I've been investing for over a year and have been able to regain my entire principal from my investments. I am currently investing only with reinvested interests.

My general approach is to avoid borrowers that attempt to borrow more than they have been able to pay back in previous loans. I do make exceptions for small loans (< 2 BTC) with high return potential where I typically invest close-to-dust amounts.

Overall I'm happy with my BTCJam experience. The only aspect I'm sad about is that the number of available listings seems to have dropped significantly over the last 12 months. I wonder if management can maybe do more to advertise their service. As of now, good loans get gobbled up in a matter of hours as there is a surplus of lenders relative to borrowers.

After backing up my private keys from the Android Bitcoin Wallet app (schildbach), I managed to export it to my laptop and decrypt it. I then proceeded to use bitcoinj to dump the raw keys onto a data file. My objective being to look at all the single private keys I own.

The raw dump lists the historical of all my transactions along with my wallet address strings followed by entries of the form:

ECKey{pub=..., priv=...}

How do I convert the priv ECKey to WIF format? I've been hanging my head on it for days now without getting anywhere.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I recently spun up a full node on a VPS with a 90 GB hard disk. The full node has been functioning so nicely that I opted to install Insight explorer to access and visualize the node's data.

Ever since installing it and first running, the Insight database has taken up a massive amount of hard disk space and isn't done configuring yet! As I stand, when I connect to my webserver to check Insight's status, it says that syncing only at 73% (after 2 days!). I've noticed that over the past two days, the insight frontend has gotten much slower also.

Overall, in terms of hard disk space, I've used up 73 GB of space. Considering that the blockchain size is ~30GB, his would imply that Insight has filled up at least and extra 30GB.

Is this normal? Can it be reigned in? Has anyone here had any experience with setting up the Insight explorer?

Any help would be immensely appreciated.

At the current BTC prices, I wouldn't accept less than 4-5.

I don't know guys. If bitcoin were to become an actual full out, fiat defeating currency, governments will be forced to centralize all mining efforts to guarantee the stability of the financial system.

The plus side to this is that taxation for sales could be implicitly built into the blockchain since governments could collude to set transaction fees.

Exactly,  many such 3-4 btc sales happened when the bitcoin value hovered at much higher prices than where it is now.

I don't agree. The 2013s are going for 2.5-3. While it is true that graded coins are getting a higher premium, this coin is in phenomenal condition. It's been in a case ever since being received.
If I don't manage to sell it I will send it in for grading myself.
