Hi,

What is the deal with next superblock - there is only a few recipients in it?

Code:
"Addresses": "BMNaz7o2CtsF666ShPjuKnVfVryb6FT5V4|BMNaz7o2CtsF666ShPjuKnVfVryb6FT5V4|BSqcLcFLYt3bKvoUaZ5rGURW75xgjJdQoD|BMNaz7o2CtsF666ShPjuKnVfVryb6FT5V4|BNqgAf8hgAzeAPgD1SusGo2paE8hSrDdBf|BT7dgEyWXpZtEnAJkQRF7sNJ6CxYM6dEzn|BQeC68mVmcNcG41T3qeySw6AAFjRsLRHvY|BAqBZkMieZfES9LkVgcMmMPv3E68tZt9G8|BB2BwSbDCqCqNsfc7FgWFJn4sRgnUt4tsM|BPR66Q5J1H6jyDjrnJx7BpUz1Q1HCQx4Wk|B612bu2jxWC8vo6MrPSgZXsJVzbQrETrBx|BB2BwSbDCqCqNsfc7FgWFJn4sRgnUt4tsM|BMNaz7o2CtsF666ShPjuKnVfVryb6FT5V4",

few day mining, and still don't have payout :/
I have something wrong ?

Hi,

As far as I can see you are also not scheduled for payment on block 34645.
But I am quite sure that on the superblock after that you will be in.

You must understand that the payment value for the next superblock is decided in the moment of the payment of currect superblock. IE yesterday we had payment for superblock 34440 and in that moment all the payments for 34645 were decided - the rosetta work you do today will be payed on the second superblock that follows.

Best regards,
Simon

Hmm... so I don't understand one think.
My first taks to rosetta was send exactly on 12 Mar 2018, 11:12:32 UTC... so my progress is increasing from two days.
We create two superblocks, and (like You say) I will not be in next superblock.
So I don't undesrtand why?

I guess that on the first day you didn't have UTXOWeight and TaskWeight as they should be. But don't worry all the work you have done in the past will be payed - soon or later.
Make sure you run at least one wallet all the time so it can send PODC Update transactions - you can check if you have that kind of transactions in history.
Run "exec testvote" a few blocks after 34645 and I think you will find your address and amount in there.

Best regards,
Simon

Hello,

I have some PCs running BOINC.
On 1 PC I have installed biblepaycore.
I associated this PC with Roseta.

After 3 days (Thursday till today) I get the following result:
"Command": "getboincinfo",

  "Last Superblock Payment": 0,
  "Magnitude (One-Day)": 0,
  "Magnitude (One-Week)": 0
}

and I keep getting negative payment.

Is this OK?

Hi,

You probably have negative payments for PODC Update - that is fine. The system is reporting to PODC your data.
The payment for rosetta work will come once per day on the superblock - next one is 34030.
To see if you are included in the next superblock see this post:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2388064.msg31969170#msg31969170

If your address is not in the superblock 34030 check it again after this block and I am sure your address will be there.

Simon

all rewards after update dropped about 50% less  Embarrassed

OMG successful update

Hi,

If you take a look at block 27443 which is worth 6021 BBP:
- It was divided among 328 miners
- Total sum of rewards for those 328 miners is 5247,13 BBP
- Current pool fee is 9,9% which means 6021 - 9,9% = 5424,921 for pool miners rewards

There is a difference of 177,9 BBP, but this might be due different % of pool fee.
The other thing could be that the smallest rewards aren't listed on Reports-Block Distribution.
Another thing is "Non-Participating Letter Fees" and "Personal Letter Fees" which also reduce rewards.

To me the bigger problem is that we solve so little blocks - solo miners are unbelivable strong.
I would like to apeal to all to mine using pool as this is the way to contribute for orphans. Thank you.

Best regards,
Simon

Lichtsucher I'm keen to see new version of pool.
Not sure what to do with miners now. I'm losing many hashing power this way.

Wait a little bit more for Rob to wake up. I think he will fix the pool very fast.

Simon

it looks that pool is dead after new updates   Cry
we need check all problems with pool

should i stop mining or will it still mine and just not show the coin temp?

My guess is it's not mining, because blocks move forward.
All blocks are currently solved solo mining.

Simon

Alright, the new core wallet is almost ready, but don't feel overly rushed as this version requires a mandatory upgrade for pool miners only before block 27500.  If you have a lot of pool miners to upgrade you can start pulling down the linux version (1084) now, but I will announce the release soon (when windows is ready).

