The latest version doesn't seem to work for mining SAFE. I get this message - "Error: No coin profile find for coin SAFE".

v0.38 still works fine, so I can use that for now. Would be grateful for a fix Smiley

Anyone can say anything they want about who did what to who when and why. None of that has any relation to the fact that the banned txids were legitimately mined by anyone's definition and not allowing the miners to have what is rightfully theirs (earned with legitimate GPU hashpower by any definition) is actual stealing of currency (not just metaphorical).
...[some more stuff that proves KMD hacked SafeCoin]....

The coins I am referring to in the banned txids are not from any "exploit", you silly fekwit.

Right, name calling - very mature. That really strengthens your argument. And more bold text - it must be the truth!

If it wasn't an exploit then you are claiming that it wasn't a bug either - and yet the KMD lead developer (who orchestrated the whole thing) offered to help patch the code. If it wasn't a bug, why would a patch be needed? So it was a bug, and therefore it was an exploit. QED. Maybe I should make some of that bold...

Time to stop feeding the trolls I think. I have no affiliation to Safe. I'm not even mining it at the moment, but I will hodl what I do have because it looks like a strong project and a good team. Fortunately I dumped all my KMD for a decent price in December.

Please remember - just because you type something in bold, it doesn't make it true!

The Earth is flat!
Adolf Hitler was not a mass-murdering fuck-head!

See what I mean?

Those coins were not "legitimately mined by anyone's definition". In fact, the only people claiming they were legitimately mined are people from the KMD community. It was a bug - are you still trying to claim that it wasn't a bug, and was therefore desired behaviour? It was exploited for personal gain - are you still trying to claim that these actions were morally and ethically the "right" thing to do?

I am amazed (and more than a little disappointed) that almost 3 weeks after the original attack, these people are still trying to defend their actions.

For those of you not familiar with the terminology of programming (from Wikipedia): "A software bug is an error, flaw, failure or fault in a computer program or system that causes it to produce an incorrect or unexpected result, or to behave in unintended ways". Will you admit that both (attacks | hacks | legitimate mining activities) exploited a bug in the SafeCoin code?

https://adnetexplorer.com/

but the page is not working at the moment, still, coins are arriving to wallet from mining on https://minergategpu.org/

I'm no expert, but I'm seeing some weird transactions on the explorer. Compare these two, for example:

https://adnetexplorer.com/tx/854bcd027a8745a1e26901acc540449bfe385d8b7a585b6ab4e43c23884df86a
https://adnetexplorer.com/tx/2b381892e2193d294a7ffc9a358461ef6b5ffc133aaf59c3bf4420cd78da1967

They both come from the same address, which is the minergategpu pool. The destination addresses of the second transaction correspond to the miners on the pool, including my own. But where are the coins from the first (larger) transaction going? 15 minutes later an almost identical transaction appears on the explorer, another 400 coins. And another one, 6 minutes after that. That's 1200 coins in 25 minutes sent from the minergategpu pool address, not sent to the miners?

The number of coins I am getting doesn't compute - at one point I was providing about 1/3 the (reported) network hash. At 100 coins every 2 minutes I would expect around 1000 coins per hour, but I'm getting nowhere near that. Is there another (hidden) pool we don't know about that is mining to the same address as the minergategpu pool? The explorer doesn't let you view addresses, and the pools don't show what blocks have been mined, so it's hard to see where the coins are going. I'm concerned about the lack of transparency between the pools and the explorer. Can I trust a pool that doesn't show which blocks are being mined there?
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SAFE][dPOW] Safecoin - Komodo Fork - zCash Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: March 24, 2018, 12:35:21 PM
The behaviour of the Komodo devs and community members has been shocking throughout this. They identified a bug in the Safecoin code, but instead of informing the developers they decided to exploit it for personal gain. To quote jl777 from their Slack - "as it is getting a million SAFE seems ok". Other users were encouraged to exploit the bug, laughing that "We are all busy getting the easy SAFE blocks".

They defend themselves saying that they were mining "according to the coin rules". They were not - what we saw was obviously not the desired behaviour of the block chain, so they were exploiting a bug. IANAL, but in some countries exploiting systems for financial gain is a criminal offence. They should be careful. They also claim that they didn't know the effect their exploit would have on the diff - what I think they really meant was that they hoped it wouldn't have such an effect of the diff and that they wouldn't have been found out so soon. As far as I am aware, no apology has been forthcoming from those involved in the exploit.

The Komodo devs seem very keen to place the blame with the Safecoin devs - "it's your own fault", "you're incompetent" etc... Should the Safecoin devs have fixed the bug before launching the coin? Probably. Is this a copy-paste quick premine clone of Komodo? I don't know. But does that excuse such a blatant attack on the network? Certainly not. The responsible thing to do would have been to inform the Safecoin devs in a private message and worked together to fix it.

