1  Other / Off-topic / Re: one piece is the best anime ever...... on: September 22, 2018, 08:29:37 PM
I've watched many popular animes through out my child hood life, most notably Dragon Ball Z, which will stay forever number 1 in my heart. But a couple of months ago, I discovered One Piece. Being in my early 20s, this show did not disappoint one bit. I've been hooked since discovering the show and it's pretty surprising how much I've grown on the characters and the connection I have formed with them. There's been a couple of moments where tears have fallen when I watched the different character introductions and to be honest, I don't cry. One Piece is simply amazing, astounding, a must see anime.

Not sure about this. War spurs innovation in war, no doubt. There was a spurt of technical innovation in WW1 and WW2, thats true. IIRC the theoretical work on fission was done in the peace of 1919-1938, ditto penecilin, ditto thinking machines, they just were applied to the battlefield in war so maybe its not as much as you'd think. The Napoleonic wars saw some innovation in military theory and practice, but once again the groundwork was pre-war: the revolution played as much a part herer, changing social and economic constraints on innovation. England developed some fancy financials in the the Napoleonic wars, and War of the Spanish Succession too. In one sense losing a war can lead to a clean slate from which to build toward the next war, so there can be a spurt of innovation (and established military can be complacent and hard to change I guess). Does losing a war spur uinnovation more than participating in one? Many allied developments were catch-ups with German and Russian onesdeveloped in the 1930's: close air support for inf, massed armour, deep operations etc. Germany and Russia were the biggest losers to survive WW1, and innovation was a marked element of their military at the time.

Bora Bora is the poster child of the iconic tropical paradise. This island sits 143 miles northwest of Papeete, in the South Pacific, and features the extraordinary turquoise waters, white sand beaches, and beautiful greenery you’d hope to find in the tropics–only it’s more fantastic than you can imagine.

People with so much money continuously worry about losing it. Just fear of loss itself is sufficient in that it can make man lead a worried life. They worry about how to make it abundant. They worry about how to invest it. They worry about how to store it and how to economize it so that it will never disappear overnight. They worry about what to do with it as they are getting richer and richer. They worry about the fact that health is better than wealth. In other words, they are not happy in their lives even if money is present.

The mental health system is a complete brainwash. All of the counseling theories teach you to sorta shelve or "manage" the PTSD and look down on it or even try your best to minimize it. Not only does this not work, but they fail to teach you that you can trust the PTSD since its a source of wisdom since it stores all the intense memories you went through. None of the theories teach you to trust this part of yourself. Not only do the theories do no teach it, but I have yet to hear or read anything that advocates trusting these turbulent emotions in my entire 56 years ie. Any literature or anything else. And that was the technique that I came up with that actually helped me heal more than anything else. Until then I was completely suicidal. I refused to do any of the drugs as numbing does not solve or cure anything.

I also fantasized about that, thinking about how much of a H*e I would be if a was a woman... Watching porn makes most of us "curious" of weird types of porn. some will become "bi-curious"! Most uf us wandered into dark alleys of porn, where hardcore porn became the vanilla stuff, and COOLIDGE effect made us seek other thrills.
By looking at the enormous collections of online porn, and the huge amount of "specialties" or "niches", we're all lucky that we aren't all stuck with tentacle porn fetish!

Practicing guided imagery is a fun and simple way to take a break from stress, clarify what you want, and build optimism. It's a relatively quick pathway to mental peace.

Rethink the length of your visit. Don’t just fly in and fly out, because getting to know you in social settings will invariably be part of your Asian counterpart’s idea of doing business. Accept social invitations, such as a guided island tour, attending a festival, or visiting a treasured cultural site, wherever possible.

My wife and I have had to do the long distance thing twice in our relationship. When we first met she lived about an hour away in San Jose and I lived in San Francisco. After we got married I was working in San Francisco and she was in Los Angeles and we only got a few days a month to see each other.
10  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is the common cause of poverty? on: February 16, 2018, 09:02:04 AM
People in our society who have been privileged and blessed by God to inherit or acquire wealth, could callously and unkindly close their hearts, eyes, and minds to the needs of those around them. They refuse or neglect to support and help their less fortunate family members, friends, and neighbors.
