1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "I regret" calling bitcoin a fraud. on: January 19, 2018, 10:34:12 AM
"I regret" calling bitcoin a fraud.  Those words were uttered by Jamie Dimon on Tuesday morning in an interview with Fox Business.
Talk about doing a 180 degree turn!

If you do not recall Mr. Dimon called bitcoin:
    "a fraud"

    "something that would end badly"

"something his traders would be fired for trading"
(among many other things)

Basically he was not very nice to cryptocurrencies and bitcoin specifically.

Though, he was always quick to say that he does believe in the blockchain technology, just not bitcoin.

More along the same was uttered in his interview this morning.

Here are a few quotes from his interview:
"The blockchain is real. You can have cryptodollars in yen and stuff like that. ICOs... you got to look at every one individually. The bitcoin was always to me what the governments are going to feel about bitcoin when it gets really big. And I just have a different opinion than other people."

This was quite a different than the tone he took with cryptocurrencies and bitcoin a few months back.

However, his overall opinion is still pretty evident in those remarks.

His thesis always seemed to stem from the fact that he doesn't believe that governments around the world will allow a decentralized system that is ripe for tax evasion and money laundering grow very large before it is ultimately killed off.

To be honest I don't fully disagree with him.
That is the big question mark facing these things today. It's not whether the technology is here to stay. It is. It's whether cryptocurrencies in their current form will be "allowed" to reach their full potential.

Governments around the world are building their own digital money.

It will be faster and cheaper than the current model allows. However, they won't be decentralized.

They will be the exact opposite.

In fact, with these new digital coins, likely built on a blockchain, the government will potentially know more about your financial transactions than ever before in human history.

What was once designed to free people from the tyranny of governments could end up ultimately enslaving them even more.

It will be interesting to see how markets respond when the time comes.
If people are really buying these things because they are demanding a different model, one that is truly decentralized for our money, then there is a chance something like bitcoin can survive and thrive.

However, if most of the interest is just in the blockchain technology and the amazing price increase, it is likely destined to go back to the underground and dark webs of the world to be used by criminals for the purpose of trading illegal goods.

I am interested to see where we go from here.

The clock is ticking though, as governments are likely to have their own digital coins ready in the next 12-18 months.

Will decentralization win out or will big brother win out?

Stay informed my friends.

Yes its true there is no doubt that I also fell regret because three years before my friends told me to join bitcoin because at that time I was to use to with bitcoin and I thought that it may be just wasting of time and money so I refused to join but when I see all my friends they are becoming rich so I realized that I also need to join bitcoin because bitcoin is the only currency which can make you rich in a very short time and it’s also very safe.
I remember, When a friend of mine told me if i want an easy money, i didnt believe in him. I also, thought before that bitcoin is a scam. But i was wrong, until i saw so much of my friends earn pretty well. And that was the time i started to believe in bitcoin.

3  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is the price of bitcoin rising so high? on: January 19, 2018, 09:37:38 AM
Expert explains theories behind Bitcoin surge...

Bitcoin prices reaches reached £7,529.77 ($10,009) on the CEX trading platform earlier today, before slightly dipping in value.

Since the start of the year, the cryptocurrency has achieved the incredible feat of increasing more than 1,000 per cent in value.

But despite the incredible growth, economists are still apprehensive of the token’s inherent volatility and signs it could be a price bubble.

Just two weeks ago, bitcoin investors took a hit when the token’s prices plummeted over 20 per cent before bouncing back.
Because of more number of people buying bitcoins(the demand) and the scarcity of bitcoin(the supply) that makes the bitcoin price goes high.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do people get their bitcoins? on: January 19, 2018, 09:30:23 AM
Hey everyone,

I was wondering how most people here receive their bitcoins? I personally handle in virtual items in video games. (CS:GO, DOTA 2, PUBG) I sell these items on a marketplace and receive BTC for them I also join a online casino now and then to try and make some easy BTC!

Do you guys just invest in bitcoins and not touch them? I personally use mine on a daily base for purchases / trading etc..

