Maybe that huge user is another pool- what size of the LTC hashrate is it?

Maybe it's a chinese front for middlecoin that someone setup or maybe one of the LTC pools is getting it's users to mine alts and keeping the difference between BTC from alts and LTC they would have earned.

Wait scratch that second idea

Since no one has offically said it...

I did!

He said "officially" as in from Nearmiss or aTriz. The admins? You know, the moo guys?   Do you work for them Wink

No, but I am pretty official.

Crashes on middlecoin? How is that even possible?

I've stuck it back for a bit since I'm home to keep an eye on it and cgminer has now frozen after two hours. It went down at 0805 UTC.

Sad

Have to reboot the whole rig

Best payout day?

Eugh

I moved away because my miner crashes with middlecoin.

150ms on Bigpond Cable.... and yes, Brisbane as well.

Seems to be a bunch of us here, how did your rigs cope with the weekend heat just gone?

It was 43 here!

The rigs didn't actually go too badly actually.

Recently things have been crap though.

Staying with middlecoin.com crashes my miner and it sits and does nothing but spins for hours until I get home.

So I'm using hashcows now.

Payouts are out. Sorry for the delay.

I noticed some problems today (and fixed them) with the EU server, so it's still considered beta.

I've added two new beta servers, so we now have:

uswest.middlecoin.com:3333 in Oregon (same as middlecoin.com currently)
useast.middlecoin.com:3333 in N. Virginia beta
eu.middlecoin.com:3333 in Ireland beta
asia.middlecoin.com:3333 in Singapore beta

They all switch coins, just like the original US server. After beta ends, middlecoin.com will point to the server with the lowest latency to you. So you don't need to mess with your miner config at all if you don't want to participate in the beta.

If you use a beta server, be sure to have a failover server because I might need to take them offline if they have issues.

Also, don't use --no-submit-stale. On any server. When we coin switch with the new non-disconnecting tech, cgminer thinks some shares are stale when they are not.

Great news on the Singapore server H2O thanks, I'm in australia so I can start using that server for now to test it out. Actually though, the west coast server has a very slightly less Ping (westcoast 173, Singapore 184) but i'll use singapore for testing

USwest: 277

By the way, if you're connecting to the EU-server right now, you're actually connecting to the US-server. h2odyssee said so a couple of hours back. Try pinging eu.middlecoin.com. You'll find the same latency as with middlecoin.com.

What's a good latency?

I'm getting 240ms!

Doesn't seem too good.

Some people have cocked up their payout addresses as well

What do you mean cocked up ?

Put in the wrong address

The US server now has the new code, which doesn't disconnect on coin switches. It's bugged to have 1% extra rejects, which show up as "duplicate shares".

Awesome!

Time to see how it goes!

I get the impression that the coins are probably exchanged well before they show up on the graph.

It would make sense otherwise everyone would know when a dump is coming
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 03, 2014, 11:12:52 AM
are you looking to launch any server instances in the Sydney region as well as there are a number of Australian miners who would appreciate a regional hub to use.

First I'm going to fix up the EU server, then I'm setting up either Toyko, Singapore, or Hong Kong. Then I'll look at other places like Australia.
Singapore would still be great for us Aussies... Should mean roughly 100ms ping

Yes!

Singapore please!

I do remember reading somewhere that one of these silly devices is actually real, I think it only worked for diesel, and it provided a very small boost in fuel economy by somehow causing the engine to combust the fuel more fully, emitting less unburnt fuel in the exhaust, thereby getting more "bang for the buck". But it was nowhere near a 33% fuel-mileage gain.

I highly highly doubt it. Maybe something really negligible such that the device would never pay itself off.

If that were true the thing would be mass produced in all diesel trucks and whatever. It'd be standard.

It's not like they're hard devices to design, or a new idea, and if it's not cost effective to produce shitloads it's not cost effective to produce hundreds (at a higher R&D and unit cost).

You can't beat the laws of thermodynamics.  Simply cannot be done.  Generation of hydrogen by electrolysis consumes more energy than it produces-PERIOD!

A car makes more electricity then it needs. That is wasted energy. If you could recycle that surplus into fuel the argument that it would be ineficient loses its value. After all it would be free energy.. Or am i missing something.

Not to start a flame war or something, but just wondering if that would make a difference at all.

Any extra would be better off going straight back into the battery, you don't see electirc/hybrid cars using turning their energy generated from braking into hydrogen.

I don't even know if a car produces waste electricity, if it does what does it do with the energy now? It can't just disappear.

If there's anything I'd say it would be very negligible, the car scales up and down electricity generation according to demand just fine.

Anyway, whatever his name is doesn't believe that crap, he wouldn't be trying to peddle it if he did and his number are clearly pulled out of his arse.

Can we please just delete the spam.

Jesus christ it's got nothing to do with this thread even, is spam fine and dandy.

Don't quote it either.

And the same with that other pool loser

HANDY HINT. IF THERE IS EVER ELECTRISITY -> HYDROGEN IN A PRODUCT IT IS A SCAM

The only use of hydrogen is as a gaseous battery. It is not a fuel.
