Glad to see another ICO for a new exchange up ! Glad to see new young programmers in a awesome idea !
Btw , why the whitepaper has only 1 page ? That's all ?
Yes , i think is enough just only 1 page than 9999 pages with full shi*t news copied from wikipedia . Better simple 1 page than no sense pages

Tell your friend to post a video with the sign. And post the picture from different angles and different sources.
Anyone can photoshop a Bitcoin QR code.
Thanks, that's a good point. I'll have him do that. I tried reddit, but I don't have a very good account and it seems like it was sort of shadow blocked on that. Publishing to Imgur actually got some views: http://imgur.com/a/36NV7

I actually haven't posted here in a while because I've been working non-stop at a startup. But one of my overseas software developers in Nepal became homeless because of the earthquakes and suffered personal tragedies. And he can't work for us right now because of his situation. He's tried some crowdfunding sites, but they all require paypal, ssn and it's hard for him to even exchange paypal. I've introduced him to bitcoin and there's a shipping company next to him that will exchange bitcoin for cash (found it on localbitcoin). I told him to get some pictures with his family and a QR code: https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=6fd9df31ced427b4%21391QR code translated is: 1HG2GQFJJNQf21H7WeD7BFp5CdJDn37AQk Is there a good place to put this that people can recommend? I know you could think this is some kind of scam, but I'm been a user here for a little bit, and if you'd like to get in touch with him, I can give you his skype or email. That's one thing about fundraising like this, it's hard to prove. Any suggestions about the best way to go about this?

Clearly a scam trying to prey on the people trusting every idiot on the net...
Yes, it seems like a scam.

The traders pay interest on the loans out of their exchange wallet. It is a way to leverage your balance to get a larger return. Any borrowing in any currency requires repayment of a certain percentage over what you borrowed. Have you ever bought a home? A car? Same thing.
I'm well aware of how trading accounts work, and loans in general. Thats why i find i it odd anyone thinks this is a killer app for Bitcoin. I think they are referring to the ability to stockpile coins and have them actually grow the way fiat used to before the monetary system was destroyed. It creates more demand because holding them is even more profitable. It should be noted that this would not be without risk. In the event of a market crash/spike then the exchange may not be able to liquidate traders' positions at a rate that would allow them to fully repay their margin loans. The lender would have to take a loss if this were to happen. QFT. Increased reward is almost always associated with increased level of risk. Remember that. And don't get too greedy. This is not 100% true in terms of lending to margin traders as any loan could potentially end up turning bad regardless of the interest rate in relation to the market rate Has been addressed here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=667105.msg7533611#msg7533611I would not say this has been "addressed" as in a solution has been found/implemented but rather has been discussed. Right now I wouldn't care about getting interest, just making sure the coins would be safe. 5 years from now, I'd probably want an account giving interest like a bank.

Kind of a stupid idea. Invites hackers to your bitcoin address Yes, it's very stupid, but so is wearing $100k worth of jewelry out to a nightclub. You also have the option of linking your coinbase account. Account amounts are public information anyway. Anyway, this was just for fun. TrustYourAssets.com is the next site I'm working on.

To be honest, flaunting how much Bitcoin you have makes you a target.
Well no more than a guy pulling up to a club in a lambo, wearing 100k earrings... There's more risk than that IMO. There could be security cameras outside the club whereas Bitcoin is pseudo-anon. True, but some people want a lot of attention. Some people make their facebook page all public too. If you care about your privacy, this is not the site for you. I'm not going to be upset if no one signs up. That's fine.

Neat idea but i dont many will want to flaunt off their weallth on their public facebook page.
Oh I agree. This is not for 99% of people, but some guys like to show off how rich they are to pick up chicks on facebook. This is for those guys, or girls. And mostly cus I'm bored and I wanted to program this. It's more a programming exercise for me. The UI and validation on some parts is a little sloppy, but I don't want to put too much effort into this.

I'm guessing this site is not for everyone. But now you can attach your bitcoin, or CoinBase Wallet to your Facebook account and show off your wealth!!! https://www.bitfloss.com/The main page is a leaderboard, so you can see who has the most. Show them off and you can probably get more facebook friends. Can't wait to see the negative comments, let them fly!

The regular API is simpler than the RPC API, but it only allows you to download blockchain data in a different format. Verifying a message is a bit more complicated and requires input (the message and signature), so it isn't available in that API. I suspect that there's an issue with the way you integrated the C# wrapper (which is for RPC), and I don't think the RPC API is accessible via web at all, though I may be mistaken on that count.
From looking at the documentation for Bitnet (which seems a bit old, using RPC version 1.0, though I may not have found the right one), I'm not sure it supports SSL, or the verifymessage command. Have you tried using "http://" and port 80 to see if it works without SSL?
Well I'm trying to do this all online, not running bitcoind on my computer, and I think that's where the problem is. I've also tried it without bitnet. If I have to do it running bitcoind on my computer, then I'll have to approach things differently (which is fine).

You don't need bitcoind for blocchain.info's RPC API, that was just to verify that everything (aside from your code) works. Something about the wrapper or the way you're performing the web request is causing your problem. Their API does support the "verifymessage" command, scroll down to the bottom of the documentation page for the info: Method: verifymessage Parameters: (String bitcoinaddress, String signature, String message) Description: Verifies the signature and message matches the bitcoin address provided (See signmessage) Returns: Boolean
Also, you may want to take a look at this thread for verifying messages offline (without bitcoind), with libraries for several different languages: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=222992.0Thanks, but there's a difference between blockchain's rpc API and regular api var json = client.DownloadString(" http://blockchain.info/address/" + address + "?format=json"); That one always works

Ok, that worked in dos, but I think where i'm getting confused is do I have to run bitcoind on my computer? I thought this would be like a webapi call, not needing my computer.
Basically I want to verify a message using the verifymessage command. But I want to do this in javascript in a web api call. But this isn't a webapi call I guess? I'm guess that I'll need to run this on command line.
I've been using blockchain's api, but they don't have verifymessage in the web api commands. Are there any free apis that have this?

I just wanna do a get info
sorry this is c# wrapper, but string host = "rpc.blockchain.info"; string port = "443"; string user = "xxxxxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxx"; string pwd = "myPasswordForBlockChain";
BitnetClient bc = new BitnetClient("https://" + host + ":" + port); bc.Credentials = new NetworkCredential(user, pwd); var jj = bc.GetInfo();
This is with the wrapper suggested, I also tried it without the wrapper and my own web request and it failed.
this is the response i get back: {"error":{"message":"JSON-RPC method [getinfo] with 0 parameters not found.","code":-32601},"jsonrpc":"2.0"}
I really just want to use the verifymessage call, but I couldn't find a public API that did this. And I don't want to run bitcoinqt or whatever on my machine.

Yeah, thanks. Signing would work fine and I see blockchain also supports signing. There's also a coinbase API with oauth2 for a coinbase user account.
|
|
|
how easy is it for someone to sign their address though? You can't do that on blockchain.info or anything like that can you? Is there a good site to do that, or do you mostly sign stuff if you have a desktop client wallet. There's no way for me to do it for them cus I'd need their private key.
