1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [CHC] ChainCoin - Cryptopia & Novaexchange - Required update 0.9.3.2 on: January 16, 2018, 11:24:15 AM
Hey guys. Maybe someone can give me a hand here.

I got my VPS and node all set up....sent coins....did the  "watch chaincoind getinfo" waited for the balance and such to show up....perfect so far...

did "chaincoind -daemon"   great! shows chaincoin server starting

it comes up as "Invalid masternodeprivkey. Please see documentation"

Tried to confirm my masternode private key against the conf file {several times) and it looks good.

Any thoughts to a solution to fix this?

Thanks

p.s. this is my first masternode ive tried to run, so I'm still pretty new

Do you have the masternodeprivkey set in your ~/.chaincoin/chaincoin.conf config file? You can generate one by running "chaincoind masternode genkey"

yes, I do. checked it several times with what I had copied/pasted to a notepad. unless I copied something wrong? should I create another one? (Privkey) and how would that effect everything?

I read there is a fix for this on github, as well,  but I can't seem to find it

Not sure where you went wrong. I just followed these instructions and my MN setup worked great.

https://toaster.chaincoin.org/docs/Setting%20up%20a%20Chaincoin%20Masternode%20-%20draft%20v.04.pdf

I don't know what ive done wrong either. I can see a list of files {using ls} however my chaincoin.conf file is now blank, so I re filled the information and saved it. then checked it a few mins later and its blank again!! (yes I saved it)

and I don't see my wallet.dat anywhere! Where the hell did that go with my 1000 CHC? (and how do I get it back? or at least the coins)
I know they were there because I was able to monitor it using "chaincoind getinfo" and see that they were deposited

FML could really use some help

Interested in getting a masternode. Are they still worth It?

Also, is there a guide somewhere in regards to setup somewhere? ( I understand there is one on slack, but I need to be invited)
Thanks
