1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are you going back to MtGox? on: June 26, 2011, 02:50:42 PM
Well, I use mtgox because of the eurotransfer (SEPA) with low fees, big volume and... that's it Smiley
Btw I had hard time searching for a market suitable for EU, could you recommend some ?
2  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Xfire between 6950 and 5770 on: June 15, 2011, 06:34:28 PM
Hello,

I just got my new 6950 1gb, installed it, latest drivers - everything okay.
But when I added the old 5770 in the setup I can't put them in crossfire.
In device manager im able to see both of them but not in the guiminer in example.
Also I don't see any option like "enable crossfire" in CCC ?
Is there something Im missing ?
3  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Which VGA would you recommend ? on: June 10, 2011, 09:55:23 AM
Anyone have an idea which SDK will give better performance for these cards ?
My guess is if m4rkiz is right and they don't OC so well then SDK 2.1 will be better because it gives better MH/s at lower clock speeds.
Anyway how much MH you guys get with these cards ?
4  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Which VGA would you recommend ? on: June 10, 2011, 09:42:23 AM
it still oc better, have more vram for gaming, and is quiet (believe me, those shapphire 1GB are LOUD)
I don't disagree with that, I just disagree with shader unlock with the original poster wanted a lot it seemed. Right now the 6950 are a toss up with a lot of newer ones not being able to unlock. Also bios switch is use to tell reference design, one of the key parts is the actual core itself. I own the DCIi and TWin Frozr 6950 and love them better then my stock 6970

Okay, so unlock is not guaranteed in both cards but currently I can buy the ASUS 1GB DCII cheaper than the 1GB Sapphire.
So I guess Asus is better, no ?

I just got a good deal on ASUS EAH6950 DCII/2DI4S/1GD5 (http://mostbg.com/most/NormalImage.aspx?itemid=44146)
This one have 2 fans and currently seems to be my favourite Smiley Any feedback on this model ?
6  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Which VGA would you recommend ? on: June 10, 2011, 09:00:31 AM
How about if I flash a BIOS with unlockable shaders on them ?
7  Bitcoin / Mining / Which VGA would you recommend ? on: June 10, 2011, 08:52:31 AM
Hello All,

I was wondering which of those two cards is better for mining ?
SAPPHIRE HD6950 PCI-E 2GB GDDR5 (http://www.stantek.com/products/500x500/p43407.jpg)
SAPPHIRE HD6950 PCI-E 1GB GDDR5 (http://www.stantek.com/products/500x500/p45007.jpg)

The 1 GB version is cheaper of course, but i was wondering if it's possible to unlock shaders ?
Also on the 2gb model the fan seems too small to me. It will be very loud on high RPMs, no ?
Please give me some feedback on those 2 cards.
Thank you ! Smiley
8  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Dual 5870's only doing about 200Mhash each. How do I fix this? on: June 05, 2011, 07:37:27 AM
IMO if memory is underclocked at 300 MHz -w256 gives better results
9  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Underclock memory of 5770 on: June 02, 2011, 12:59:18 PM
I did it by editing "UnofficialOverclockingEULA   = I confirm that I am aware of unofficial overclocking limitations and fully understand that MSI will not provide me any support on it" but the strange thing was that I had to restart the pc and the first time I ran Afterburner min mem clock was 390MHz Huh After a second restart it is now 195
10  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Underclock memory of 5770 on: June 02, 2011, 11:44:03 AM
Okay but how ? I tryed editing afterburner's config file and it wont work .
11  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Underclock memory of 5770 on: June 02, 2011, 11:33:29 AM
Or maybe 600Mhz memory clock is the minimum for 5770 ?
12  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Underclock memory of 5770 on: June 02, 2011, 11:20:22 AM
Already done that(UnofficialOverclockingMode   = 1) and still cant go lower than 600.
13  Bitcoin / Mining / Underclock memory of 5770 on: June 02, 2011, 11:11:32 AM
Hey,

I'm trying to underclock the memory frequency on my 5770 but MSI Afterburner won't let me go below 600. Anyone knows how to ?
Also how low should I go ? 300 ?
14  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: HD 5770 problem (slow) on: June 01, 2011, 07:07:44 PM
Btw what is exactly the point of underclocking memory ? Generating less heat or what ?
15  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: HD 5770 problem (slow) on: June 01, 2011, 06:57:13 PM
Btw I'm able to get ~200 MHash/s with my 5770 and about 170 without overclock using Guiminer. Just use extra flags:  -v -w256
I get those same kind of numbers using -v -w128. I thought it was a model wide setting. All I've been seeing is for all 5xxx, and 6xxx to use -w128 for best performance. Maybe it's dependent on other system variables! Huh

Tryed your settings and seems like im getting 3-4 Mhash/s more. Thank you Smiley)
16  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: HD 5770 problem (slow) on: June 01, 2011, 06:44:05 PM
Also check your power options. Set them to best performance and set Turn off display and Put computer to sleep to never.

17  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Need advise on mining components on: June 01, 2011, 12:27:23 PM
Hmm 6850 is 240$ here and btw im currently looking at 149$ Sapphire 5850 but unfortunatelly they ship only to US Sad
18  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Need advise on mining components on: June 01, 2011, 11:52:17 AM
@wigsgiw 5830 is 8$ cheaper than 5850 - 280$ Smiley

@JayC I just managed to get 190MHash/s but a core temp of 85C is way too high
19  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Need advise on mining components on: June 01, 2011, 11:43:26 AM
Thank you for the answers Smiley

@JayC OCed core at 950 MHz gives me 170+ but the temperature is too high - 82C and I want to keep it <80. Maybe if i improve the airflow inside the box i will be able to keep the core at 950MHz 24/7 but still the difference is not that big...

I'm not from US either. I'm from Bulgaria, Eastern Europe and here local dealers sell 5850 for $288 Sad That's why im currently looking to buy used card and a power supply. And... yeah maybe I will stick with my 5770 + hopefully 5850 as this will be the cheapest mining upgrade.
20  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Need advise on mining components on: June 01, 2011, 10:33:24 AM
And also another question. Which is better 5830 or 5850 ? Or is 5870 worth the money ? Ohh god im very confused  Huh
