3  Economy / Speculation / Bitcoin lower than $6000? Is it possible? on: February 06, 2018, 03:17:50 AM
Yes. Watch out below.  Using candlestick charting, the window that opened with the daily gap from $8000 to 9K and above closed these last couple of days. The $6000 price level was only tested once on the way up during optimism. Since the "traders" are looking for profit and protecting from losses even if there is a bounce another bunch of sellers will emerge. I think the sellers will out number buyers for a while. The traders do not have "earnings" to compare or P/E, or forward looking statements from CEOs of bitcoin. They need to protect all the money of the poor saps that traded their IRA retirement money, so there are more stop loss orders probably just below $6000. Learning from FOREX trading and stocks....if there is an order to be triggered at a significant level..it will happen. Hence the "Watch out below!"

5  Bitcoin / Mining support / S9 Special Care? on: January 28, 2018, 07:42:27 PM
Hello. I have my first S9 Antminer and wanted to know...

Any special maintenance care I should do daily, weekly, etc?

What is the right way to power off/log off the Antminer?

Anything I should avoid doing to it?

Right now things are running well. Unit is averaging over 14 Th/s and chip temps are below 72 - 68 with fans below 5000.

Part of what BTC Joe said and part encouragement to provide for the masses searching for the basic info on Bitcoin.

Don't give up, just step it up.

I too was questioning which way to invest in bitcoin currently. This is what I did...

A simple phone app bitcoin faucet generated 619000 satoshi after watching videos and downloading games for about a month. It did pay out, but many do not.

I decided to put my real money into a new rig set up and power supply, etc. I have a new Antminer S9 and a SuperNova EVGA PSU. I will mine until the entertainment wears off and hopefully the hardware will not be obsolete in a few months when I will sell it for Bitcoin.

The decision for me was do I want money or Bitcoin? I choose Bitcoin for the long run.

If all you want is profit then mining may not be the way to go as the price of BTC is dropping.

Just giving my two cents/satoshi  Wink

Thanks for the advice folks.

My preference is to just read, learn and keep quiet but if the only way to fully participate is to post...then here is my first.
