They are building a whole new blockchain! Using the power of the users. Brilliant! But, if lots of large social platforms do the same thing, users may begin to experience slowed CPU performance when multiple sites are open..... ??

In their article, the author discusses the congestion and cost of making p2p transactions. They state: "This is fine if you’re just speculating, trading hundreds/thousands of dollars worth of tokens at a time. But it is crippling if you’re actually trying to build an app that people use for anything else." and "So if you’re trying to build anything even remotely high-volume atop an Ethereum token — forget it. Your entire business model is catastrophically doomed at today’s prices."

How can those who want to create value overcome these restrictions? They do mention: "A lot of interesting work and research has in fact been done regarding scaling Ethereum: sharding, Raiden, Plasma".

I haven't looked too much into it other than the origiinal story and Justin's reply, but I feel as though his story is entirely plausible. Justin is a VERY common name. And, Sun said he uses his real name for accounts. Even before he responded, I didn't freak out because there could have been a million explanations. I prefer to wait a few days to see how things play out. There is so much FUD going around, it's better to not have knee jerk reactions. Besides, all of this could have been a planned PR stunt. If so, it worked perfectly!

I really love the idea of IOTA. I am concerned about the longevity of it as a tradeable cryptocurrency, though. It has been a little while since I dug into it even though I do have some, but with so many new things that have been and will be added to the IoT, the price of MIOTA will have to stabilize. Otherwise, trying to keep a globe of connected devices up-to-date on volatile pricing will be a hurdle that it probably won't be able to overcome. Last I heard, they were finally trying to get a third party to get their wallet working. I tried several versions, and could never get it to work. That, right there, is a big downside to holding IOTA.

I don't believe any country will adopt Bitcoin as it's sole currency. What is highly more likely is each country will create their own, as a few already have started doing. Perhaps after that, a new global coin will be developed that may or may not incorporate the values of the other currencies. Only time will tell and it is definitely going to be interesting!

I was just talking about this with someone. If the crypto I am starting becomes a success, I will move to another country... likely somewhere in Europe. However, I don't believe the USA is going to completely outlaw it anytime soon. Our economy needs this boost of innovation and cash flow. Regulate the hell out of it, yes. Completely ban it, no.

It would take A LOT of infrastructure to do that. But, I believe that eventually, there will no such thing as currency.... At least not as we think of it right now. There will be a Resource Based Economy.
