges * 0.00002000 = Wow that much profit. (too much profit Smiley )

BUT!
I wish 1 Doge = 1 BTC one day. ( I would be so sad that I sold my Doges Tongue )

This is true, if dogecoin was worth 1 US penny today then it would have a market cap equivalent to litecoin. Although this seems far fetched, I definitely don't see it being impossible. I really hope that after the halving in about 5 days that dogecoin will rise, at least double. I would like for it to stay steady at 300 satoshis and within the next few months. Even if it does go up though, it appears bitcoin might be falling.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How high will Dogecoin get? DOGE on: February 06, 2014, 09:27:54 PM
If it reaches a dollar I will be very happy.

I concur, I will be happy with .01 USD
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How high will Dogecoin get? DOGE on: February 06, 2014, 03:33:57 PM
So say in 3 months it will be over 300? glad I am not the only one that can see it double in that much time, now if I could just borrow 1 million dollars to put into it  Wink

I think that in 9 to 12 days dogecoin will be back up to at least 300 satoshis.

it is not impossible but it is almost impossible and would be amazing if it did.
I guess it will rise again march.

We will see in about 7 days when it halves. http://cryptocoinstat.com/reward.php?coin=DOGE

Check out my dogecoin miner http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6WYnj2TJ8M. It a couple days i will have 2 more videos, one of that scrypt mining rig with an upgraded PSU and 2 more GPU's and another of a gaming/mining rig I'm in the middle of builing. Going to mine dogecoin and and play Dayz!!!!
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Need help with Dogecoin setup on: February 04, 2014, 10:18:37 PM
I had posted this on the dogecoin thread, but I guess it's a noob thing.....

I've been mining Doge on Doge.Cryptovalley (but its been down all day).

Doge is my first cryptocurrency. I've only been CPU mining so far with an AMD FX 4100 on my desktop, and a Phenom x3 on my laptop.

I have a 6570 in my desktop, but to be honest, I went with CPU because of the easy setup. Would I do better with 6570 over CPU? Is there an idiotproof guide to setup the cgminer?

I have about 2000 doge, and want a lot more.

16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Does Coin Value being halved increase Value? on: February 04, 2014, 10:14:27 PM
this is a good question.

i say no, becuase most people who do buy doge do not mine doge.  when block rewards halve it first affects miners the most, but the supply of dogecoin currently outstrips demand when you look at cryptsy order books.  i don't think surplus will change for weeks or months, if at all, after the block halving.

however, i do think when the block rewards halve a few whales will take this as an opportunity to pump-and-dump dogecoin.  I would be cautious of thinking there is a get-rich opportunity, because there are a shitton of sellers, fewer buyers, and still 70% unmined dogecoins out there.

to see the forest for the trees, in 18 months we'll have mined the last dogecoin.  i believe that will signal a genuine increase in value.  for now, i would advise mining heavily - everyone else seems to be doing this as the difficulty rose from 3xx to 5xx in a week.  I believe halving the block rewards is more of a miner signal than a signal to invest.

disclaimer i am a miner and am rich in shibe.  I also think the coin is silly, but so far it has somehow managed to work well with mining pools and switching pools that other coins cower in fear from.  the value continues to go up with supply, so i could be completely wrong.  since i hold dogecoin, i would be happy to be proven wrong.

In 18 months we'll have mined the last dogecoin? There will be an annual inflation of dogecoin by 5 billion a year forever. The dogecoin developers decided not to fix the infinite dogecoin problem. Read this article here http://arstechnica.com/business/2014/02/dogecoin-to-allow-annual-inflation-of-5-billion-coins-each-year-forever/. Don't let this freak you out though. I still support dogecoin %100 but I think the value is going to more than double after it halves and it will probably be a good time to sell. There is another thread about this that has been going for awhile, check it out at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=426382.new#new.

I think that in 9 to 12 days dogecoin will be back up to at least 300 satoshis. That is when the halving will happen. At the time of writing this, the estimate is about 9.6 days according to http://cryptocoinstat.com/reward.php?coin=DOGE.

Dogecoin is now at #13 Sad super sad

It falls in price and then jumps, I always miss the low and have to buy as its rising again  Huh I can't constantly monitor the exchanges, wish I could.

It's back up to #3, false alarm. I only monitor them while I'm at work lol

Hello Everyone,

At the time of writing this dogecoin at http://www.coinwarz.com/cryptocurrency is the 7th most profitable coin to mine. I haven't seen it that low for some time now. It usually stays within the top three and the only reason it wasn't number 1 the whole time was because of flaws in the way the most profitable is calculated. I believe this is due to the developers releasing information that stated they will not be fixing the infinite dogecoin issue, you can read more about it here http://arstechnica.com/business/2014/02/dogecoin-to-allow-annual-inflation-of-5-billion-coins-each-year-forever/. I really don't see that big of a problem though, I hope people don't start giving up now. We gotta rally the troops!!!