Oh, you reused the version number 1.0.8.4, there is already now a Ubuntu package named 1.0.8.4 from the commit before Smiley
I will build the new one as 1.0.8.4a for Ubuntu, can the next number be 1.0.8.5 to prevent problems? That would be great.
I wasn't aware that the commit c35086028c8a2994ade90f5ff32fc8a0842c50bf wasn't a official release, as it had a version number, too.

Thanks

I see that you rebuilded 1.0.8.4 and published 1.0.8.4a. When I install on Ubuntu server 16.04 it still shows 1.0.8.4-xenial1. Is this OK?

Best regards,
Simon

Before 3-4 days I solved 3 blocks, but the wallet crashed. It also show no confirmations for 2 of the blocks (I think it was version 1.0.8.1).
After reopen the birds were gone.

Look into your Data/backups folder and I think you will find there plenty of backups of your wallet. I think you can copy and rename one instead of the live wallet. Make sure you close the BiblePay app first, and also keep wallet.dat copy. There is also many wallet repair tools under "Tools->Wallet repair".

40 threads! I wonder if would be better result with 8 (as you have 8 threads per cpu).
It's not clear do you have 1 machine with 2 x this cpu or 2 separate machines? If you have 1 dual machine, then I would set it to 16 threads.

After long hours of hard work and not enough sleep, I just finished the version of a set of unofficial Biblepay Ubuntu Deb files, available via Launchpad PPA:
https://launchpad.net/~lichtsucher/+archive/ubuntu/biblepay

There is also a wiki page for that:
http://wiki.biblepay.org/Ubunut_Packages

I hope many users will find them useful Smiley

If you want to learn more about how to build these files for your own, please visit my github project for the "Biblepay deb builder":
https://github.com/Lichtsucher/biblepay-deb-builder

There is a proposal for that, too:
http://forum.biblepay.org/index.php?topic=88.0

Great, thank you!
I was also thinking of making packages, so I am very thankful for this.

Did you get the version right - I see on https://launchpad.net/~lichtsucher/+archive/ubuntu/biblepay
Package ▴    Version    Uploaded by
biblepay    1.8.0.2-xenial1    Lichtsucher (3 hours ago)
biblepay    1.8.0.2-trusty1    Lichtsucher (3 hours ago)

Version should be 1.0.8.2 ?

Simon

I see 3075 miners at the pool with only 13% blocks mined. Why is that?
It's a 24hr average.. 8 hours ago, when I noticed the update, it was stuck at 10%.. It's creeping up slowly, and coins mined is up some 50% since this morning..
Give it another 16 hours, and then see where we are.. I think we're doing a lot better than it looks..

A quick look through the block history suggests the pool has solved 21 out of the 73 blocks since 25900..

so around 27-29% that is decent..

I hope it stays at that %, but I fear that once botnet upgrade, we will be back at 10-14 %.

I know its hard to upgrade so many devices, but 1.0.7.1 might be too old to tolerate - at least at this stage as the network isn't big enough to do it automatically.
I say lets move forward and kick them.

Is this then soft fork? It doesn't look good for this side.

Hi,

Regarding minning on the pool it looks like many users went solo, so the pool does not have powerful machines any more and it is missing most of the blocks. If this goes on for a while, some others might leave too.
What should we do? I am giving it all in a pool, but it looks pointless for now - yes I know, if we all think like that, than we can leave and pool can close till block difficulty it too high to solve in a reasonable time and most come back to pool.
Any thoughts?

Best regards,
Simon

The autocofig for mining in the wallet wrote some "pool2" in my biblepay.conf
Is this the second pool you are searching for?

pool=http://pool2.biblepay.org

No, I don't think so. It's just different DNS name for the same server.

Simon

I have no idea, and have no way of finding out.  It could either be a private pool or a botnet of actual biblepay wallets.
I know we had a botnet in China, as I received a lot of complaint emails when we forcefully upgraded from 1.0.6.7 to 1.0.7.1, they were blocked by the Chinese government, and at that time, we had 20% of our blocks being solved by 1.0.4.0 (IE what I believe was the botnet), so it could be that the botnet finally upgraded to 1.0.7.1 (see exec versionreport in the rpc).

Hi,

Thank, you. I guess China's users also has the right to mine this coin Smiley
We'll just have to do better than them, but I don't have an idea how  Huh

Best regards,
Simon

Hi all,

Regarding pool performance that went down lately. It looks there must be another pool somewhere.
It also looks that many users adapted strategy in pool mining and went from single machines with many powerfull threads to many machines (most certain virtual) and use single vcpu on them. This gave them many more shares per hour. This works ok for that particular miner alone, but i wonder if the pool has negative effect because of this - it looks like that : the poll "Blocks Mined (24 hour period):46 (23%)" is still low.

Is there a way to find if there is another pool?

Best regards,
Simon
