1  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] bitaddress.org Safe JavaScript Bitcoin address/private key on: April 22, 2014, 07:52:53 PM
The background image for the art on the paper wallet is public domain it was sourced from a contest run by casascius on this forum. So I believe no attribution is required. Feel free to distribute your tool.

I have received some requests in the past about re-creating a paper wallet with a known key. At this moment I do not have any plans to implement that functionality, I may change my mind in the future.

Thanks for getting back to me. What I have is now published at www.bitreplace.org and on GitHub. Hopefully it will be useful. I will try to improve it so it can derive the bitcoin address and QR Codes given a private key in the future but HTML, CSS and JS are new to me for now!

I don't want to take anything other than BTC for this as I'll have no proof of delivery and could easily be scammed using anything reversible. User-name is available to check before transacting but I don't want to post it in case of a ban, etc.

No takers?  Smiley Some of these games are going up as they move out of alpha and beta...

No one? BTC0.4 then...

Hi

Many thanks for your hard work. I used bitaddress.org a few weeks ago to create my first ever paper wallet. I was holding a bit too much BTC unsafely until then.  Undecided

When I created my paper wallet, which I printed a couple of copies of, I messed up when attempting to laminate them and they both ended up getting chewed. Fortunately I could still scan the QR Codes so I didn't lose my BTC. Cheesy

The problem I then had was that I didn't want to start from scratch but I still wanted a nice, and laminated, paper wallet. I tried using GIMP to do a recreation but the text was way too blurry when rotated and it was generally below par. I ended up using HTML and CSS to recreate my paper wallets and I'm glad to say it was successful. In doing this I ended up creating a utility that can do all this for me. It includes your background but nothing else. It doesn't recreate the QR Codes either, you have to use your 'Wallet Details' to do that. I think some others may find it useful if they mess up like me, is it okay to distribute it and if so how do I attribute your background to you?

If it's not okay or if you don't mind doing so could you please include the ability to recreate paper wallets from a given private key in bitaddress.org?

Dropping to £15.00 which is around BTC0.05 at the moment according to Preev.com. You're free to use escrow, and I recommend you do, if my newbie status bothers you.

I'm trying to clear up what I call my 'digital sprawl' people and pass on anything of worth!  Roll Eyes

I forgot to add previously that I also downloaded War Thunder so that's probably attached to the account as well.

I also have a Gmail account with a matching username which I will be including as well to ease the transfer with Steam Guard. I've not used it so the only thing it's signed up to is Steam.

You make a fair point about the domains, but I have thebitcoinhomepage.com if you are interested. It's perhaps a good alternative, short of trying to buy the other domains.

As for what I'm asking for the site I put a 50BTC figure on it in previous posts, although I'm open to negotiation. I'm currently talking with a few interested parties, do drop me a message if you are interested.

The domain is a lot better but with the others that could spring up on, lets face it, the domains you would really want to mimic and gain any traction off the original presents a huge concern for me especially seen as they're naturally going to put a high price on them.

It's all very well done and could well gain some serious BTC but I feel at the price you're asking I can't negotiate. Not because I don't have the funds to do so but because I would have wanted things to be 'perfect' as in:

  • The domain being 'millionbitcoinhomepage.com'.
  • The paid advert rate higher.
  • There not being anything similar and no possible branding conflicts.
  • Some way to take payment other than BTC.

I know the last one defeats the point of it all somewhat but to drive take-up and get make use of any attention I think it'd have to be there but dressed up to somehow seem more BTC'ey.

As it is the range I'd want to offer in is too different from your starting figure for it not to seem insulting. If your sights change at any stage and no other parties buy feel free to contact me.
8  Economy / Invites & Accounts / [SOLD] Selling Steam Account - DayZ, Arma 3, Arma 2 CO with BAF and PMC on: April 19, 2014, 01:21:44 PM
Selling my Steam Account. Reason being I rarely ever played games and don't play them ever any more. Games are:

- DayZ (Game)
- Arma 3
- Arma 2 Combined Operations (Original and Operation Arrowhead)
- Arma 2 Private Military Company
- Arma 2 British Armed Forces
- DayZ (Mod - I know it's free but it's attached to the account so best you know.)
- Kerbal Space Program
- Next Car Game

I'm not banned from any servers on any of the applicable games. My character in DayZ might even still be alive with some good gear but I can't be sure and can't check as I know run Linux.

I mostly don't want to just abandon the account and would rather someone else got a good deal and some use out of it.

I'm going to set a price of £20.00 which is around BTC0.07 according to Preev.com but feel free to make an offer.

He means that at some point of his life he wants to sell the site and give total control to the buyer

I think you're correct but I feel the sentence is a bit ambiguous so I want to check. Say for instance if he wanted to hang onto some of the income for a period of time after the sale to hedge his bets if the site takes off, I would understand, but that'd be reflected in what I'd be willing to pay.

Again I'm also willing to transfer ownership of the site, for a price, and divert all BTC earned to the new owner... at some point.

If you are willing to transfer the site and presumably domain what are you after? I'm not quite sure what you mean by 'divert all BTC earned to the new owner... at some point' if you did want to sell and I purchased I'd want to take control of all of it straight away.

So far as I can tell this would be a gamble as it can go two ways and I could end up paying to host it until the end of time with very few paid up adverts. Is there a way to tidy up all the adverts setup with hacked or spam accounts using Twitter or Facebook?

I'm also a bit concerned that 'themillionbitcoinhomepage.com' and 'millionbitcoinhomepage.com' are both registered.
11  Other / Beginners & Help / Bitfury Red Fury... LED not working? on: November 21, 2013, 12:13:47 PM
Hi

I have just received a Red Fury and it is working in BFGminer but its LED doesn't appear to do anything. I thought on these it lit up all the time they were working but its not doing anything at all unlike my ASICMiner Block Eruptors which happily flash away.

I've tested it and there appears to still be a circuit through it so I am not sure what may be the problem, any ideas?

I can't seem to find any mention of this elsewhere.

Thanks
