1  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin Has A Lower Value In Binance on: July 09, 2023, 09:15:57 PM
Omg I'm so confused.  Sorry for not mentioning binance.us in the OP.  I've always been using binance.us for many years and the btc, eth, and all other prices have always been consistent.  Why are they lower now?
But still I'm curious that you are actually using the official app (if that image was captured as of today). I have looked at the binance us chart more closely, no btc/usd price has even gone below 30k since the close last June.

The price diff between US and Global is not very significant at this time.

So is there anything I can do or am I screwed and out of thousands of dollars?
You're not screwed, your money remains to be there. I've checked the binance.com and binance.us and compared the price of bitcoin for both platforms.

Spot:
On Binance.us, BTC = $28,645.32

On Binance.com, BTC = $31,130.03

There's really a big disparity for both platforms price for Bitcoin and the reason was mentioned by Bitmaxz and usually, exchanges from here and there do have difference with their rates.

Wow, that sucks.  I hope the disparity doesn't get worse.

Yes, I'm using the Binance.US app.

So this is the issue, your app isn't "Binance" but "Binance US" which is different from each other and has separate regulations.
The sub-$31,000 price that other have shown you and the one you're seeing in the web are for Binance.

For more info, you can use the Google Search the term "is binance us and binance the same".
There are countless articles about it in the search results.

Your "favorites" looks familiar but it's different from the version installed in my phone, version 2.66.5.

Are you sure you're using the correct app and not a fake clone based from the old version?
Can you give a link to the app that you've downloaded and tell the version that it shows in "Settings->About Us".

Version 3.2.0.  Downloaded binance.us app on Google pay store on my Galaxy y s10e.

Can you tell me another way I can post screen shot?
Upload the image on talkimg.com and post the url here.

Mentioning the picture for OP.
What i think from the pic is: from which section you have took the screenshot because i an't seeing anything familiar on my exchange (Binance) and your pairs are also in USD instead of USDt. Are you newbie to use Binance or you have used it before.

Because the difference is huge and can you at least give the time stamp of the screenshot when you took it.

Didn't work.  I uninstalled and reinstalled it and logged in and its still lower.  I also restarted my phone.  I also checked the value by logging in via PC and its still lower.
It's a network glitch certainly in your end. Trying removing cache/data of the app and then start again. We all can see the actual price while only you can see a wrong price. The price isn't updating on your device.
When my internet connection is slow, I also observe the same issue in my Binance app.

Edit- Can you post a screenshot?

I tried but it's giving me problems.  It won't let me copy and paste.  Can you tell me another way I can post screen shot?  Clearing cache and data also didn't work.

This is not fasle news or a rumor.  I've checked it a thousand times, bitcoin is lower in my Binance app.

Binance is an exchange with very high trading volume and liquidity. It's very unlikely that Binance would have that much of a spread difference knowing the fact. Your app is probably borked; probably reinstall it.

What the Hell is going on?  The value of Bitcoin in the Binance app is $29,125 but when I Google it, its $31,323?!?!?
First of all this is not the right place to talk about price of Bitcoin. You should move this to Speculation board where the topic of discussion is about the price of Bitcoin.

Don't share such a false news like this because In last 3/4 hours Bitcoin didn't dump under than 31k level. So you should check it again and never rush into creating this kind of fake news again and don't spread rumors in this forum.
Here is the 4 hour chart of Bitcoin price:

So does every cryptocurrency including bitcoin and altcoins have their own different type of blockchain?
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Understanding NFTs on: January 02, 2022, 04:31:07 AM
They are not "coded into the ethereum blockchain". The media file is still uploaded on either a centralized server, or through IPFS. The only thing that goes into the blockchain(unless you're using something like Arweave) is the digital signature.

So a painting, music, video game NFTs are all uploaded to the server but the blockchain is only there to confirm authenticity of product via digital signature?
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Understanding NFTs on: January 02, 2022, 04:20:40 AM
In simple word. NFT are unique digital assets that cannot be replaced. You can view them but you cannot edit, replace or change them. It started with Ethereum Blockchain but has no shifted to other Blockchains like BSC, Solana and Matic becuase of cheap transaction fees.

So lets say I bought a 7 second clip from the NBA showing Lebron James dunking on two people and made it an NFT.  Let's say the same video is on YouTube.  First, how do I get/transfer a clip like this or another example like a painting I made on the blockchain?  What makes NFTs unique?  Is it that I will be the only owner of the clip on the blockchain.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Understanding NFTs on: January 02, 2022, 01:33:47 AM
NFTs are just digital art, music, video games, etc. that are coded into the ethereum blockchain, correct?

I tried using the search bar to find previous posts but kept getting error message.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Best Altcoins to Buy During Dip on: May 27, 2021, 07:40:39 PM
So I own bitcoin, ethereum, and binance coin.  What are the best altcoins to invest in during this dip?   I'm considering ethereum, binance, and litecoin.
