4  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: are people actually still buying new rigs? on: June 23, 2011, 04:06:32 PM
there has to be a something far mroe superior to gpus and cpus that will make mining worth while.
5  Bitcoin / Mining / are people actually still buying new rigs? on: June 23, 2011, 03:05:24 PM
Just curious if people are actually buying their 1st and 2nd rigs still? isnt it a bit too late for them to get in the game this late given the diff level is just about to hit 1mil
6  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: who thinks value will drop back down to single digits? on: June 17, 2011, 07:19:14 PM
last week it dropped to 10$ and within 2 days it went right back up with 21$. We shall see
7  Bitcoin / Mining / who thinks value will drop back down to single digits? on: June 17, 2011, 04:44:29 PM
I have a "hunch" that the value per btc will shortly be back to under 10$. Pools will just keep getting bigger and continue mining no matter how high the difficulty level gets. Solo miners will eventually be leftwith two choices, either to join a pool or to drop their rigs and sell them. mining at 1.6ghs with todays difficulty level gets me roughly 1.8 bitcoins per 24 hours. the difficulty went from 500K give or take to 800K give or take and the difference in coins was roughly .3 of a bitcoin per 24 hours. I was making 2.1 bitcoins per 24 hours, now i am making 1.8 bitcoins.

guys i need a mother board for 3 5870s and a psu that supports it.
9  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 5870 running at 421 mHash/sec! on: June 16, 2011, 02:22:06 AM
what motherboard and psu are you using for 3 5870s
10  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: new additional PSU and motherboard! suggestions please. on: June 15, 2011, 09:39:30 PM
I assume you mean PCI-E power connectors and not SATA.  There's no SATA anything on your video card.

Either get another PSU or just some simple PCI-E power splitters.  There's some that split from molex or even from a current PCI-E connector so you can attach more devices.  Sure your current PSU has plenty of plain regular molex being unused.

That's good as long as you know your PSU can handle the total load.  I'm powering 4 6870s on a 1000w just fine.  Do 6970s require that much more power?  (I don't know) but I would guess that your 1600w would be enough for it.  Sure someone else would chime if I'm mistaken.  *shrug*

What kind of motherboard are you using, and how many mhashes per second are you getting? atleast 400?

what kind of motherboard and psu unit are u guys running?
12  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: New 6970 Overheating? on: June 15, 2011, 09:15:20 PM
is 6970 the way to go even with the overheating scenario?
13  Bitcoin / Mining / recommend additional hardware info please. on: June 15, 2011, 08:54:16 PM
i ahve 3 additional 6970s, can you request a psu + motherboard that will best suit it please. last motherboard i got was to expensive. those who have 6970s can you tell me which motherboards + psu units fit perfect for 3 6970 cards. thanks guys
14  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: this is strange and odd. please help. on: June 15, 2011, 03:04:55 AM
that point is that i can easily have 2ghases per second i just need to get an additional motherboard for my 3 6970s. i was asking if anyone can request a motherboard that can actually fit 3 6970s and a psu that can support it. or worst case scenario i get two psus
15  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: this is strange and odd. please help. on: June 14, 2011, 08:24:38 PM
does it make more sense to just jump in a pool getting a tenth of a coin ever hour
16  Bitcoin / Mining / this is strange and odd. please help. on: June 14, 2011, 04:55:21 PM
This might be odd but im mining at 600mhashes and the card said on the solo mining 5k blocks. do i need to go to 130k block before it can actually find a bitcoin? If it finds a bitcoin will it say on the bottom how many coins i have found/mined? or is there a different option to view what bitcoins you have found/mined.
17  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: new additional PSU and motherboard! suggestions please. on: June 14, 2011, 04:51:10 PM
Problem is i have an additional 3 cards. which motherboard best suits 3 6970 and which psu unit can support all 3 cards..
18  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: New 6970 Overheating? on: June 14, 2011, 03:41:45 AM
were you guys able to overclock the 6970s? i have 3 of them and i want to try to bump them up a little more. any suggestions or personal experience miners?
19  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: new additional PSU and motherboard! suggestions please. on: June 14, 2011, 03:30:29 AM
Motherboard   MB ASUS|P8P67 WS REVOLUTION REV 3.0
Power Supply   Ultra X4 1600-Watt Modular Power Supply - 135mm Fan, ATX

each card needs to be connected to the PSU correct? so the PSU came with 3 sata wires because it only has 3 slots for those sata wires (hopefully they are called sata and i am not mistaken). Well one sata is used up, so we are left with only two for the graphic cards. is there any PSU unit that has 4-5 or 6 SATA wire slots so you can connect more than 3 items to it? and also which motherboard do you recommend i purchase i have 3 6970s. i am looking to keep the rig i built the way it is, and just get a new motherboard and a new psu unit for the additional 3 6970s that i have
20  Bitcoin / Mining / new additional PSU and motherboard! suggestions please. on: June 13, 2011, 05:57:03 PM
I have completed my first rig. The psu only was able to support two cards because it didnt have enough slots. I have 3 6970s remaining, i want to know which motherboard can someone suggest for those specific cards and which PSU unit that will actually have enough slots for all 3 cards to get power. Thanks guys!
