1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: RIPPLE OR LITECOIN on: February 16, 2018, 01:32:39 PM
As an investment piece, Ripple will make you money too, it's all about where the volume is moving. Last week Litecoin in hindsight was the better investment. I'd say today you could argue that Ripple has a good chance of making you more in the coming weeks.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still support Ethereum? on: February 07, 2018, 04:44:30 AM
Ethereum needs to continue making improvements and they'll be fine. So many ERC20 based projects that it feels like they've got a great lead right now. Competitors are creeping up, and that's always good to keep some pressure on the leaders to keep evolving.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: how much can ripple grow? on: February 07, 2018, 04:27:40 AM
Centralized coin, can't sit well for those that support decentralization. Unfortunately, most of the general public won't have any idea why that's good or bad. If they see value and that there's money to be made, they will certainly buy into it.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The END is NEAR! on: February 07, 2018, 01:20:29 AM
Amazon would make so much money launching their own, but how many of us would love to see them accept a large number of major cryptos. Just like Visa, Mastercard, American Express doesn't it bode well to give the consumer multiple options? Especially this early in adoption, they could make a killing collecting them now and having them worth XX times in 5 years.

Maybe even launch their own and offer a slight discount on items if paid through AmazonCredits. That way every digital payment consumer wins.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS - Asynchronous Smart Contract Platform - (Dan Larimer of Bitshares/Steem) on: February 07, 2018, 12:25:45 AM
Thanks, this is helpful. I'm curious as to how feel about the current list of dapps using EOS to launch and their potential for success. Part of me wants to jump in, and I'm looking for several large scale projects to develop with EOS. Success will be dependent on having the largest usage rate possible if we're thinking about it as an investment when everyone is fighting for a larger slice of the pie.

With all the crash happening, makes me wonder, how come DeepOnion staying strong and stable at 0.0004 Just fantastic, the only coin in my bag with alot of value

Speaks volume about the community behind this  Grin Grin

I'm sure all of you started noticing some projects that loss less against their BTC pairing during this correction. Great way to keep tabs on how much HODLer support there is for certain projects.
DeepOnion was definitely one of those gems.

Waiting for it all to come back will take some patience. Feels bad now but we can take comfort knowing it will be out of the basement at some point this year. Still holding all of my onions right now even though I'm not qualified for the airdrop yet. Stay strong!
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [AMLT] The Token of Compliance by Coinfirm on: January 30, 2018, 04:10:18 AM
Reading through all the comments, is AMLT not being listed on exchange just FUD? how will it be traded? how will the developers cash in? seems a little strange, as a minimum im sure it will be on decentralized exchanges after token release. i have invested in AMLT and i think its a very promising project and ill be HODL but i would like to see this on one of the top 10 exchange longer term.

They mentioned that they will not be actively seeking exchanges, but I'm certain that exchanges will be adding AMLT on their own if enough users are requesting it. Or once they catch wind of the projects merits, I don't believe it will go unlisted for very long.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 600$ - Invest in altcoin on: January 29, 2018, 10:21:18 PM
I’m telling my friends that just want to set it and forget it to buy iota. In 2025 it could be the backbone of IOT yielding unimaginable rewards. Worse thing that could happen is that you go 10x in one year (or whenever they get it to work a little better).

Hey Natty, you've been around a lot longer than I have, I used to be a believer in iota until I started trying to transfer them around and found it cumbersome with all the required workarounds. Fully expect them to simplify the entire process in the long run, but are they that much further ahead over other IoT projects?
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ripple the currency of the future? on: January 29, 2018, 07:06:38 PM
While BTC and ETH need to figure out scaling issues, this is the time for Ripple to thrive, quick and cheap transactions. If they don't capitalize now, I don't see them having any edge as a centralized coin.

Not that it will ever happen, but who here would love to see Ripple's release a version as a stablecoin? Wouldn't bankers want the stability of 1:1 value with the US Dollar with the convenience of cryptocurrency?
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have 12 Bitcoin. What should I do??? on: January 28, 2018, 07:16:25 AM
Please don't create your own currency lol.

I would try to invest in a decent masternode couple of ico and some solid altcoin

Agree with Titus on the masternodes, pick out some good projects and get some steady return while diversifying in various other coins.

It's funny how you're doing so well and we're the ones trying to give the guy with 12 BTC our advice  Grin Grin Grin
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buying coffee with cryptocurrency on: January 28, 2018, 03:15:37 AM
This is the truly the year where we see some major companies change their stance on cryptocurrency payments. Starbucks won't take Bitcoin now, but we can almost be certain that with the Lightning update, concerns over daily micro-payments clogging the blocks won't be an issue anymore. Now the real question is when will Dunkin Donuts start accepting and that's when we've made it Cheesy
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] 🔥NUCLEUS VISION🔥 The Future of IoT and Retail⚡Harvard & MIT team🌟 on: January 23, 2018, 10:43:28 PM
This is promising, could add real value for retailers, get us a lot closer to how we are advertised to, endless possibilities. Maybe even realize those futuristic movies that give their take on advertising while we walk by.

