Thanks again, Biffa.  I'm on board with everything you said.  Just curious, are we not paid with any sort of transaction fees now?  I thought that was the #1 way we were getting paid with Blocks being found as a bonus.

drumsticks, it works the other way around too.

Sometimes we might go a few days and only find one block, and other days we find a few blocks in one day. In the end, over time it evens out to around 100% of what is expected.

That "over time" bit depends on the size of the pool, this is called variance. The larger the pool the smaller the variance, so that it evens out to 100% of expected in a shorter time.

At the moment I would say we have good months and bad months, but over a year we hit 100% or greater expected return.

When all the bitcoins run out, we will be mining for the transaction fees, but that won't happen for a long time as there are nearly 4 million blocks yet to mine.

Thank you, Biffa.  I didn't realize we were paid only for finding blocks.  I thought finding a block was like an added bonus of some sort, not the only way we get paid.

My understanding is completely incorrect now and I will have to reread how this all works.  I was thinking the average of the difficulty was supposed to help even out our payouts but I don't see it actually working out in this manner.  Especially, when there is no payout for 5 days and nothing to come of it after all of that time.  That's a lot of cost and time for nothing. This is not a complaint, but a realization that there is more risk to mining in this manner than I was thinking originally.  I was anticipating a payout on almost a daily basis, but it's far from that after seeing recent payouts over the past couple of weeks.  Basically, there are times where we could essentially get paid nothing for offering our service.

What happens when all of the BTC blocks are found?  Are these ASICs basically rendered useless?  I understand that the ASICs are meant for SHA-256, so maybe Bitcoin Cash or another SHA-256 crypto is what we would be forced to switch to?  Is this what would have to happen?

Thank you.

Is anyone else experiencing this or could there be something wrong happening with just my account?

Thank you.

No thats correct, and tallies with my payouts.

You only get payouts when we find blocks, and only then after 100 confirmations of that block.

Hello Kano Members,

I have been running a few ASIC miners here for a while and usually see that sometimes it takes a few days for payouts to catch up.
Recently,  I have been seeing payouts maybe every other day and then between May 3rd and May 8th, there was no payouts happening.  Since then, there was two payouts on May 9th and then one payout for the 11th, 13th and 14th of May.  There was one day where my ASIC miners went down for about 1/2 a day over this past weekend, but I don't think that would have caused any issues for what seems to be missing payouts.  Is anyone else experiencing this or could there be something wrong happening with just my account?

Thank you.

Thank you for your response and expertise.  I had already read everything in the Help>Payouts section on Kano.is, but being new, it's slightly over my head about the nuances of how it works.  What you expressed about the wind up and wind down actually help put it in perspective much easier than what I read in the help section.  That was a helpful analogy, so thank you for that.

If there is an average of 5 days to help make things more consistent, what doesn't seem to be consistent still is the payout on average.  I will search for more information in this forum to attempt to answer my own question.

dThank you, again, for your great explanation and how this group can possibly treat the naive.

It's not that big of a deal, we've all been there (myself included). We've had an attempt to simplify it a few times in return for a large sum of terahash for a reward and still could not quite get it to click for a member. Everyone has their own way of understanding so whatever works.

I originally meant the pages in the thread you can find almost any answer to, but it can be daunting to search all of the pages. Don't be afraid to ask, I was just warning you if you get some responses that come across as impatient, do understand there is a reason why.  Grin

Understood.  Thank you.   It all makes sense, so far.  :-)

Hi Everyone,

I am rather new here and have a couple of questions.  It seems that the giveaway is quite old, am I correct?  I would assume there are no giveaways at this time?

Also, I have been mining using Kano for a couple of weeks now.  For some reason, my last payout took 4 days and it was just the minimum payout of just over 0.001.  My payouts previously were almost every day of the same amount.  What am I not understanding?

Thank you for any help.

There's quite a bit you probably won't understand unless you do some reading in the forum pages. I guarantee you will find the answers to these concerns as they are brought up quite frequently.

In short, the 7 BTC giveaway is explained on the first page and is for very large miners.

Payouts are sent in the next block found.

The payouts below the minimum are considered dust and will be sent when the code is worked out by Kano.
If you've been here for 2 weeks then you are "ramped up" which is just an average of your shares over the last 5x Network Difficulty . These shares and your work is not forgotten, just spread out so if you unplug, lose power or leave, the payouts will keep paying and ramping back down your average until it hits zero.

For more information, you can look further into the thread or ask a more specific question and most likely get an answer. Just keep in mind these are asked repetitively and you may come across some salty responses.

I believe ANTMINERSTORE.COM is a SCAM website.

If you look at the About page, there are a series of certificates.
I zoomed in on those certificates and found a couple of them with Best Source International, Ltd. as the company name.
I looked up Best Source International which is a company that resells in Alibaba.  I did some other research and found that a lot of scammers are using parts of Best Source's website because Best Source is viewed as a trusted company.  Best Source took a hit because of all of the scammers and they have taken action to remove as many as they can.  This one is still lingering.

Also, antminerstore.net's phone number is masked using google voice with an area code number from Arizona.
