1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v8.0 on: December 01, 2016, 02:23:36 PM
We just hit and crossed 20,000 blocks so we should know be getting the full emission rate of 12.5 ZEC per block.

This should hopefully reflect in the mining rewards

WTF?

2 million Sol/s

Claymore!! Are they running Version 3500 of your miner?Huh

https://www2.coinmine.pl/zec/index.php?page=statistics&action=pool

Wow.. that's around 10% of the whole network hashrate... current network hashrate at the moment is around 21 miilion sols..

https://explorer.zcha.in/

Either this guy is running 13,500 to 15,000 GPUs or he's built some kind of Equihash ASIC device and most likely in China

Anyone have an up-to-date guide on how to solo mine? My rigs have already solved 2 blocks for the pools and I'm barely getting crumbs.

With the Allspark gone (DARKCOIN), we cannot return life to our planet. But fate has yielded its reward: a new world to call home (DASH). We (THIS COMMUNITY) live among its people now, hiding in plain sight, but watching over them in secret, waiting...protecting. I have witnessed their capacity for courage, and though we are worlds apart, like us, there's more to them than meets the eye. I am Optimus Prime (EVAN DUFFIELD), and I send this message to any surviving Autobots (CORE DEVs) taking refuge among the stars (OTHER ALTCOINS): We are here. We are waiting.

How many of these trolls or Devs from these other alts have their identities in the public domain.

Evan Duffield is out in public. We know his face and his real identity. He doesn't hide behind some trolling pseudonym. How well do you know your own devs?

There are a million bitcoins parked in a wallet owned by Satoshi who has been AWOL for a few years now for his own reasons...

Even if (and that's a big IF) x amount of coins were instamined, Evan is still here coding day and night full time. Considerable real world expenses have been incurred, and more will be incurred as the technology evolves. Does that sound like someone who instamined and scammed the community?

I'd like to see these trolls attain this level of commitment. It's been over a year of progressive improvements, and every instamine we've seen has backfired within a few months and yet darkcoin/DASH lives on and has risen to no.3 position because the market recognized its brilliance and responded accordingly.

Look at the history of darkcoin. It's taken its fair share of beatings but the community stood strong unlike others that were only in it for the pumps and dumps cycles. Maybe if you spent more time supporting your devs and building your community, you wouldn't be trolling and amplifying the meaninglessness of your existence.

Lead, follow or get the hell out of the way. And in case you didn't notice, we just turned on the DASH warp drives.

Till then, we will keep DASHing along...

Bitcoin has got a plan for you!!

Just when the Cypriots were losing faith
That’s when I learned about the block chain
I still remember how it all changed
Satoshi said,
Don’t you worry, don’t you worry, child
Bitcoin has got a plan for you
Don’t you worry, don’t you worry now

Yeaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh.....

There are lots of BTC fans in T.O., but I hear that there are more meet-ups in Montreal though...

I've been using localbitcoins.com to locate BTC users here in T.O.

Most of the people I've met are mostly buyers or people looking to get into BTC
12  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trust No One on: October 08, 2012, 10:57:44 PM
There a lot of information out there about scams and how to avoid them.

Withing the BTC space there have been many well documented casualties.

It's up to you to keep doing your research and use some bad experiences of others as a sign post for things to avoid.

If you walk around with a sign saying Trust No One, then you're probably still trying to get over a bad experience.

Thousands of people are mining with Pools and it's all based on trust, else the you wouldn't see the level of adoption and interest that Bitcoin has created these past 18 months...

Until the hashrates spike and the ASIC miners start churning... don't discard the GPUs.

At least you can still go back to gaming with the high end GPU cards or resell them to gamers

This is worse than sitting and watching grass grow Smiley

For a platform that is based on elegant complexity such as bitcoin, one would expect the board administrators to come up with a better Turing-type test for those with IQs higher than room temperature.

I sense that this solution was put together more out of frustration than from rational thought processes.
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: LOOKING TO BUY BTC F2F IN TORONTO on: October 08, 2012, 10:35:13 PM
How many coins are you looking to buy?

Do you have a blockchain.info account and app on your phone?

I can meet up so long as you're not outside the GTA...

There are a couple of restrictions with Cavirtex especially when you want withdraw more than $300.

I've met a few guys at Timmies and done deals with the blockchain app.

How many people here are currently using the BFL rigs?

Did any one experience a delay, or has anyone here spoken to anyone at the BFL head office?

It shouldn't be hard for BFL to show some live demo of their new rigs for everyone to see especially with all of the pre-orders that they're getting right now.

19  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whitelist Requests (Want out of here?) on: October 08, 2012, 10:11:43 PM
It would be helpful if you can provide specific details about the kind of evidence that should be provided in order to be white listed...

I've got OTC ratings from spending hours on the IRC channels, and I've been identified by my PGP key.

Maybe you can implement a system like the one used in the OTC rating system to really differentiate between newbies and advanced users who just want to jump right in.
20  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whitelist Requests (Want out of here?) on: October 08, 2012, 03:46:19 PM
I'm a celebrity... get me out of here!!

There has to be a smarter way to keep out trolls because there are a lot of highly experienced BTC users who can contribute a lot to this Board and are having to do time in this newbie forum.
