1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / ZergPool alternatives on: October 16, 2018, 04:56:03 PM
Hi,

I was wondering if some miners could suggest a similar pool like ZergPool since it closed recently. I'm looking for a pool with  auto-exchange to BTC feature and that lists almost the same number of coins that zergpool had.

Thanks

Hi!

I would like first to thank you for this amazing project (GlobalToken) Smiley I was wondering if you could provide some info on how to mine the following algorithms of your project:

✓ astralhash (brand-new)
✓ globalhash (brand-new)
✓ jeonghash (brand-new)
✓ padihash (brand-new)
✓ pawelhash (brand-new)

Thanks

Hi,

Just wanted to add, like probably as other miners already requested, an auto profit switching application included in HiveOS would be so awesome !

Thanks

I saved 1 out of 2 GPUs that was buggy! How? I've unplugged all  GPUs and try plugging one of the buggy GPUs directly in PCI-e x16 slot instead of risers, after a black screen of 10 minutes, Windows finally saw the GPU and displayed the image of Windows. After, I've replugged this GPU in the same riser and in the same PCI-e slot it was before and it's working well. So now I only have 1 faulty GPU which is still under warranty with MSI, I am brining it to canada's computer tomorrow to see if they can do something about it or else I will return it to MSI.

It sounds like the cards are not functioning properly, like I said before. If you tried plugging them into multiple systems that are able to run identical cards in the same slots, but these cards are unable to do anything then that would indicate that the cards are in need of repair. You can try running them on a new OS, but since you are in windows 10 are you able to see the GPUs under device manager? Since they are receiving power, and the fans are turning it is possible that the drivers are just not installed properly, but device manager should help us get a clearer picture of your situation.

Even turning off the PSU is not enough to prevent shocking the cards, even shocks that you are unable to physically feel, because of your threshold for "pain", are well above the amount necessary to kill computer components. Anti-Static bands, discharging your static electricity and making sure you have clean hands when you get inside your computer are a must. Were these cards working properly just a few days ago or have they always been giving you a tough time? What happened between when they were working and when they no longer were functioning as intended?

In device manager I see 3 of the 5 GPUs. I'm taking notes about discharging the static electricity, thanks for all the tips Smiley. These cards were detected for couple of hours first but when I added more GPUs on the motherboard, some GPUs went off temporarily they came back but those 2 never came back even if their lights are all on and on the risers too (this tells me that the power are OK on it, so .. cannot be or low chances that they are defect right? I am thinking of migrating to a mining Linux OS like SMOS or HiveOS since Linux is well known to handle the ressources way better then Windows. I will also try to plug 1 of the buggy GPUs directly in the PCI-e x16 slot with all others GPU unplugged as soon as I get back home.

Thanks for all your suggestions and if you think about anything else please don't hesitate to hit me back here !  Grin

Have you attempted to connect the GPUs one at a time to make sure they individually are functional? Are you able to place the 2 GPUs that are not functioning properly into another system to see if it is able to get them working? What OS are you running, and does the OS detect the GPUs at all?

It sounds like it would be the cards, maybe they died during a bad flash recently or got a good shock while you were placing them in without discharging your static electricity. If they are unable to work in a slot that other cards are working in, then it probably isn't the slot or the motherboard. The PSU should have enough juice.

Yeah one of the first thing I tried is plugging only those not-detected GPUs one at a time but both are not getting recognized by Windows 10 Pro (64 bits). I've tried to put those GPUs into my other rig but my other rig doesn't detect them also. I am running Windows 10 Pro (64 bits), the OS only detects 3 GPUs out of 5.

When I was placing those GPUs on the motherboard the power supply was always turned off to avoid a shock. Something that makes me ask myself some questions is that those 2 GPUs when I am booting, their fans are running OK and all lights are on the GPUs and the LED light on the PCI-e risers are on also....

