Time before the new documentary

Watch The Hunger Games Catching Fire Online  The first talent import to hit U.S. airwaves since NBC reworked The Voice, Rising Star is either a sign of people’s further lack of an attention span, or an attempt to make watching the show live more important. The voting process has been completely revolutionized, and will push viewers to use their second screens via a dedicated app that allows for voting to occur not just as the show is airing, but during the actual performances. If the singer reaches a specific percentage of positive votes – 70% in Israel – then he or she gets to move on to the next round. And unlike American Idol and The Voice, Rising Star will avoid taped auditions, opting for live performances from the very first episode.

Watch Thor The Dark World Online  But the real gimmick is the more interesting one. Instead of standing in front of judges or an audience, the acts will perform behind a translucent floor-to-ceiling LED screen that will display images of home voters via their Facebook pages, and it will also show the performer a real-time tally of the voting, so they can tell exactly how well they’re doing as it happens. That sounds like it would be even more nerve-wracking than belting something out in front of Simon Cowell on The X Factor. I like this idea from the angle of making the challengers more aware of their situation, but it seems like it’d make DVR watching irrelevant since non-airtime votes won’t count. I realize some people watch competitions shows without the urge to show favoritism via phone, but late-watching voters still make up a good chunk of the viewing audience.

Watch The Hunger Games 2 Online The show has been a ratings bonanza in Israel, and ABC won its own competition in landing the show, which Deadline reports it is looking to air during the summer of 2014 for a 10-episode run. The real question here is how long it takes other shows to try and match Rising Star’s lean on technology. For an idea of how that tech works, take a look at The Amazing Rabbis below with their not-too-shabby rendition of Simon and Garfunkel’s hit “Sounds of Silence.”

Watch Thor 2 Online The documentary will hit HBO's schedule next month, airing for the first time on December 9 at 9 p.m. ET. Repeats will air on December 12 at 9:30 a.m. ET and 6:30 p.m., December 15 at 11:45 a.m. ET, December 17 at 12:30 a.m. ET, December 20 at 10:45 a.m. ET, and December 28 at 2:00 p.m. ET. Additional airings will occur on HBO2 on December 11 at 8:00 p.m. ET, December 23 at 10:15 a.m. ET, and December 26 at 6:05 p.m. ET. NBC says the songs featured in Season 4 of The Sing-Off will be made available on iTunes the day after each telecast. Season 4 of The Sing-Off debuts Monday, December 9 at 9:00 p.m. ET on NBC.

There’s still a little bit of time before the new documentary airs. In the meantime, here’s a look at one of the songs that started it all and will play a big role in the new documentary. “Something’s Coming” was a collaboration for West Side Story, created with music from Leonard Bernstein. Just the other day, we shared the news that NBC has set the dates for their two airings of the classic film. It’s A Wonderful Life will air on NBC December 14 and again on Christmas Eve. And now it looks like we have a sequel to anticipate. A visit from Ron Burgundy would have been about the best thing that could have happened to my college in 2005, when Anchorman was still a cult hit and a friend who could tell you that "milk was a bad choice" was someone in the know on one of the best under appreciated comedies of our time. Now that Anchorman is a hit that's granted a big-budget sequel and huge marketing tie-ins, does it still have the same underground appeal to college kids? Maybe not-- but that doesn't mean the hype around Will Ferrell coming to campus won't be able to mask it anyway. The influence of Ron Burgundy continues on, and will even after his School of Communications has sadly come to an end. Reunite with your favorite newsman when Anchorman 2 comes to theaters on December 20. In the meantime you can find Ron Burgundy still pitching for Dodge Durangos, and in the latest trailer for the movie; both videos are below.NBC is making some strides with next season’s lineup. While its Thursday night comedy block continues to falter, the network has greenlighted a pilot for a half-hour comedy endeavor that is rolling with the title Bad Judge. The project is one of last year’s castoffs, but new life has been breathed into the project thanks to Kate Walsh’s attachment.
