1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Did GPU prices just double in the last few weeks on: March 01, 2018, 02:46:08 PM
I can find used RX 570 4gb (6-9 months old) for 290 euros and it is very easy no to find at 300 euros. This happned this week as last week I coudn't find any at less than 350. Its a big drop.

How do you measure the consumption?

You DO realize that mining luck can "spike" apparent hashrate a lot in a short period?

Do you realize that luck on the network hashrate cannot spike that much in a short period? Did you check this to understand why difficulty rose that much? Just put 1week to see.

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / PC with HX1000i unxpected reboot. on: February 23, 2018, 10:17:57 AM
My pc shuts down unexpectedly using Corsair XH1000i. I have 4 GPUs drawing around 700 W from the wall and my systems gets unexpected power loss too often. Sometime even when I just install a driver or even when entering bios. Strange thing is that I managed to mine for a couple of minutes with around 750W from the wall (of course after a while again an unexpected reboot ocurred) and then I even get unexpected reboot at 150 watt power draw!

When I changed back to a gold 850 psu everything was fine.

Where is this market?? Prices especially for 570 are more than great for current prices.
Could you share the place you live and the market with us?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PCI-e riser connection for 4 GPU on: February 07, 2018, 09:33:28 AM
I have a 4 GPU build: 3*1070 + 1*1060 + PSU Corsair RM750 (4*6+2 pin)
Would it be right just to connect only GPUs directly from PSU to the 8 pin connector on the card without powering risers?

still, need power because Riser needs power max 75W both Molex or 6 pins.

Is PSU power would be enough for that build?

Every time I want to build a Rig, I always calculate a standard GPU that needs Powering because my rig is stable and rarely problematic. (Yes, I know if doing it with undervolt total powering is not same.)

This's safer calculate.

1070 has a TDP of 150 W x 3 = 450 W
1060 has a TDP of 120 W x 1 = 120 W
total = GPU requires 570 Watt power then 750 W - 570 w = 180 W remaining power. Not to mention SSD, RAM, RISER  that has not been calculated yet.

So 750 W, not enough

I totally disagree. I have a set of 3x570 + 1x1060 mining Eth taking 500W from the wall. Of course I undervolt them otherwise it would be close to 600Watts. So its clearly ok to have a 750 PSU for those cards (1070 are close to 570 in terms of consumption) provided that it is a good one.

Metroid, once again, shows us how mathematically illiterate he is! If bitcoin crashed 100% it will go to $0. So there is no "100% cash again".  Please try to learn the basic in maths because you hurt my eyes with what I am reading....
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: The best hands down GPU for mining etherum? on: February 05, 2018, 10:42:53 AM
Given that money matters RX 570 RX 580 give by far the best Hashrate/Cost-To-Buy.   If Ethereum price falls even more and price of electricity is high then maybe 1060 with Samsung memory will be the best due to higher Hashrate/ElectricityConsumption.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU mining will die in 2018! on: February 02, 2018, 02:28:24 PM
This week so far, first ASICS of many coins just arrived and so far eth + dual mining coins, sia, dcr, lbc, pascal are dead. Second bitcoin has been constantly crashing, just in few days from  13k to 7k, that is almost 100% and mining also takes 100% less profit regarding money. So all in all, my condolences to the people who bought gpus overpriced and wanted to get rich fast, I have to hand to you --> "You are brave", hehe, those people might never reach even 20% of what they paid for those gpus. Third Congratulations to the people who paid $200 for the rx 580 and rx 570 and sold to the idiots for $500 and over. You are such a smart bunch.

Here is a important thing to remember, mining will never make you rich, buying and selling coins will, be smart.

I wish btc was at 7K.  We were only $40 away from my buy order on gdax at $7500 getting filled at some point last night.  Please please please drop to $7500 ...

MEtroid, how old are you? Did you ever go at school? From 13k to 7k is not 100%, from 13 to 0 is 100% Same with profit 100% means 100% which means ALL. I do see a point in your posts but please try to gain some very basic numerical skills!
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best hashrate card per watt for Eth? on: January 26, 2018, 05:05:22 PM
IF 1060 has not Hynix memory then it has the best hashrate/watt ratio than all three.

Hi all,

I am building a small rig which currently has 2 570 and 1 1060. I face an issue with the 570 ones which I suspect that has to do with the lack of connection to a monitor.

The first gpu is a 570 (Elpida) and when I connect using teamvier (or connect a monitor) everything seems fine as I do get a 28 mh/s after having modified the bios. If I do disconnect from teamvier then automatically the hashrate drops to 24 mh/s. The 1060 is not affected by teamvier or the monitor.

Today  I installed a second 570 (hynix) which is the second gpu (stock 19) following exactly the same steps (same drivers, same patch on drivers and then a new bios. In fact I tried two bios one with 1950 and one with 2200 on the memory but there was no difference. I get always 24mh/s and i suspect that it has to do with the lack of monitor ( I suppose the teamviewer only uses the first 570).

I know there are some dummy dvi plugs which I will try. Is there any other reason that I may have this big difference between the two 570 and how can I solve the issue?

ps: In all videos in youtube I see rigs without any dummy plug.

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Invest in mining in 2018 - ROI on: January 25, 2018, 03:27:58 PM
There are many hot topic here these days whether should one invest on mining NOW. of course nobody can forsee the future and everydoy can only make estimations.

Currently the price of GPUs has really increased and no matter what some say it is not possible to find cheap ones, the only question is how expensive they will be. In most cases, under the current conditions, it would take between 6 -10 months to take your money back, depending on if you plan only to add one gpu, create a new rig from the beginning, the price of gpus you will find etc.

My question to everybody is what is the bordeline "take my money back" period that you would accept for putting your money NOW in mining. Is it up to 8 months, 9 , 5 or what ?

I have no idea about the correct action but I would "guesstimate" something like 6 months.

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU mining will die in 2018! on: January 23, 2018, 03:15:23 PM
Funny resellers were selling a rx 580 for $300 then more than usual interest --> $500 then too much interest --> $800, soon will be $1200 for a rx 580 and people paying that think they will be rich, they don't even calculate anything and whoever is saying gpu mining will not die in 2018 needs to check up their sanity cause people buying a rx 580 for $1200 is digging their own grave and those people will want to take all the stupid people with them hehe

whattomine last calculation eth roi is 450 days by the ongoing price of rx 580 at $800.

I wonder who will kill gpu mining first, people paying $1000 for a rx 580 or ASIC manufactures.

You really don't know what you're talking about, do you?  $1200 for a 580, $1000 for a 580 ... You're all over the place man.  Take your meds please!  I just did a quick scan of Amazon and I found a lot of 580's ... Not a single one was anywhere close to 1K.  I'm not saying they aren't over priced, but you exaggerate things to the extreme. Lol.

Nothing will stay one way forever.  Just as BTC can't go up and up and up and never come down, the same applies to gpu prices.  Regardless ... People can do whatever they want.  If they made uninformed decisions, they deserve to suffer the consequences.

P.S. ... ETH is way down on the list of coins I would mine with an AMD gpu.

How can ETH be was down the list when whattomine brings it first for AMD 570/580? Couls you give some example of better choices?

Hi I have SAPPHIRE Radeon RX 570 PULSE ITX 4 GB GDDR5 ELPIDA. I have around 17.6 MH/s stock with claymore which is quite dissapointing.

Windows 7 64bit
first GPU is 1060 3gb

How can this be possible?
