4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHY, Oh Why! Isnt there a DevCoin ATM?! on: December 01, 2013, 12:31:34 PM
Never heard of it. But if it become popular just like bitcoins someone will surely design a specialized ATM for Devcoin. And Robocoin might design  it as well, the firm who created the first Bitcoin ATM in the world.

DevCoin is quickly on the rise, as it looks to me, that is.
So I'm thinking it'll happen in due time.
I'm actually going to try and get in contact with them. Ill update with anything i find out!

I think that either Bitcoin is very big in 5-10 years, or another digital curerency like LTC is. Also, I don't find it very likely for someone to "take over" Bitcoins.

Oh really??

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=341940.0

Read through that and tell me is unlikely that bitcoins wont be taken over. Bit coin is "no longer an open payments system, but rather a restricted, locked down platform with central control in the form of the current certificate authority structure, blacklisting of Bitcoins, reversing transactions and much more." (from the url above.)

Its almost ignorant (Im not calling YOU ignorant, just your idea) to think that bitcoin has some sort of "force field" against someone buying it out. haha Wink

There are a lot of things happening in the world today that are beneficial to the society as a whole and there are also happenings that are beneficial only to an individual.
Now my Question is this. Where do we see bitcoin in the next 5-10 years?
If it were to be taken over by the wrong person, could the effects be devastating?
Although still in its "adolescent" stage. These are questions we must ask ourselves.

NO. Its not. It could be more time and more posts. Which in my opinion, is needed, simply because it shows that the person is actually here to be a part of whats happening.

Don't worry bitcoin is already out in the world. It's just a matter of time till it becomes mainstream.

Although bitcoin is "already out in the world" there's always room for improvement and greater action. I would like to be one of the people who look back and say, "even though I'm not the president of the company. I know I did my part in helping the movement."
So as you are entitled to your own opinion, you are also entitled to be the man in the background. Mines idea of "out in the world" is quiet different than yours.

I don't remember the exact site, but one guy came out with a bitcoin tip paper wallet for restaurants.

You leave the paper wallet, if they don't transfer in 30 days it reverts back to your wallet.

If anyone wonders a proper tip is 15% to 20% of the bill here in the US, we aren't paid a living wage.

I'm going to see if I can find the site and I will do an edit...

Edit:

That was an easy search, here is the site: https://www.bctip.org/

Haven't heard of that before! That's definitely a great way to start integrating bitcoin into society all around (small businesses, corporate, etc)
Thanks for the info!!

What can we do as a community and individuals to get the word about bitcoin out to the world?
Theres easy answers like Facebook, Twitter, social media sites. But I'm looking for a more innovative way...
