1  Economy / Speculation / Re: I AM HODLING on: December 18, 2013, 10:24:09 AM
This was too good on opportunity though. Surely it was pretty easy to react to the bad news from China?

I sodl half my coins at $730 and i'll get em back at a later date when this all stabilises.

I was planning to hodl through everything with my Bitcoins after I had a bit of a panic during a previous crash. But seemed crazy not to sell this time...

If anything, I probably should have cashed them all out but you can never be sure about anything with BTC so half seemed the "safest" thing to do. win/win.
2  Economy / Speculation / Re: Let us take a moment to laught at the BTC day traders. on: December 11, 2013, 03:06:21 PM
I don't get the hate for day traders. It's not like they're selling crack in a tower block to kids.

I'd do it myself if I had enough Bitcoins and the time to watch the markets. If anything, I'm jealous of the ones who make money day trading... not resentful.

Fair play to them. It's the only guaranteed way to make money out of Bitcoin. Holding, which I'm doing, is certainly no guarantee of some big pay off at the end of this rollercoaster we're all on.

I don't really understand the aggressive nature of this thread  Huh

Cashed out 1/6 of the wallet when China news was announced... USD987 / BTC
Oh, i regret this now... i panicked. Sad

Hello, I am new! (been lurking for months though)

I panicked during the Silk Road closedown crash and tried to sell bitcoins i'd bought for ~£100 a piece for $110 a piece. I was chucking in the towel. The bitcoin dream was over for me. I was prepared to take a tiny profit and run.

Fortunately the guy on localbitcoins.com I chose to buy my coins sent me an e-mail saying he hadn't got the funds. During this time the price dropped under $100 so i decided to bite the bullet and hold.

I'm kind of glad I did now Smiley

First post so naturally i'm just going to write "several sentences" of complete junk cos that's what i've gotta do. Been a lurker here since a few weeks before i bought my first coins months ago.

Finally convinced the mrs that buying them was a good idea when they were about $85. She wasn't happy about it though. I tried to explain to her the complexities of bitcoins and how the whole world might be on board with them in a few years time but she hasn't really been convinced until the last few weeks. when they went to $200 she was practically begging me to sell them but i told her it was gonna get far bigger and i wasn't gonna sell.

You should see her now, she's scrabbling around for extra money to buy in after the next big crash, whenever that will be.

That's my first post out the way. So i keep seeing stuff about 5 posts? do i really have to spam 5 posts in here to be able to post elsewhere? pfffffffffffffft.
