1  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Is it worth buying equipment for $5k or so? on: February 04, 2015, 04:32:36 AM
Will I make a profit on this? I am starting to give it serious consideration, but as far as I am concerned the whole shit is a scam and you always end up going negative profit when you buy hardware as new stuff is always around the corner. What will $5k give me today TH/s wise?

I think you answered your own question: "the whole shit is a scam and you always end up going negative profit when you buy hardware:

If I had $5k to blow I would just buy BTC with it.

But I don't have a lot of extra space for mining and the price of electricity is quite high.

If you buy BTC with your money you have a chance at making money OR losing money.

If you buy mining equipment AND you have access to cheap electric you MIGHT make some money, on the flip side, you could lose money....

It's really up to you....

2  Economy / Gambling / Re: DiceCoin.io - Provably fair dice. 99% goes to the players. on: February 04, 2015, 04:22:05 AM
You should set your max win per bet according to your bankroll, such as 0.5% or 1% of your total bankroll. If you can't pay the loss, you shouldn't allow players to make such a bet in the first place.

This^^^

If you're going to start a gambling business, you NEED to be able to pay people who win.

If you can't pay a winner who bet over a certain amount, then you shouldn't allow the bet to be placed in the first place.

Anything else is just a boring old Ponzi.  And those aren't any fun.

Lol

What is the chance of winning free btc, ltc, doge and clam?

There are a total of 2^160 valid bitcoin addresses.
(2^160 ≈ 1 460 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000)

There are roughly only 62 000 000 addresses ever being used (has or had a positive balance). https://btc.blockr.io/trivia/blockchain

Found one that had a balance.  Last BTC address on the page.

I am not the owner of this site.

Please stop saying that.   I couldn't make a website if my life depended on it.

Plus, I don't speak Engrish like the OP seems to be quite fluent in....

I live in NY and speak English.  **French Fries, America, Guns, Trans fats, etc.**

Lol, I'm really not admin for this site or any other.

I played a ponzi yesterday though.   I made a small amount.

I was just hoping to make a small amount again today.

That is all.   Smiley

CryptoGames.website - The Best Automated Bitcoin Game

If you invest, we encourage you post your TXID for transparency reasons.

Address: 1FTWMBBWdAhvyH1jv5ABFohV4Zo2nyw1Em

Frequently Asked Questions Under Thread.
URL: http://cryptogames.website

Main Features:
-- 135% Returns
-- DDOS Protection
-- 100% Automated. We never store more than 2BTC in the hot wallet (as 1.5btc x 1.3 = 1.95BTC), as all returns are sent REALTIME and INSTANTLY (precisely every 60 seconds to prevent server stress)!
-- Min 0.001BTC deposit, Max 1.5BTC deposit
-- No limit on the game for now - no need to sweat with weekly or daily gambles as other sites do - this will run as long as you invest!

We have noticed a lot of sites popping up (and even some sites simply saying "send your coins here"), we decided to make one that works and stays true to its word. Many are claiming to be instant or automated without being so, We are most definitely automated and instant, and our custom script will prove so!

Frequently Asked Questions:
How does CryptoGames Work?
Follow instructions on the homepage, send bitcoin to 1FTWMBBWdAhvyH1jv5ABFohV4Zo2nyw1Em and you will be placed in queue to get back 135% of your deposit. The returns on your investment come from other investors, so as long as people invest after you, you will be paid!

What exactly is CryptoGames?
CryptoGames.website provides a public ponzi game via Bitcoin. Beware, this is a gamble based game!

When do rounds reset?
Rounds do not reset for now. Our custom script ensures smooth sailing. Compared to other sites, this one will run as long as people invest. In case we implement the round resets we will let everyone know a week in advance!

How can I be sure you will not run with funds?
All activity is logged on the BlockChain. Simply click our address on the homepage to view all activity. Since all payouts are made automatically, it would be impossible for us to run with anymore than the maximum investment. It would also be impossible to take funds without the whole world seeing.

Why can't I see my transaction?
Transactions with one confirmation only are shown on the table to prevent double spending which can potentially ruin the game.

How long does it take to receive the payout?
This depends on the wallet balance and how many people have deposited.

Can I use an Exchange or Shared Wallet for CryptoGames?
If you use a exchange or shared wallet, you will not receive the payout to your address as you do not have control of this address. Blockchain.info addresses are perfectly fine.

How does the owner benefit?
CryptoGames takes a VERY SMALL 4% fee. You will still receive 135%, this fee is added to the total needed for payouts.

Is there any support?
For security purposes, We only offer PUBLIC forum support via BitcoinTalk.

No deposits yet?  C'mon people!   Grin

The obvious inference to be drawn is that the reference to "Snow" is rather a reference to the reggae artist "Snow" and thus the intent of this post is to subvert bitcoin to the Rastafarian agenda.

