1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] Mining Pool Hub - Multipool. Multialgo, Auto Exchange to any coin. on: January 13, 2018, 05:15:04 PM
So I have a bunch of zencash on the exchange waiting on auto-exchange for over a day now.
Is this normal at miningpoolhub that funds are stuck and locked up like this for days?

you tried ahashpool ?

No but if my funds stay stuck on the exchange and inaccessible for much longer I will switch to another pool.

what do you mean by a bunch if you dont mind me asking? i've had some zencash flow in and out of the exchange the last few days.

Having a display connected or not connected will not make any difference. What will make a difference is GPU BIOS Flashing, Video Drivers & Miners (and how the miner is configured). And as said above, different algols with behave differently, you will have to test each one you want to mine to get the best out of them.

what do you mean by gpu bios flashing ? and all the miners work on the video card individually just not swapping between them, swapping caused the blocked from access.

Thought I'd try without monitors just incase, it wouldnt hurt anything so why not, well without the 2 in my case. so both are unplugged & I'm just remote accessing into the box, but so far so good. need more time to tell but so far it's not been blocked, it switched through everything on the benchmark, then went back to the most profitable one and has been chugging along.

ok answered my own question on the how to for the bios, but lead to another question of how to pick which one. I see what I currently have, but how do you know if another is better?

The thing about running algo switchers is you need to tune down your cards

Just because it runs stable on one algo OC'd to this or that amount doesn't mean it will be stable on all of them.

This seems to be especially a problem if a GPU is driving the display. Nvidia drivers really don't like the algo switching in those scenarios.

My mining rig handles the algo switching much better. .. . Presumably because I don't have any of hte cards driving displays.

I don't even bother with algo switching on the personal rig. Too much of a pain.

Is the answer still to just not have any displays connected, are there other alternatives or fixes?

Running on windows 10 17063, with 2 nvidia gtx 1080's. All drivers & all are up to date & they aren't overheating.

However, when this switches algos. Say going from equihash to ethash or something. The new algo gets blocked from accessing the gpu. This happened when benchmarking also, it might get through 2-3 of the algos, but then one would get blocked.

Rebooting the pc allow's it to start an algo and go for a while, but when it goes to switch again, it start's failing again and needs another reboot (or sometimes gets the bsod, due to too many requests to a blocked gpu access)

Is there anything to research more into why it's getting blocked, or what specific is failing? I have since just changed it to 1 algo, so it's mining whatever is the most profitable of that specific algo & has been running for ~24hrs now, but it's not able to do cross algo switching reliably.

Turn off windows defender antivirus (or add miners to the whitelist). Most of the miners are recognized as viruses.

I've been using bitdefender, so windows defender has been off, I have bitdefender excluding those directories, but it hasn't been flagging / removing / quarantining anything.

All the miners work fine if it's just that miner, only comes into play on the switch, but a reboot & restart the new algo works fine until it goes to switch again.

Tried looking around here have 2 questions:

is there a way to configure max temps for the gpu's? - as it stands it runs a little hot

is there away to force a new benchmark, or does it do it automatically after a while? - during the initial i started getting application blocked from gpu so I wanted to see if a restart and re-benchmark would help

thanks  Smiley
