1  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: August 21, 2014, 05:17:39 PM
MinerSource did me wrong. This is completely scammy of them.

TLDR: Request cancel, cancel confirmed, offered store credit, told i cant use store credit, told i have to wait longer for refund, inquire about refund status,
no longer can receive refund, item shipped against my wishes.

* July 2nd, I send a cancellation request to support.

* July 3rd, I receive confirmation of my cancellation from Dan Murtha and inquiring if I would accept
store credit.

* July 3rd, I inquire about some items that I could purchase using the store credit.

* July 7th, I receive the following from Dan Murtha:

I apologize we did not get to your refund before Black Arrow began shipments.
Now that black arrow has commenced shipping and our first bulk shipment is on its way,
we will not be offering any more refunds or store credit until shipment of all outstanding
orders is completed, if there is any continuation in delays or defects with the products we
will continue doing refunds in the order requested.

* July 7th, I send the following:

I don't understand, I put in the cancellation request prior to shipment and I have acknowledgement
from you that I have been placed in the cancellation queue.

* July 7th, I receive the following from Thomas Salvatore:

You are still in the queue, we are just informing you of the current status.

* July 7th, I send the following:

Ahh, does that also apply for exchanges?

* July 7th, I receive the following from Thomas Salvatore:

We will no longer be offering exchanges for store credit.

At this point, I am very annoyed but no big deal I can wait until later for refund.

* August 1st, I inquire about the current status of my cancellation

* August 2nd, I receive the follwoing from Thomas Salvatore:

Thank you for contacting us and for your patience while we worked out the shipping dates with our
supplier. We have done our best in a challenging situation to deliver your order as quickly as
possible, and are pleased to report that your shipment will be released for delivery between in the
next 1-3 weeks. We appreciate and acknowledge that the wait has been longer than you had hoped. We
have reviewed your request for a refund, but are unable to approve the request. This was a “pre-order”
of mining equipment which, according to the terms of purchase posted on our site when you placed your
order, is non-refundable if cancelled. Those terms located at http://minersource.net/pages/contact-us,
explicitly notified buyers that delivery dates were not guaranteed, and that buyers should not rely on
them as a factor in making the decision to place an order with us. Nevertheless, we recognize that this
has caused inconvenience, and have worked with our supplier to add additional compensation units to your
order, free of charge. These will be included in later shipment, to be sent to you after shipping of all
orders has finished, free of charge. Again, we are sorry that this order took so long to fulfill, and
encourage you to contact us with any additional questions.

* August 2nd, I reply with:

I dont want the order I was inquiring about my cancellation.

* August 4th, Dan Murtha responds with:

Thank you for contacting us and for your patience while we worked out the shipping dates with our supplier.
We have done our best in a challenging situation to deliver your units as quickly as possible, but understand
that you have now decided to refuse to accept delivery. While we appreciate and acknowledge that the wait has
been longer than you had hoped, this was a “pre-order” of mining equipment which, according to the terms of
purchase posted on our site when you placed your order, is non-refundable if cancelled. Those terms explicitly
notified buyers that delivery dates were not guaranteed, and that buyers should not rely on them as a factor in
making the decision to place an order with us. We encourage you to accept delivery of your pre-ordered product
because we are not approving refund requests at this time. We recognize that this has caused inconvenience, and
have worked with our supplier to add an additional compensation units to your order, free of charge. These will
be included in the shipment sent to you. Again, we are sorry that this order took so long to fulfil, and encourage
you to contact us with any additional questions.

The next day I leave town for work. I came back yesterday and find that my X-1 is scheduled for delivery 8/22. Not sure what to do,
if I refuse it I don't know how I will be able to go after them for my funds since I paid in bitcoin.

It doesn't weight half a kilo, apparently he is getting 2 packages. 1 with the PSU and 1 with the X-1.

I don't care about LCD, I don't care about wifi, I only care about making ROI. How can they give us a long winded update and not even address the most important thing, shipping dates. The shipping is ongoing they said but we have no confirmation of anyone received anything at this point.

Really hard to decide whether I wish to be fucked by cancelling my order or fucked by waiting for my order to be fulfilled.

I ordered 1 X-1 with batch 1 and i am looking at profitability and its never going to happen unless BTC value goes back up. Debating whether to ask for a refund or order another at 50% off. I'm sure its been asked but if we paid with BTC are we getting a refund in BTC or USD?

Nice try to bash me in order to prove your point, I was giving my opinion on ways he might turn more trial users into sales.. if you read back you can see he had no problem letting me try it out for a month.

Logic dictates if you have a product that works ideally over long periods of time a 1 week trial may not generate a positive experience to a potential customer, just sayin...

Btw OP, so far I am very happy with the product .
7  Economy / Services / Re: Butter Bot!: New Bitstamp, BTC-E, and MtGox EMA Trading Platform on: January 10, 2014, 12:34:53 AM
Its your product so you can do what you like but here is a suggestion:

Offer a 30 day trial license instead of 1 week.

Lets look at some scenarios:

Customer A decides to try out your product for 1 week using $100 bucks on BTC-E. In that 1 week he performs several automated trades and maybe he turns a profit 1 or 2 of the days but by the end of the week he is under 100,do you think he is likely to sign up?

Customer B decides to try out your product for 1 month and using $100 bucks on BTC-E. In that 1 month he is under 100 bucks during the 1st week or so but by the end of the month he has earned a profit of about 15%, do you think he is likely to sign up?

Pablo would be insane to give a full month for free.. he's already stated multiple times that he has no problem with people extending the one week trial to two weeks if they feel so inclined and need more time to make up their mind. If he offered one month, many people will likely turn it into two months... and then anyone who paid for the three month package will be left in the cold. IMHO, if someone comes to Butter Bot and after one week expects it to make them riches, they probably don't understand EMA trading strategy and perhaps Butter Bot just isn't for them.

I disagree. I am guessing he keeps track how many times someone renews a trial license and decides when to prevent them obtaining more. If he offered a 1 month license and prevented users from renewing for another month, it would be basically the same amount of time but gives people an opportunity to actually pull a profit without having to cheat the system.

Pablo can you pm me a 30day trial license? I signed up on your site and only received 1 week trial.
10  Economy / Services / Re: Butter Bot!: New Bitstamp, BTC-E, and MtGox EMA Trading Platform on: January 08, 2014, 04:25:12 PM
hey guys,

i am trying out the demo version and had a question regarding the logic involved. I set it up with about half a bitcoin on btc-e on the 6th. Yesterday it a created a sell order at $911 but since then has not put in any type of buy order and I am trying to understand why.

My butter bot is configured as follows:

Trade Frequency 30mins

Short EMA: 20
Long EMA: 42

Tick offset: 2

Buy Threshold 1: 0%
Sell Threshold 1: 0%

Buy Threshold 2: 0.15%
Sell Threshold 2: 0.1%

No trailing stop loss

Is there anything I am doing wrong, I am really trying not to manually buy back in but I am concerned I am doing something or maybe its just the lack of understanding thats concerning me.

you might want to consider doing a group buy on someone's whose expecting shipment of hardware and just hold off on doing a larger investment on purchases until the NEXT NEXT gen of hardware is coming.

great points, I'd like to also add if you time it correctly, you can sell your mining hardware for more than you paid for it.
