The duration of the rescanning depends on how many transactions the wallet has. That's why I do suggest to move the funds to a new wallet from time to time.
The risk here is that your funds will stop staking until they have matured again for staking.

Do not forget to make a backup of the wallet regularly.

This bcoin.io site demonstrates well the swap function in JavaScript. We should be able to compile the wallet, if we find the code in C++
I've checked the Litecoin repo on Github to get an idea of the swap function, unfortunately I couldn't find any related info on swaps.
It is not documented in the code

I've just investigated the Blocknet DX and checked all requirements for listing HBN.
Unfortunately HBN wont work on Blocknet DX, because the current HBN wallet (HoboNickels-2.0.1.0) does not support CLTV Atomic Swaps.
We don't get around to update the wallet.

1# We would like to Tranz coming back and pickup the project. But the last post was from October 18, 2019 and he told us the future is uncertain because he does not have the time. The last online time on bitcointalk was on January 14, 2020

2# Due the outdated .info website we decided to build a new .io website, to promote new developments and have access the community. The worst thin in crypto is an outdated website with security issues..

3# Regarding the spammy Discord channel, I agree with you and like to move to a new Discord channel where we have full access and we are able to

The medium.com post sound good, unfortunately the post is from 2018 and their website is down as well.

ERC token is a money burner to interact with it.
A bridge solution could work with a 2nd layer to minimize the expenses for transactions. Or even lay the focus on other chains like BNB or even THETA etc.

Yes, maybe this can be done with a bridge development.
Do you have knowledge in development?

Primarily the activity of the development and the community will secure survival.
I have set up some activities in the years to keep the project alive. But this will not withstand the duration.

The PoS-Algo has some flaws and the issue of new coins is too fast.
There must be a bugfix.

There are some way to continue the project. But we need a developer that can to the changes.

As seen in the Twitter contributions, we are officially looking for a developer, since Tranz has not shown up for a long time now.

As I said, I do not want to decide for the community as it is an open source project and does not belong to me.
The decision at the end must be carried out in the consensus with the community.

If you know a developer, just ask him for help. I'm sure, the community will pay him for updating the blockchain.

Thanks for setting up a new block explorer.
I think your explorer is not doing the PoS handle correctly yet.

According to me, the block 6710608 was mined with PoS and generated 9.563784 HBN.
1460.27161700 HBN were used as staking amount by the node as seen in transaction 06ab865562e62b70b4769b96ed242c05f740d8ab3fb05e75357935a93418ef07

The staking amount and the generated PoS amount were combined to
1469.835401 HBN and paid to Exo1y1UMU5nJ8NBBRcyzXzbGaam in transaction a8abb4867db6052a03414da8b163c14389f095f3941876d3462624d69fcbfa75

Just to be clear.
Our motivation is NOT, to make any progress in this project to dump a bag against BTC on a later stage.
If this would be the motivation, we would never take care on several levels in this project since 2017.

We made our money in the early stages of crypto and want give something back that makes fun.
It's also not the claim to develop something that "matters" to the blockchain technology itself.
There are lot of projects, teams and competition doing so out there.

To ask a community to fund for "development" is a way to get the people involved again. It a social tool to drive the community.

In first line for us it's fun to be a part of a small cap project that almost everyone gave up.
With more activity the more attraction, the more drive, the more fun.

Yes, we have been observing DMD and other projects doing this snapshot procedure. This seems to be a legit way to let the existing old chain as it is.
We guess it would be a good a perfect way to fire up a new project by forking from HBN and make a rebrand of it.
With it the HBN would be unaffected and some OG's could profit from issuing thw 1:1 amount on the new chain.

The uncertainty that Tranz will show up one day to make any development progress on the core wallet still exists. We as well the  community would appreciate a comeback. Our intention is in first line to strengthen the HBN project in a way. With a complete fork to Ethereum or another chain it will not be sure if the project becomes more attractive. Also we guess the newbies would become confused about the coexistence of the both chains.

We focus now to finish litewallet for HBN. Every further development we are open from the inputs of the community.

The ratio 10:1 was selected for the burn process for starting the erc-20. Well, the finalization of the ratio is not final. We'll likely increase that ratio to 1:1 in the near future. The 10:1 ratio that has already been burned will be credited to the users. But it still has to be worked out in order to be shown in a nice circle chart at the end.

Yes, we agree that ETH is currently struggling with the gas price for erc-20 transactions. We look forward to the EIP-1559 upgrades and are also testing Layer 2 solutions such as OMG network. Another candidate is THETA, which we are keeping an eye on. Maybe we can combine the best of both worlds!

In any case, all comments are welcome. We don't want to do something alone here.
The HBN community should actively participate in shaping the future of HoboNickels.



A rebranding is always risky when there is almost no one who wants to take care of it. It can lead to the final death of the project if people fail to see the rebranding in public.
Even if there are no developments, it's a shame for a rebrand.

To be honest, at the beginning I didn't know what hobonickel was. After doing some research I can say that the name is perfect for getting into NFT's.
HoboNickels are rare coins that are created as unique pieces by artists. (DYOR)

With SmartContracts and NFT we would have the opportunity to draw interest to HoboNickels as a project and increase demand.

Hobo is an erc-20 token and hobotoken.com offers to burn HBN to get HOBO in exchange at 10: 1 ratio. Yes, its still valid.
We still have exciting plans to develop on this and will come up soon with news.

But, the next step by now will be the HoboNickels litewallet to be release. This should help newbies get on the train more easily.