Let me know i'm interested!  Grin

5  Economy / Speculation / Re: If you knew Bitcoin would never change in value, would you buy it? on: January 19, 2018, 09:14:15 AM
If it were guaranteed that the price of bitcoin would stay the same as it is today, would you still buy it?  My guess is, the answer is no. But if its value lies in being a currency, price stability is essential. And if your answer is no, how is it then not just a Ponzi scheme? In other words, everyone is buying it on the hope of someone paying more for it in the future, not to use it as a currency.
No, i would rather not buy. Whats the point of buying if it wont grow. Who would want to invest in something that the value does not rise?
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you donate Bitcoin for the poor and needy? on: January 19, 2018, 09:06:13 AM
The point is to keep a bitcoin separately for donation to the poor. Donating a bitcoin directly will make sense if the receiver is aware of the functioning of bitcoin and Cryptocurrency. A poor and / or needy man can be sometimes an educated man or a knowledgeable man who is struggling to meet his ends. Bitcoin can otherwise be encashed and given to the poor.

It is always better to think big. I would rather create a trust or try to invest in healthcare or education of a poor child. All quick helps will not last long. Educating one child by spending a $25000 or more will reap great benefits to the society in comparison with feeding a whole lot of people once with the same money. Though it is not bad to feed but it is better to invest in a system that more than once continually feeds.

Yes I will donate Bitcoin to the poor and needy the way I feel is best useful for them. One percentage of the income can always be set aside for donation. After all, life is short and it is best to help as much as we can.
No, i wil not donate bitcoin. Donating bitcoin to them is like teaching them to be lazy. What i can give them is my time... To inspire them to work hard and exert effort. I can also share to them or introduce them to the bitcoin(if they have not heard it). Like saying you can actually make money in bitcoin and see a lot of benefits, and i am not joking.
7  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is a bitcoin REALLY worth? on: January 19, 2018, 08:54:22 AM
Bitcoins worth changes every time. In determining the worth of bitcoin is by understanding the law of supply and demand.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What impresses you the most about Bitcoin? on: January 19, 2018, 08:44:27 AM
I know a lot of people have different reason why the love and embrace bitcoin.
For me the decentralized nature of bitcoin and the thought of being able to send coins to anybody in any part of the word, no third party, no regulation(specific amount), no bullshit is mind blowing.

When it was introduced to me by my friend, what impresses me is that value of bitcoin. And this will make you earn much money.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Use Social Media for Bitcoin on: January 18, 2018, 11:36:01 AM
So recently I was using this app called Instagram (in case some of you never heard of it) and I posted some pictures & videos related to Bitcoin on my Instagram Stories (Like that day when the price goes insanely high and keep going til now). Then 2 days ago some of my friends suddenly asked me about what Bitcoin is & how could the price goes up like that. And I was surprisingly glad to know that I've influenced some people to get to know Bitcoin. And then I introduced them to Bitcoin and answer their questions about it, there were 3 people asking about Bitcoin that day just because of this 1 post.

I mean why don't we just use this power of social media to make people aware about this Cryptocurrency, well I know that there are already some people doing this (like those YouTube channels).
But what I'm talking about here is to us to post something about Bitcoin on our social media, you can just at least post something like your first transaction with Bitcoin and share your story on your Facebook or take the picture of your book that you just bought from the internet using your Bitcoin and then post it on your Twitter.

