1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hive OS - new Linux GPU mining platform on: April 17, 2018, 06:33:54 AM
I’m loving hiveos!  Free, easy to use, flash bios with a couple clicks, remote access, notifications, watchdog And overclockings easy too!  I’m a hobbyist miner with very little knowledge of computers.   If you are looking for an easy os for mining check it out.

I was on telegram and ethlend says they have resolved the issue with unpaid bounties?  They claim they have no knowledge of censorship and use of bots is limited to lendy on  chat.  Just curious if @goodman4hire was taken care of and  the admin in telegram was being honest?

Well I acquired 2 more 1070’s and sure enough it’s crash city again so not a bad card after all.  I had it freeze so bad that my bios were gone, only black screen from windows.  I pulled the battery off board and removed all but one card and got it to boot bios and I readjusted setting and plugged one card at a time in until all cards in device manager.  This took a lot of restarting and my mouse wouldn’t work so I had to do some hard shutdowns.   I updated windows then disabled auto updates.   I now have some mini ip error 56 but things seem to be going fine after several hours.   I’m hoping by disabling igd and plugging into first card and disabling audio in bios may help.🤞🏻🤞🏻

Well it’s seems I’m getting opposing opinions, however without that one 1060 card my miner stayed online for the last three days.  Evga gave me Rma and I’ll sell it for a more similar card. And thankyou for info rigproxy.com I’m researching a usb watchdog, seems worth the money.

ok I plugged my suspected bad (because in ran at 82 degrees) gtx 1060 back in to pcie where a good card was and my pc crashed within an hour.  Is it possible for a card to crash windows? Or just coincidence that it ran 24 hrs then crashed with that card.  I also bought that card on craigslist which always ends with technological failure in my experience, lol.

First time I've messed with a pc since university in 2001.  Lets just say Im learning a ton.   I bought a msi z270 sli plus, Celeron processor, 1200w and 850w psu, I acquired at random 4 1060's and a 1070, risers, 6pin extenders to power risers, 4gb ram ddr4, power switch, 2;1 mobo connector, windows 10 home, a monitor, mouse and keyboard.
I took my time and acquired stuff for cheap on craigslist and open box etc... Its been a challenge finding everything. Its kinda fun problem solving but I'm at a loss for solving how to get all 5 cards running without blue screen restarts and then black screen freezes.  Right now im running 4 cards on NiceHash legacy and it hasn't crashed in 24 hours.  But I want to get 6 cards running.  once I can get everything stable I want to use hiveos, ethos or some other miner but I want to figure out the hardware first.
To start I couldn't get the bios to see gpu so after several other mobo's another psu later I bought a different cpu(i5 7600k) and put in in socket and boom I could see gpu.  I had already installed windows trying every possible option trying to get Celeron to see gpu.   Set bios to igd, then I loaded drivers.  I flashed to newest bios; enabled 4g,  96 latency, power last state, left it in auto and tried gen 2etc....   then in windows set no password at login, adjusted virtual memory, turned off windows update, put never sleep, had performance power but went back to balanced set NiceHash miner 2 to startup menu.  after many crashes I changed to legacy with no help there.  while loading some disc from mobo I accidentally installed Norton.  that was a nightmare and I had to do a clean install to remove it, lol.  so I do have a clean install of newest windows 10 and clean install on Nvidia drivers.
When I have all 5 cards the windows won't even do a lot of things like boot usb from safe mode so if I remove the cards I can get it to function.  main problem is at random get blackscreen and have to button power down,
I've tried a lot of settings and read a bunch of forum but appreciate any tips.  I have one single fan 1060 6gb that was running at 82 degrees,  thats the one I have removed but am going to put it in place of another to see if maybe it was the culprit, probably not tho cause it ran ok when it was just the second card I owned.

I had already flashed bios and switched motherboard twice for pin suspect, in process bending pins, Der Der Der.  I had also checked that same link in my quest, lol.  Maybe its my Celeron processor or the m.2 slot affecting something.  I spent about 24 hrs obsessing on it. Then my kid broke his arm at kindergarten today so I've taken a step back and I'll come at it fresh soon.  I also returned the second z270 sli I had tried and will move onto the original z270 sli plus when its repaired. In my confusion I put the cpu socket cover under the bracket and closed it bending pins, oops, it goes on top.  I also came across a link on altcoin forum for a 8gpu miner riserless and ordered it.  Im going to get a miner working even if I have to pull the last of my side hair out!

Yeah, I figured that was case. Im not seeing it in bios, board explorer no slot highlighted.  What is proper installation?  I am pulling tab back and rocking it in until clicks closed. It can only go in one way or it won't sit in slots so I don't have it backwards.  Too remove it I have to pull tab back. cards lights are on an fan is intermittent.  if I try with risers they also light up.  but I'm trying just one in slot. thank you for advice!
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Using a Grow Tent for a mining rig cooling case? on: January 25, 2018, 07:24:49 AM
I love it mining in grow tent, lmao.  Im surprised that with 3 12' fans exhausting you can open the door to get into that place! Is there a lot of air coming in from somewhere, passively?  Have you tried having an inline fan bringing fresh air into the tent?  Id think that with air in and out, the air would exchange so fast it wouldn't heat up the tent?
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: gpu not detected on msi mobo widows 10 on: January 25, 2018, 06:50:49 AM
I have risers but tried directly into mobo as well.  In bios still nothing. I've checked connectors and have tried with 2 different psu's.  Could it be a problem with my new Celeron cpu? That is only part I haven't replaced. Lol!  I think I'm missing something windows related but it was still not detecting bios before I installed windows.  also the ddr4 4gb ballistic hasn't been changed.  sorry if I'm using wrong terminology I'm just excited to be involved.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / gpu not detected on msi mobo widows 10 on: January 25, 2018, 06:02:23 AM
I'm running latest version of windows 10 and had a msi z270 sli plus and can't seem to get the motherboard or windows to detect a gpu.   The bios nor window sees it plugged in.  I have a 850 watt psu and a Celeron processor.  I have tried 3 different 1060 gpu's.  I tried another z270 sli and even now trying a msi b250m pro v.   I'm missing something and I've tried to follow some builds and diy's but I'm stumped.  I also have ddr4 4g and an m2  around 500g.  Any tips on a how to video for dummies?  I tried to use Rufus to flash window ten with got partition for uefi.  I  could get as for as click on disc button to select a bootable image or unchecking it. I did uncheck and save to usb but not able to execute it or figure how to use it too reboot.
Sorry I'm a total tool with zero pc skills and a newbie to boot!
thanks
Ben
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PreICO] [ICO] ETHLend - Decentralized Lending DApp - The Game Changer on: January 15, 2018, 09:54:32 PM
I bought more ethlend than any token I own.  I'm really hoping its gets back on a rally, as my money is almost half, I bought at .36.  All my fault no-one to blame because I'm just gambling as I'm not an expert.  Whats a reasonable loss before I lose confidence?  Is the tokens application just undervalued or is this a sign that someones going to do it better?  I'm patient and comfortable with the loss, but still concerned.
