My company, Michigan Mushrooms, has been accepting them since November. However we still have yet to sell anything for them... www.michiganmushrooms.net

My company, Michigan Mushrooms, has a few unique options. You can get a "chunk of coal" for someone: a medicinal mushroom, chaga(Inonotus obliquus), that looks very much like charcoal. We also make skin salves with the same mushroom which are great for dry, chapped skin that is so common in the winter. If you would rather give dried edible mushrooms I have several different kinds, although they aren't listed on the site: morels, chantrelles, shiitake, oyster mushrooms and more. You can contact me directly or we have 'pay with bitcoin' buttons right on the site: www.michiganmushrooms.net

Last night I dreamed of a bear. It was actually really friendly though, and it's trainer encouraged me to get close and let it lick me, like a dog. What does it mean!?
This is serious price discussion, right?

This is an extremely serious issue! And I'm really surprised it's not getting more traction on the board here... I guess everyone is used to bitcoin services being inherently unsafe. But wasn't coinbase 'supposed to be different'?

This is scary stuff... Please keep us updated on all this. I would be very interested to hear if any others had issues like this(bad actors getting into check/save accounts).

Oh I see, so food/water/shelter doesn't have intrinsic value? I don't think you're applying the definition properly here. Water for example holds much higher intrinsic value for a human being, than another human being. I'd much rather be stuck on mars with 2,000 liters of water, than be stuck with another human to talk to. As much as I love arguing semantics, I will yield to this.

Indeed not, by your definition. Intrinsic is defined as something 'belonging naturally to; essential'. It would be a stretch to say even gold or silver has "intrinsic" value, as for some people it's utility is not immediately recognized or inherent.
The only thing I think you could say has 'intrinsic' value is a human being. If you are going strictly by the definition. The only thing of universal intrinsic value to any human being is another human being. Unless you are a serious misanthrope.
Of course though, as you say, yes we all(here on this forum anyway) understand and agree bitcoins are valuable. But I think it is a great stretch to say it is something inherent or intrinsic in bitcoin specifically that makes it valuable.

Bitcoin black friday has a a huge list. I would love to hear if there are any more lists out there. Incidently, my company: Michigan Mushrooms is accepting them!

I agree with all said. I am a new(ish) user trying to get in on the 'bottom floor' of one currency or another. Had some btcs but sold at $100 . Had been looking hard at litecoin but seems like it's going obviously parabolic now. Now looking at other alternatives. Any suggestions? peercoin looking like a decent bet...

Do you think an alternate checking account is good enough? I am debating going that route or just getting a new account entirely for dealing with coin base.

|
|
Yes, or to and from say, coinbase.

I am wondering what your opinions are in regard to protecting ones self from ACH fraud?
Would it be safer for a business to set up an additional checking account(under their existing bank account) exclusively for ACH transfers or an entirely new bank account?
I realize of course it would be SAFEST to start an entirely new account, but I'm wondering if it would be 'safe enough' to just have a second checking account.