13  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CEX.IO Suspends Cloud Mining............. on: January 13, 2015, 12:27:30 AM
How big was the clouding mining farm / hash rate?

If my memory is correct, cex.io was running the network/pool that had almost 50% of the entire Bitcoin network, just last year.

I think it was around 10 Ph/s.

Correct me if wrong.

Have they stopped mining?  All I've heard is that they paused mining contracts.   No more payouts, but no fees either.

People still own the Gh/s but are no longer suffering a loss.

Curious to see if they keep mining in the coming days/weeks.

bitcoin is OBVIOUSLY a bubble and will never grow past $5

I knew it couldn't break the five dollar mark.  Never, ever, ever,  it just wasn't possible....  :-)
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PETITION AMAZON: 4,424 have signed, 576 more to make 5000! on: October 08, 2014, 12:14:41 AM
I haven't signed. You forgot that amazon is one of the most intrusive company in the world, establishing sales patterns, and spamming you with offers of things customers like you have bought! I fail to see how it's possible to like cryptocurrencies and amazon at the same time.

I've never shopped through amazon (my experience is from a few friends who did) and I never will.

So you base your opinion on Amazon through your friends experiences?  Let me tell you this:  Amazon gets shit done.

They ship on time AND take care of customer service issues faster than any other company I've dealt with.

Thanks to Amazon, I don't have to go out "shopping" like most folks do....  I simply order it and have it delivered to my door.

Amazon Prime, Amazon music, Amazon streaming, and free two day shipping is enough for me.

Give it a try, you just might find your Wal-Mart shopping trip less enjoyable.

Just saying....

BTdubs.  Signed.  :-)

19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why consumers are not adopting BTC on: October 01, 2014, 01:26:25 AM
OP:

I appreciate your first post.   And this thread.  Its good to get everyone tackling the elephant in the room, head on.  It gets people talking.  And thinking.  And the entrepreneurs out there will come up with solutions.  My only response to your rant is this:  Incentive needs to be created. Or Bitcoin needs to become part of the financial fabric.  From what I am seeing, major thinkers and players are doing just that.  Major companies, powerful people, and some of the very smartest are gathering and putting their minds together.   This is something entirely new.  And your expectations (everyones expectations) for consumer adoption, are premature.  We aren't there yet.  We will be.  Eventually.  And how do I know that?   Because I see the foundations being built right now.

You can have any opinion you want of Bitcoin.  You can't deny the statistics and facts, that the infrastructure is growing at a rapid pace.  And that is all that's necessary for Bitcoin to become part of the financial fabric of society.  Nobody knows how it will pan out.  How it will develop.  Nobody knows just what catalysts will come that will be the true turning point.  But that's all being tried and tested.  Its just beginning.  What business model will be the killer app?  What social/government/economic environment will kickstart its adoption?

Could we have predicted that every Barnes and Noble would go out of business, when the internet first appeared, and in fact had been around for 10 years by 1996? For fuck sake, Amazon.com didn't even have a web site until 1999.   How long after internets inception was that?  Now look at Amazon.  Look at Barnes and Noble.  How many years was Amazon around before Barnes and Noble finally started struggling to stay afloat?  How long was the internet around before Blockbuster started closing its doors?

Here we are at a pithy 5 years and we're screaming the doom of Bitcoin because worldwide consumer adoption hasn't begun?  In 1996 nobody had a fucking incentive to shop online either.  You easily could have stood there, 10 years after internet's inception and said "Fuck this.  We're 10 years in, and people are still shopping in stores".  I think you get my point.  You're right.   Consumers have NO incentive to use Bitcoin.   The reason why?  Because the infrastructure hasn't been built for Consumer use yet.  But its going to be.  And you can feel confident in that by simply paying attention to whats going on in the industry.   Listening to the Podcasts.  Reading the Google News Feed for keyword Bitcoin.  Subscribing to the Subreddit.  There is so much shit going down right now Its nearly impossible to keep track of it all.  Businesses are being started.  Great minds are thinking.  Effort and money and time is being poured into this.  And that's what results in success.

I hope you were able to read all of that and fully digest it.  Apologies for the length.

-B-

This....  This right here is what will keep bitcoin alive....   :-)

EDIT: added smiley face.  :-)
20  Economy / Reputation / Re: ***** SatoshiHunt.com Reputation Thread ***** on: September 26, 2014, 12:10:17 AM
I had an issue with some delays but this was during the second week of the site while you were switching to another service so I can understand why.

Since then I didn't have any issues, bets are spinning withing seconds and I get the winning within 10 minutes (this one varies).

I enjoy the spinning action and the sounds, especially in high payouts!

I would like to win more frequently! If you had more winning combinations and keep me playing... that would be the best!

Overall, this is one of the best sites I bet so far.

**** (4 stars out of 5)

An obvious shill account.

The site advertised in this post is garbage.