Thanks

Hi,

I am having an issue since couple of days about 2 GPUs that are not being detected by Windows 10. My other 3 GPUs are working fine. They are all GTX 1070. I've switched the 2 GPUs that are not being detected to the PCI-e risers of GPUs that are working fine but those 2 GPUs still didn't get detected. I've also changed the PCI settings in the BIOS for Gen 1 and Gen 2 but still the same issue. Both GPUs fans are running when booting and the LED light on the risers are also turned on green. I've uninstalled and reinstalled NVIDIA drivers, still same issue...

mining rig specs;

motherboard: MSI B250 PC Mate
GPUs: All GTX 1070
Power Supply: EVGA 1000 GQ, 80+ GOLD 1000W

Any suggestions are very appreciated,

Thanks.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Rx Vega - CryptonightV7 - mining rig on: May 03, 2018, 10:58:25 PM
Here you can see most of cards benchmarked on cryptonight algo (data may be outdated after the fork - but shouldnt have huge difference)

http://monerobenchmarks.info/

From my experience, there shouldn't really be any kind of extra ordinary difference b/w gens of graphics card as far as mining is concerned. You can check older cards and see for yourself, one major aspect is the power draw - which sometimes can get lower or higher (depending on specs), but I dont think it is much of an issue when considering the total performance h/s/w wise, also taking into consideration current price/difficutly etc..

If you are getting into mining game, make sure you are pretty sure and confident that it will give u the calculated ROI.

Thanks for your reply. I am mining since around 1 year with NVIDIAs but lately I really like Monero since they will fork every 3-6 months to be ASIC resistant which is great for our mining community. My main question is;

Should I wait to buy some Vega GPUs since the Vega Nano is coming out around July/August or I buy some Vega's now? I can have them around 640 USD$/piece.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / AMD Rx Vega - CryptonightV7 - mining rig on: May 03, 2018, 06:09:26 PM
Sup guys,

Lately I am thinking of building a Rx Vega rig but something tells me to wait for around July-August for the Vega Nano to come out and prices to get lower. Right now I can get some Vega's around 640 USD$/piece.

What are your thoughts on this Vega project of mine? Wait or be impulsive and buy now Cool

Thanks!

Once again only NVidia miners and no AMD?
That's absolutely no good...

AMD miners will have to stick to Cryptonight/Ethash algo. I don't see a bright future for AMD miners... you might want to consider selling your cards now since GPU prices are still high and buy NVIDIA (that's what I would do).

Good luck !

Will there be an exchange? I heard the devs would have to pay 1 BTC to be listed on crypto-bridge, anyone knows if the devs are planning to pay the 1 BTC for getting listed ?

Thanks.

17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Linux Mining OS options on: March 07, 2018, 06:12:41 AM
Hi guys,

I am looking for a complete list of all Linux mining OS in order to discover what would be the best option for me based on their features, so far here's the OS I've found yet;

1) EthOS
2) HiveOS
3) nvOC/rxOC OS
4) PiMP OS

Is there any other Linux OS?

Thanks.

How can I turn off the auto reboot feature (hashrate drops or what ever) ?

Thanks.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / HiveOS keeps rebooting (no issue under Win10 or EthOS) on: February 20, 2018, 02:30:18 AM
Hi,

I was wondering if there is a way I can stop my HiveOS from always rebooting randomly. I think when the hashrate is not high enough from the cards or maybe something else keeps rebooting the HiveOS again and again. Any clue on which config file I could change this ?

Thanks.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Tesla K80 mining [Linux] ccminer? on: February 15, 2018, 06:10:20 PM
Hi guys,

Any one out there was successful for GPU mining under Linux with Tesla K80 cards? I installed NVIDIA drivers and CUDA toolkit and compiled ccminer from source but when I try to launch the miner on any algorithm I always get error messages like;

for neoscrypt algo: Cuda error in func 'neoscrypt_init' at line 1482 : invalid device symbol.

Some others algos: no kernel image is available for execution on the device

I've downloaded the latest drivers and the latest CUDA Toolkit version (9.1).

I tested it under Tesla M60 and all worked well, only having issue with the Tesla K80.

Any help would be very appreciated.

*bump*

Cuda error in func 'neoscrypt_init' at line 1482 : invalid device symbol.
Cuda error in func 'neoscrypt_init' at line 1476 : driver shutting down.

Driver compatibility error msg, should i try a rollback?

Thanks.
