3  Economy / Trading Discussion / Do you buy and sell BTC in person? on: August 16, 2015, 10:02:57 PM
The only place that I have found without using an exchange site in the US to buy and sell BTC in person is LocalBitcoin. Do anyone else buy and sell any other ways in person? Do you work directly with a miner? Any other suggestion outside of an exchange?
4  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it helpful or harmful to the Bitcoin to offer products/services only in BTC? on: June 26, 2015, 04:42:51 AM
I like this idea tho the spikes and falls of BTC against local fiat currencies, currently, does not allow for fixed pricing.

I wonder... if you put BTC price tags on everything and prohibited returns, but fixed the exchange rate at your store to somewhere above market like $1250 USD/BTC. So if people wanted to pay fiat for an item you price at BTC0.5 (that you bought wholesale for the equivalent of BTC0.25 at $240 USD/BTC), they'd have to pay $625 USD.
5  Economy / Economics / Is it helpful or harmful to the Bitcoin to offer products/services only in BTC? on: June 25, 2015, 08:50:00 PM
I almost ready to open a small general store and I have been going back and forth with myself on rather its of more importance to make the store exclusively for Bitcoin, include the local currency as well as BTC, or if it makes a difference one way or other? Thoughts? Experiences? Suggestions?
6  Economy / Economics / Re: If Bitcoin was backed by Gold, how would it change its adoption? on: June 04, 2014, 12:51:18 AM
Apparently, one altcoin already has precious metal backing:

This will fail hard, google the liberaty dollar.  That is exactly what is going to happen, MERICA physically can't go kill the owner of bitcoin because their isn't one.  Merica is just going to go steal the gold and silver from whoever is holding it to back the crypto, zero questions asked.  They use the word terroism and everything is a green light.

Touche.
7  Economy / Trading Discussion / What would be the best method to purchase 60,00USD of Bitcoin? on: June 03, 2014, 07:19:36 AM
Please do include safety, exchange cost, and ease in your response.
8  Economy / Economics / If Bitcoin was backed by Gold, how would it change its adoption? on: May 06, 2014, 10:02:24 PM
If I were to create an exchange for BTC/Au how would this help or hurt Bitcoin adoption? What kind impacts would this have on cryptocurrencies?
9  Economy / Economics / Any strategy for increasing your BTC holdings? on: April 19, 2014, 05:52:49 AM
I have read many great threads lately about slow exit strategies for BTC (SSS). What strategies are used when buying BTC or increasing your BTC holdings?
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / In Your OPINION, What is the best way to use BTC to net more BTC? on: April 18, 2014, 10:04:22 PM
How can we use BTC to make more BTC for ourselves? What is the most efficient way to go about this in your opinion?
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin is unprofitable to mine & its not a good investment... on: April 05, 2014, 09:50:17 PM
if you don't want others to approve your position(like someone to contract, hire or give space for you to write), then learn to program and do bitcoin related stuff and post here, if you have nowhere else to show. If it is good stuff, sooner or later the quality will speak louder than any pre judgment and you will have your space.

What program(s) are/is necessary to learn to be competitive in the BTC world?

How does someone (like me) who believes in Bitcoin and all the power/potential it has, get started into the industry?
I don't accept the premise that bitcoin is not a good investment, though I would agree that it is a very risky investment.

What are your goals?

My goal is to be ahead of the curve. I love the idea of the power of wealth/currency back into the hands of the people. I know that BTC has been around for about 5 years now, so many people have not heard or do not even understand what Crypto-Currency is; I feel as though there is still great untapped potiential in "here"

Who says its not a good investment?

I hear quite often (here in this forum) that we are on a decline in the value of each BTC. This is what I am referring to when I say its not a good time to invest/buy.
