long haul vs. short term
mining is a long term investment it may take 2-3 months to pay off the rig but once you do its mostly profit
if you by then you have to sell or hope it doesnt tank be for you do
with mining your rig just takes longer to pay off
as long as your making for then it cost to run the rig your in the black
6  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Beginners mining rig on: May 31, 2011, 07:09:57 PM
seems fine to me 3x 5830s might get you slightly more then 2x 5850s imo id go with the 5850s

14  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Persistent disconnections with Slush's pool and GUI miner on: May 30, 2011, 01:51:27 PM
may be being DDoSed again im having issues with deepbit
15  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Deepbit offline... on: May 30, 2011, 06:53:40 AM
Getting a lot of "Problems communicating with bitcoin RPC", even though the site seems to be up and everyone else says it's working.
I'm also seeing a much lower hashrate on the site than I should be.

Is it just me or is the site still fritzing?

Edit:
Doesn't seem to be happening with any other pools so I'll just assume it's a problem on their end.

getting it too and i think its killing my hash rate im 1/2 the avg i was be for this mess
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Deepbit - GUIminer hash load wrong? on: May 30, 2011, 06:49:36 AM
ok so GUIminer and deepbit both showed about 130ish Mhash/s befor the DDoS now after im still seeing 130ish in GUIminer but Deepbit reports only 50 or 80 Mhash or so

2nd im getting a msg in GUIminer "Error connecting to RPC" or some thing like that and a drop in GPU load at the same time

was working great be for the DDoS was getting 130 to 160 Mhash
any ideas?