For me, I'm in the same boat of curiousity and how the sensors will work without the usual points of entry. Intriguing for sure.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GNT] Golem Project - The world’s most powerful supercomputer on: January 23, 2018, 09:03:12 PM
What is the next AMA on reddit? It should be soon.

It is scheduled for mid-February, and it was announced at the beginning of January thus inevitably depressing the price of the token (it is just like declaring "No Brass till mid February"). A useless bad move on the part of the team. Anyway I don't expect a Brass announcement on February. It will be the usual fluff. "Early 2018" for this team means "sometime before June 2018". I have been waiting for almost an year on this token, the cost-opportunity has been in the million dollars now. I will dump everything if no clear date for Brass release is stated in the next AMA.

I actively follow them on the github and see that the guys work every day. Positive tweets also a little hope.
Nevertheless, the competitors also did not advance in their development (there is no finished product).
So, I think we should give the project time

Great point, you can see them working on it, that's reassuring.

Golem will likely be first to market and having a great product will dictate whether they gain traction and market share. Same for SonM, they might come out with a product afterwards and so long as the product impresses, they will have adopters. There's more than enough market share for several strong competitors.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Substratum ICO - August 7-September 7 (Pre-Sale with Bonuses Available Now) on: January 23, 2018, 07:02:29 PM
more and more that i read what is posted on the facebook group + youtube, the more i think this is a scam

i`ve read yesterday a link on medium with some very interesting stuff covered, that discussion disappear over night from facebook group. for asking a question about this forum (was 1st post in an existing thread) i was banned from Substratum reddit area

of course i asked what happened but no reply from mod in that place

"You have been banned from participating in r/SubstratumNetwork. You can still view and subscribe to r/SubstratumNetwork, but you won't be able to post or comment.
If you have a question regarding your ban, you can contact the moderator team for r/SubstratumNetwork by replying to this message.
Reminder from the Reddit staff: If you use another account to circumvent this subreddit ban, that will be considered a violation of the Content Policy and can result in your account being suspended from the site as a whole."

a fair business for sure does not like this, with all the cash received from ICO they should have a fully product by now

for those who missed it here is the medium post: https://medium.com/@YagamiLight/the-technical-red-flags-of-the-substratum-network-sub-1f34e8b5ffcb

i moved my coins back to btc jan 15 at around 1.4$, sad i didn`t do it before

le. check this out https://imgur.com/CsfQU2m posted 22 jan

"Currently there's not even a way for us at Substratum to try the Substratum Network. But we're working hard toward Alpha Test 2, which will be a demonstration of a walking-skeleton Substratum "Network" that exists entirely inside one machine." - if this is true and they dont have any working version, wtf did we see in the "demo" from december? was this guy right ? i think so https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2054963.msg20975313#msg20975313

Thanks for the warnings, I was reading about them on different forums as well. This would be a good time for the devs to communicate with the public, I'm sure their supporters would love to hear why. The idea is great, but I can't jump in and support them with these things brought to light.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [$XVG] VERGE [POW][MultiAlgo][BLACKHOLE][Entire Line of TOR/i2P Resources] on: January 22, 2018, 08:54:48 PM
I am pretty excited with the hard fork news at block 1,824,150. Hopefully everything will go according to plan.

Can someone please explain what exactly will happen here?

Do we get a new coin?

Will more coins be issued?

No and No. They are just updating the protocol. The blockchain will continue on a new chain. No new coins are being issued. The old chain will stop functioning at the time of the fork. All coins remain the same. Nothing lost, nothing gained.

Good to hear that there's nothing for us to worry about.

If you have your coins on a major exchange they will take care of everything. We won't even notice anything changing.

May I ask if the BTCD network is still available to synch with? I missed the deadline but hoping some extension was made :/
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🚀 |ANN| MYSTERIUM NETWORK - Decentralized VPN built on blockchain |MYST| on: January 16, 2018, 07:23:00 PM
What should you do if you have MYST coins on Bittrex? Do you lose them all if you do not transfer them out or sell?

After Bittrex delisted BTS, I kept my small balance there until recently. Unfortunately, they charged a 5% fee when I transferred it to Binance. I'm not sure if the fee would have been lower if I transferred it before the delisting.

Oh hey thanks for sharing that, much more reassuring that we won't completely lose our coins. I can live with a 5% fee as long as I don't lose everything.

Myst is an ethereum token, this means you can transfer the tokens to your MEW.

Thanks glennmatthew, for some reason I had mistaken it with another project. Reread the whitepaper and confidence is restored Cheesy

Question, is there a wallet that we withdraw to? If not, has Bittrex in the past, simply held delisted coins in accounts while allowing them to withdraw them past the delisting date?

Knowing that the coins are safe will go a long way in soothing supporters.
