2  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Pump and Dumps? Has anyone been a part of this? Thoughts? on: January 12, 2018, 04:41:20 AM
Has anyone been involved in pump and dumps? I was offered an invitation to a channel on telegram, and my mate said he has made over $5k in channels like this (he got in on ground floor of a few). Any thoughts?

No, i have never been involved in pump and dump group. it's a way to lose money, people who buy a coin thinking(signaled by these groups) it will be pumped get dumped on. [...]

This. Getting involved in pump and dump groups is a great way to lose money that could have just been spent in an investment in a promising crypto. I've never been a part of a P&D group and never will be. Joining one sounds like an awful idea.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin a currency or asset? on: January 12, 2018, 04:34:43 AM
I can't think of Bitcoin and other cryptos as anything other than assets at the moment. The price fluctuations are absurd. And as so many large news outlets love to point out, there aren't many places you can directly spend Bitcoin.

Maybe in the far future things will change, but for now, I don't see it as currency.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What You Think Of DeepOnion? on: January 12, 2018, 04:25:19 AM
It looks pretty interesting. I'm thinking of investing it soon. Still learning more about it, but I like what I see.

Like everyone else said, exchanges. Here's an article from CoinDesk on how to get bitcoin in the UK.

Lots of options, but make sure to do your research before picking one. Google is your friend.
