There is no way that people jumping on mining now will not get burned. For the last 2 years only a few people were mining, and made huge money. Today everybody's mom and their dog is mining. No way it doesn't crash.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU fans after a year of running on: January 22, 2018, 01:04:58 AM
I had fans on Asus DCU II, and DCU III Strix fail exactly after 1.5 years after running at low silent speed 33% max, they started to rattle slightly and later became really noisy. So I guess every gpu manufacturer uses really shitty fans. I hope they are stocking up fans right now because in 2 years they will be flooded with RMA's.
It looks like only Sapphire stepped up their game. They understand we also don't want to RMA the whole card and wait for it for weeks.

Is there a way to lower voltage to less than 860mv for GPU? I can't make my Vega 64 to slow down, it will mine ETH 37MH/s minimum and 42 MH/s when tuned.

But there is no way to lower hashrate and decrease power draw. -50% power does nothing, 850MHz(minumum) on core does nothing - it will not mine slower than 37MH/s. This is the first time I see something like this on a GPU. I mean I don't mind because the power draw is low but seriously.. What if I want to go lower than 150W power draw? It will not crash, it will not lower voltage, it just goes fast and doesn't listen to me.

Yes somebody is using still it Cheesy I just trust this miner the most Kiss

This miner is pretty old and there is a problem lately. On compute mode on Fury and Vega there is a hashrate drop after 3-4 hours of mining. Up to 30-40% drop that requires miner reboot to get full hashrate back. It reports full hashrate but on pool it is lower or stale shares increase a lot. Doesn't happen on Graphics Mode on Fury, but on Vega you can't switch modes...   I no longer have this problem, miner works great.

Overall I like it, hashrates are good, 40mh/s no problem on Vega.