I am not affiliated with Safecoin in any way, I'm just a miner. I have mined Komodo in the past, and I think they have some good technology. But I certainly won't be mining any Komodo from now on.

Actually now a member of the community built a new pool. http://mybitcoinzfreedom.hopto.org:31/getting_started
It's the same member that helped BTCZ get on Coinomi. He deserves our help.
I make a call to the miners out there to point some workers on his pool. He is just at the beginning and he needs some hashing power on his pool to get it up.
Let's move on there and help this guy out. He is a real member that tries to bring value to BTCZ and we should try helping him out like he is trying for BTCZ.
Move there for a week and after that, if you don't get the right coins, we shall move back to where we were before.

Thanks in advance.

It’s a new pool and it has small hash rate. You get paid rarely but with bigger amount. You get a bigger percentage of the block.

Definitely not a scam pool - I found the second block, and was rewarded with 4018 BTCZ, plus an extra 1500 BTCZ finders reward.

The only problem is the low hashrate. Keep mining and you will be rewarded.

and if we cant find any block we dident get reward or btcz ?
how many days must we mine to get reward?

Finding the block will get you the extra reward, but if you have submitted shares you will get a proportional payout from the 12500 that block represents. So (very roughly speaking), if you submitted 1% of the total shares you would receive 125 BTCZ. Things like PPLNT and block finding rewards make the actual calculation a bit more tricky, but you don't have to find a block to get paid.

If you are looking for a new pool, I highly recommend the Ragnar pool at http://pool.bitcoinzguiding.ovh.
its (pplnt) better than normal mining? i get about 240 btcz in 24 hours if i go for pplnt any chance to get more btcz?

Better? Yeah, probably - if you don't pool hop. This site has a good explanation of PPLNT - https://minez.zone/faq

Help pls. Why my local wallet dont give me POS award.
40 coins balance - says expect reward 2-3 days, but the next day nothing has changed... and the day after
share pos - 0.
maybe something need, to register to get the pos reward?

Could just be random variation - I got 3 rewards in 2 days, then nothing for 5 days. Didn't need to do anything other than keep the wallet open. And I only started with 12 NMS.

Came to know what is possible about this coin, I've been told a lot about it, I'm seeing your information right now, 21 billion coins, too much. Can miners make profit from mining now ?

21,000,000 Bitcoin at $12000
Is like
21,000,000,000 BitcoinZ at $12

So to me the value of this coin is at least $12 if you think of it as the same value as Bitcoin.

It costs $17 to transfer $50 of BTC to someone!
It costs $0.001 to transfer $50 BTCZ to someone!

BTC is centralized and controlled by Bitmain and a bunch of cult like followers who can't even implement Lightning.

BTC , with lightning, will lose its most important features, block chain won't show transactions within super nodes, super nodes will centralize it even more, and super nodes will have private keys potentially  exposed to public. Ligtning network is basically like transactions you make inside am exchange , they won't show up on public block chain which is the best part of BTC mow going down the drain . there is no other solution .

BTCZ has huge potential..

Just have to keep it quiet and keep mining and keep accumulating for the huge payday.

Just remember

BTCZ = 0.00100000 BTC in value

But currently trading at only 0.00000100 BTC

That means it has 1000x potential to grow to match BTC market cap.

Huge potential. Just need to keep the developers focused and keep this thread quiet for a year or two.

2020 is the year for BTCZ

That calculation is based on the assumption that BTCZ matches the market cap of BTC which is an optimistic statement. I hold BTCZ myself mainly mined it at the beginning and I am also bullish but need to be realistic too.

Although BTCZ matching the market cap of BTC is very optimistic indeed, the principle of what brooklynite1 was trying to say is totally correct. So many people seem obsessed with the high supply of BTCZ, when it really should be seen as a positive feature of the coin.

It's simple maths - there are 1000x more coins (once they are all mined) than BTC, so multiply the BTCZ price by 1000 to get an idea of the relative prices. That puts one "Mega"BTCZ at about $13 compared to $12000 for one BTC. BTCZ is way undervalued, so hold hold hold!

BCH $100,000... dafuq. Expecting $10 is unrealistic. Even $0.25 would be incredible as that's a 100 times increase from $0.0025 last month.

Already up to $0.02 - so that's an 8 times increase in one month. Most of that increase came in the last two weeks. At this rate we could be at $0.1 before the end of the month (well, maybe next month).

I don't think $10 is realistic either - but $0.25 certainly is.