Don't be afraid to share your experience, you won't get hurt by doing it!(at least not now)
I agree with you. Social media in todays world is the new platform in advertising or public displaying will make people more aware of bitcoin. Since posting in social networking sites like facebook and instagram require no cost at all.
10  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why bitcoin so expensive? on: January 18, 2018, 11:28:51 AM
Bitcoin is so expensive if it will be converted to my country's currency it will cost hundred of thousands.
Why bitcoin worth that much even its only a cryptocurrency can someone give me an idea.
Because of its high demand and its scarcity. Just like in product distribution in economics, the high demand plus low supply will result to a higher price product or item.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is holding bitcoin Greedy? on: January 18, 2018, 11:17:51 AM
Most people now with the rise of bitcoin value, just want to hold bitcoin for as long as they can so that they can maximize their worth. But isn't it a little too greedy to just keep holding bitcoin?
We've all read that story in the school with the moral "Greed is a Curse".
So what if too much greed in bitcoin may backfire? What if, the hodlers end up with nothing?
I dont think it as an act of being greedy. People hold bitcoins because they believe it is good for long term investment. I think it is peoples strategy in making money as to the value of bitcoin gets higher.
12  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin community is rising. on: January 17, 2018, 12:03:46 AM
What do you think a about it? is it good or bad for bitcoin?
I think it is good for both bitcoin and the users. Because bitcoins popularity now is getting higher so many people hears and sees it everyday whether in televesion, newspaper and on social media. So with its rising popuarity, many people become curious about it. Especially with bitcoins benefits/advantages who wouldnt want to join in this community that will give you high opportunity to make money?
The rising of bitcoin community is like, when the demand gets higher so as to its price.
13  Other / Off-topic / Re: Best way to earn Bitcoin on: January 16, 2018, 11:55:43 PM
Thank you for the info... but getting Bitcoin thru investing is still too early for me? I am yet to understand the whole concept, unfortunately! ☹️
Yeah, like a newbie to, i think the best way for us is to rank up our level to junior member and so we xan apply for signature campaigne. I also see myself in the future with bitcoin trading. But as of now, like you as just starting, my knowledge about the bitcoin world and trading is not yet enough. I know bitcoin is a good long term investment and it requires knowledge and a bit risky.
14  Other / Off-topic / Re: Best way to earn Bitcoin on: January 16, 2018, 12:38:11 PM
I’m newbie here... What’s the best way to earn Bitcoin? I need assistance please. Thank you.
My way of earning is by working on it. By joining signature campaign but you have to be in a junior member level to qualify. But they do say that trading is also one of the best ways(unfortunately, I just dont know how to do trading yet, but i am reading articles about bitcoin tradings),.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think digital currency will ever replace paper money? on: January 16, 2018, 12:24:13 PM
Personally I say yes as our society becomes increasingly dependent upon technology, digital currency will become a more popular means of paying for different things and it is more effective and instant. I haven't used much physical money in the past 8 years and I rarely had any problems with that.

What do you guys think? Wink
Yes i agree. Since we are now living in a modern technology wherein most of peoples activities are all done electronically/digitally.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you like best about bitcoin? on: January 16, 2018, 12:17:04 PM

What do you like best about bitcoin?
Decentralization, transparency or easier to move?
Or just it makes you look cool? Wink
As a newbie, what i like about the bitcoin is that it gives you opportunity of getting  rich/ or make more money by just sitting. And the fact that no one controls it that many people trust it.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Bitcoin will survive after 100 year ? on: January 15, 2018, 11:22:05 AM
I am asking this just to see the different opinions of Bitcoin community about its long term potential

I know Bitcoin is actually strong enough and stable as well

But what do you think about it after 100 years ?
I can not tell the future but for me I think no? Because i know everything comes to an end.
18  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is an asset or currency. on: January 15, 2018, 11:04:14 AM
I hear from many sources that btc is used for trading much more than it is for goods and services; doesn't that make it an asset ??
and is that necessarily a bad thing ?? and what can we do about it as a community ??
Bitcoin can be both a currency and an asset. Bitcoin is a digital currency. And investing in bitcoin can be said as an asset.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin dead? on: January 15, 2018, 10:45:17 AM
Bitcoin is not dead. It is very Alive. And there are many people trusting it. And will be the future currency and no one can tell the ending or death of bitcoin.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why invest in bitcoin on: January 15, 2018, 10:38:29 AM
why invest in bitcoin when u can invest in real stocks market?
Because the price of bitcoin gets higher and higher everyday. Bitcoin is regulated by no one. Stock markets are regulated by the government which i dont want.
