1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining on laptop safe if fan is 67% and temps under 70c? on: February 15, 2018, 04:07:48 AM
The 1070 in my laptop pulls great hashes on equihash.  I see about the same as a desktop 1070 at an average of 430 sols.  I do not mine with the CPU as the combined temp is higher than i like.  It is also not profitable enough.   The laptop uses about 150 watts when farming Smiley

Honestly i use an alienware laptop with a 1070 in it to mine.  I clean it out once a week from dust and temps never hit above 68 C.  I did repaste the CPU and GPU when i got the laptop. I figure i will mine for most of the warranty as if it overheats then hey they will fix it.  Also as a side note you can set the alienware laptops on 100% fan from the bios (called performance mode).  This keeps it nice and cool.

Got it up and running on my 1070 ti for zcash.  The nice part is it is much more stable on submitted shares over the past 2 hours vs DTSM or EFWB.  I like the OC when it is running and turn off when not.  Nice for gamer system that also mines in spare time.
