Really, I'm not following this Bitcoin. I'm trying to have a merchant solution (a shopping cart interface) to include on my website (BTC would be completely useless otherwise), but:

1) official merchant solution AcceptBit doesn't work. Its webpage is a spoof. It doesn't generate any URL.
2) why install Electrum if BTC has its own wallet generator? I mean, why is BTC suggesting to use AcceptBit+Electrum if it has its own Client? It makes BTC Client look unsafe. Which is the better solution.
3) how do you delete an "address" from BTC Client?
4) how do you create a "pay-with-BTC" button with BTC Client, since Electrum can't do it?
5) why so many alternative solutions to BTC?
6) how do you uninstall Electrum from PC?

Sorry, I'm a newbie.

I follow your thread but all gets complicated. What is really putting me off is the fact that someone (bitcoin) releases a software but then outsources everything else (like button generation, wallets, etc.) to someone else.  Why don't they create a button generator in the wallet's interface? The way it is now, everyone is forced to go to online walleting.

Hello everybody, I just signed up to this Bitcoin wonder I've just discovered. I'd have some questions to clarify me how it works but let's drop that now for a more practical issue.

I have studied the possibility of local or web wallets (Blockchain and Coinbase) and have decided to go local for obvious reasons (staying with the proprietory software). Now I need to create a "pay-with-bitcoin" button on my website but it seems that only the web wallets allow you to replicate the paypal-creditcards functions and usabilities.
So my question is: how do I generate a button and do all my bitcoining on my local machine? How do I exchange bitcoins into real valuta, using my local machine?

It goes without saying that not replying to a newbie is very unpolite... if not unprofessional.  Grin
